Wonderful view and food was good. Nice selection and service was memorable. Food was a tad cold by the time I sat down though.
We come to Tom Ham's brunch a few times a year. The draw, and value, is the selection of crab legs, lobster claws, and scallops. These are great and arguably we get our money's worth just from the shellfish. I've been a little disappointed with their carving station the past few times, a staple of higher end brunches. First, there's only one station, versus the 2 or 3 stations with different meat options I find elsewhere. Second, they serve tri-tip roast, which is one of the cheapest cuts of beef available. No prime rib, no ham, bacon-wrapped pork loin, etc. Just a dry, somewhat tough, lean chunk of cheap tri-tip. If they would increase the quality of this piece of the brunch puzzle it'd be 5 stars across the board.
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Brunch with champagne. Our server, Carlos made our morning brighter and more enjoyable. Will be back soon.
The seafood brunch was phenomenal! There was a large variety of foods, bottomless champagne, and beautiful view of the ocean. Will definitely be returning!
We ate outside. Arrived at dusk, and saw the lights of the city come on over the water. Perfect atmosphere for my friend from England and his lady friend. It was so San Diego, and they loved seeing the actual lighthouse. Food and service great, and I definitely would come again and recommend Tom's to my friends.
Staff was very friendly, especially the hostess. Waiter was great as well with great recommendations. We came here moments after I proposed to my girlfriend to celebrate. The view was magnificent as well and the complimentary dessert was great!
Great location, ambiance, service, and food. Would go again.
Lovely setting right on San Diego Bay. Ate outside. Service was a bit slow. Took awhile before server came for our order. The lobster roll was nothing like a true east coast Lobster roll! Way too dry. Would not recommend. The fries were great! And lots of them. Overall a nice lunch in a picturesque location.
Service was top notch and the view and food were amazing.
Wonderful evening. It was my wife’s birthday, and not knowing what the traffic would be, we arrived early. After a short wait while they set the table we were escorted to a perfect table on the patio, with a full view of the bay, the city and the Coronado bridge! It is the quintessential San Diego view! Everything that is great about the city in one locale! We both had the beet, burr at a and arugula salad which was delightful, and then I had the scallops, which melted in my mouth, while my wife had the duck which she loved! He scallops were served with some crispy artichoke hearts which were almost better than the fish! I also had a couple of the gin cucumber gimlets which were perfectly made, and they brought out a dessert with a candle for my wife. When they realized that she did not eat chocolate, they brought her an apple crumb cake as well...I ate the mousse cake, but neither appeared on the bill! Very kind and classy!
We will definitely return, as the food service and ambience are all that one might ask for!
Pricy but pay for the view- it got a little cool for the night and our group would have enjoyed better with jackets and long pants vs shorts / dresses .... waiter was great. Food was good presentation and all worked well
View was amazing. Took our friends from out of state and they were very impressed and really felt like they were in California eating there by the ocean!
This place is a must if you're visiting the San Diego area. Food is great & the view of the bay and city skyline is breathtaking. Makes for a perfect evening, very relaxing date night spot also. Highly recommend outdoor seating.
This restaurant is at the very tip of Harbor Island. We dined on the outdoor balcony, where we had a stunning view of the downtown skyline. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was de-lish-us!!
Great server. Steak was cold. Beautiful view. Price was about average for San Diego.
Great place for all types of celebrations or just just to have a low-key Sunday brunch. The view of the bay is breathtaking.
This is our fourth visit to Tom Ham's for brunch, but the first time with a reservation. When we've gone without a reservation we would sit in the bar area and the service was excellent. Sad to say with our reservation and a nice outdoor view table, the service was sub-par. We sat with empty mimosa glasses several times and also had used plates left in front of us. When we asked a passing waiter for more champagne, he told us he couldn't fill our glasses, since he wasn't our waiter. The food remains delicious, but if we go back we will sit in the bar!
Amazing, view, outstanding service, delicious food. As always. Highly recommended
Breath taking views of downtown and bay side. Food was amazing but portion sizes were small giving the price
Fun experience. Great views. Food was good.
The Lighthouse offers great food, reasonable prices and a view second to none. We were late for our reservation because of picking up friends whose flight was delayed. They handled the change of time without complaint but I had the feeling the staff was anxious for us to finish and go home. It felt a bit rushed.
Beautiful view. Food was just OK. The staff seemed inexperienced in spacing out courses as we ended up eating our main courses separately. When I questioned it, they made me feel as if I was making a big deal for nothing.
A great view of downtown San Diego. The service was good and the food was OK. Shrimp cocktail seemed like frozen shrimp that were just defrosted and cost $22. Fish dinner was delicious. Deserts were average. Don’t plan on dinning late, bar closed at 9pm and had to ask they open the bar for an after dinner drink with my desert. No sure if I will be back. I hear their Sunday Brunch is very good.
We sat outside and really wow-ed our visitors. The food is always excellent as is the staff. Sitting outside and watching the city skyline is just the iceing on the cake.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch for my husbands birthday in the most beautiful location in our home city. Thank you Tom Ham's for yet another amazing meal!
This place is always a great 'go to' when looking for something that says 'San Diego'. Enjoyed al fresco dining, next to the water, enjoying sunset and the rise of the lights downtown. Everything was delectable and the service was attentive.
We ordered salmon & meat, the salmon was ok but the meat was really bad, the service wa excellent.
Ourselves and our friends had a delightful time.
Perfect table, view, service and weather.
Thank you so much!
It was really nice to enjoy our 17 year anniversary at Tom Ham’s. We heard a lot of great things about this place and were very happy with the food and the view.
The venue was beautiful and our server was amazing but I felt it was overpriced for the options available, and to top if off, for a "buffet" there weren't many food options to choose from. Some of it, like the potatoes for example, were stale and cold. Even the sausage was cold. The crab and lobster were all on ice. It would've been nice to have some warm options.
The best thing (aside from the mimosas of course) was the pasta cart. Which is unfortunate because the restaurant has so much potential. After a $419 tab our party of 7, all of us first timers, left feeling disappointed. We won't be going back.
Beautiful scenery and awesome food. I cant eat shellfish but my wife definitely loved it. It was fresh and plentiful. It was worth every penny.
Superb place for celebrating our anniversary. We loved everything from service to food and ambiance to views. We were beyond impressed with Tom Ham's lighthouse.
We really enjoyed our dining experience here. From our server, to the food to the amazing views.
Phenomenal view, food and service! James took great care of us for my Father’s birthday. My family thoroughly enjoyed everything.
Celebrating an 89th birthday
The food is delicious and the view is spectacular. You can’t go wrong here
Great waiter! Food very good, drinks are the best.
Our server was awesome!! She really helped make the experience enjoyable.
The Crab Louie was good but the busboy keep trying to take my dish while I was still eating because my friend had finished! Carlos even brought a piece of birthday cake for my friend while I was only half done!! It was like they were just trying to turn the table!
Got delayed overnight in San Diego for a cancelled Flight. Made some good use of the time in light of the close proximity to the hotel and airport. Fantastic Views of the Harbor, Delicious Food, but most impressive was our Waiter, Raymond. He was on-pointe with recommendations and pairings and very attentive. Turned Lemons into Lemonade...
