Waitress was rude. Ruined it for us. Trying to eat dinner and she is clearing the table and shoving the dessert menu in our face.
Perfect! I love the restaurant, the food, the ambience, the view.
Waiter was excellent. Service great food outstanding. All very good would come back.
Great service! Reserved table waiting for us. No wait. Kind hostess, nice waiter, yummy food. The view of downtown from the restaurant is amazing. Outdoor seating is tough to beat. We had our wedding luncheon here 16 years ago. It was fun to bring our kids and go back for lunch today.
The view and the excellent paella made for a memorable evening for us tourists
The service was exceptional
Out waitress was on top of it all
The food was mediocre
Really nothing special so pricey for what it was too
I’m a foodie and a cook
Best thing was the waitress and the view
One of the best restaurants in San Diego with unbeatable views, spectacular food and service.
Service a little slow, waiter offered another drink for my friend but not to me
Grew up in San Diego but had never been to Tom Hams. It’s a big building with lots of banquet rooms but the dining room inside is just one vast open space. Me and my bf were thinking it was like being in a capsized Spanish galleon with the wood beams on the ceiling and ship shaped windows.
The view was pretty great and it would have been better if they’d lowered the lighting inside just a scoc.
We were a bit disappointed there was no bread offered but the calamari and dipping sauce were quite good, as were the strong cocktails we had ordered. It’s good when you can taste the booze, right, as long as it’s not all you can.
I got the pan seared salmon and vegetables and fontina polenta and my bf got short ribs with two kinds of potatoes and it was all delicious. Except the parsnips in my veggie assortment, they were woody and tasteless but easy to just move aside.
Our waitress was wonderful and accommodated our every wish even with the very loud noise factor due to the room size and reflective surfaces. We had a good time and will return again in the near future
Fish of the day was very over cooked and dry. You’re paying for the ambiance, not for the food. Would come back for drinks and a view, but not to eat.
Wonderful atmosphere, plenty of parking, wonderful location on the water. The service and food were top notch. If you’re looking for a great place for a special occasion on the water, this is it.
The restaurant was FANTASTIC!!! Sat outside and the view was beautiful. I had bouillabaisse and my wife had paella. Excellent food. The cocktails were excellent as well. Would absolutely recommend it.
Tom Hamm’s is one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego. We visit the area for work 5+ times a year and dine at Tom Hamm’s several times each trip. The food is always delicious and service spectacular and our experience last night was no exception. We prefer outdoor dining or bar dining for the views and appreciate the opportunity to have such a lovely experience.
I made a reservation for the bar but when we arrived, there were no seats at the bar. The “open” seats were being saved by people waiting on friends. That was disappointing considering we had reserved seats and the other seats being held were walk ins. The hostess was gracious and when I asked if outside seating was possible, she accommodated us. We had a wonderful meal and two bottles of wine. Brad was a so hospitable and took great care of us.
We’ll be back soon!
Food was great also the view!! Waitress was so sweet and took care of all our needs!! We willl be back soon!! Thank you
Great service, food Ok, view great. We just had appetizers and calimari was rubbery and overcooked, dessert was great! Miss there lollipop chicken appetizer.
The service was awesome and the foo was good but we didn’t enjoy the sauces offered with the chilled seafood
Always fantastic!! Place to go on sunday brunch when you want to do something special, good food and beautiful view!!
Outstanding! Perfect view, great service, awesome selection for Sunday Brunch!
I would definitely 👍 💯 recommend Tom's Ham's Lighthouse. The food view and are all wonderful 👏 😋. I'm so happy that the buffet is open again. I have been going there for over a decade an will continue to visit for many years to come!!!!!
Alicia was our server for the evening, and she was one of the best servers I've ever had. She was very personable, attentive, and her recommendations were on point. The place was packed on a Saturday night, yet the service times for everything from drinks to appetizers to entrees was still outstanding. The food was fantastic and the views of the bay/downtown from everywhere in the restaurant are amazing. 100% would recommend this place to anybody wanting a great dining experience.
Excellent food and ambiance! Would highly recommend!
Great view. Great service. Disappointed with 2 dishes. Great food was lobster corn dogs, lobster bisque, scallops, creme brulee. Short ribs were dry and bland and cheesecake was tasteless and dry.
Beautiful experience. Good food, reasonable prices, professional and attentive staff, and gorgeous views. This is one of our go-to spots for hosting out-of-town visitors and our guests had a wonderful meal, as expected.
Food was amazing, service is usually better. Waiter forgot our drinks and then proceeded to bring wrong drinks.
We ate outside so it was quieter than inside which can get noisy. Three of our four entrees were very good. The fourth, Crab Louis, not so good. Great atmosphere and service.
Nice location, food is ok
had lunch with my sister for her birthday this was her first trip to San Diego, what better place to showcase our beautiful city than outdoor dining here! We had the fish & chips and yellowtail catch of the day, food was very good. She raved at the freshness of the fish also their ceviche is a must have for an appetizer. Good size portions as well.
The view and ambience on the patio were outstanding. Wine by the glass list had a nice range of options - higher end and value priced. The service was good, but the food was adequate at best. Given the prices, I would have expected a manager to stop by and inquire about our experience, but we did not see anyone but our server and bus boys. They served a meal they called paella, which was actually pre-cooked rice, per the server, and then steamed protein arranged on top - shrimp and chorizo. The dish had no sauce or taste. The salmon was fine, and the brick chicken was good. I would not go back except for a drink and appetizer to enjoy the view.
Beautiful view, delicious scallops & great service!
Everything was very good
Absolutely beautiful spot with the best and most attentive staff. Our server was very helpful and encouraged us to enjoy the view and our evening. The food itself was good, but I've had better seafood selections elsewhere, the sashimi was underwhelming. Really enjoyed the oyster variety! I had the scallop dish for my entree and I enjoyed the different flavors of leeks and artichokes. I'd skip the dessert, and order one of their sweeter beverages like the Skewball Painkiller. Overall, a very enjoyable evening and I'd be happy to visit again.
This was my first time dining at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse and I cannot wait to go back! The food was great, the views were amazing and the staff was very friendly . I’d like to recognize Davor’s outstanding service! He was friendly, attentive and made sure my husband had a great birthday celebration.
The ceviche and Nicoise salad were rather bland. But, the fish and chips and the Shrimp Po Boy were very good. Great waiter and beautiful view!
A first time family reunion with a couple of family members.
Date night with beautiful views of downtown and San Diego Bay!
Broke the mouth
Ono kine grinds
Wonderful restaurant. Excellent view right on the water. Food is fantastic and they have Bali Hai Mai Tai's!
This was a birthday dinner for my wife. She always orders the bouillabaise (sp?), which, once again, did NOT disappoint. I had the appetizers; all were excellent - - especially the mushroom soup. It was the soup of the day, so it may not always be available, but it was the best I've ever had. And...one of the best views of the city skyline.
perfect seating, service and food was very good.
very enjoyable evening celebrating birthday
Beautiful location in the harbor with a large outdoor patio. Excellent service from Molly
