I've been going to Todd Jurich's Bistro since it was on York Street. I've never been disappointed.
Valet parked our vehicle right up front, we were seated quickly, the table was clean, the server was excellent, the food was outstanding and we will be back!
Always great food and service, and so too on this visit. Fewer specials than I recall from previous visits, but still great selections.
Our dinner was great. Our server made sure we wanted for nothing. I requested a wedge salad with changes and it was the best! The bar side was boisterous, but, who was complaining, it felt like we were getting back to “normal” after a year of not dining out much. We will be back. Thank you.
Upon arrival, we were given the only window seat. Which is a lovely oversized booth. We all commented on the appealing ambiance and menu selections. We ordered drinks and the bread basket. Everyone enjoyed something from the bread basket, but sadly this was the best food we got. The tuna poke was a disappointing with fatty tuna and an unappealing presentation. My husband’s scallops were so salty that he was choking them down. (Ironically he is the one who always asks for salt). My sons steak was swimming in some kind of white sauce. While my crab cakes were stuffed with lump crab, the plate itself was uninspired...with 6 potato chips and some mediocre coleslaw. My daughter ate her tiny piece of overpriced salmon but left the over cooked squishy bok choy and the two oily dumplings that they brought over after the fact. Overall way overpriced. This foodie family won’t be making a visit here again.
The food and atmosphere were fine, but nothing incredible. The host was quite rude and indifferent to guests (making loud phone calls and combative with guests asking questions about table spacing due to Covid, etc.) My server was attentive and professional. The cocktails were well-crafted.
Great restaurant, my second visit and it was just as good as my first visit!
We like the ambiance and decor. Food was great. We had a quiet booth and enjoyed the experience.
Amazing atmosphere and great menu wonderful customer service and exceptional valet!!
Highly recommend Todd jurichs bistro. Friendly staff, manager came to our table to make sure we were satisfied. None of that matters if the food doesnt measure up; it does. My wife had the crispy duck. perfect. moist where it was supposed to be and crispy where it should. I had the ribeye. One of the best ive had, and im a steak guy, few places do it better than i do it myself.
It was fabulous
First time trying this place out and I must say I was very impressed. The food was very well prepared and had a nice presentation. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The only negative thing I could say was that the portions were entirely too small, especially considering the price point of the entrees. I still give this restaurant a 5 star rating.
Nice spot for dinner. Very good service, but unfortunately the food quality has dropped off. Robuchon potatoes were very stiff, but tasty. Oysters had bits of shell throughout. It hurts to say this, but accurate reviews help fellow diners make choices.
We had a fantastic experience and would go back. The owner took the time to suggest wine to us and had story to go with. Our waitress was extremely friendly and patient. The food was delicious and fresh tasting.
This was our first time out to eat since the pandemic. We felt very comfortable with the people we encountered. Our server, Gigi, was lovely and did a great job. We had the pumpkin crab soup, which was exceptional. Our entrees were only lukewarm when they arrived, and sadly, they were not anything to write home about. Okay, but not great. We had the flourless chocolate torte for dessert which was very nice. Had hoped to have a better experience.
My girlfriend and I have been there before and were very happy. This time we were seated in a tiny booth near the door and the bar. Between reception and the noisy bar we could barely hear each other speak. The table legs took up much too much of the leg space and it was uncomfortable. It was bad enough we didn't even order entrees; just ate appetizers and drank a couple glasses of wine. Given my prior excellent experience, it was a very disappointing night. Usually, I would have said something or asked for another table, but didn't for personal reasons. I doubt that I will be returning.
Food was good. But the service was a little lacking and extremely judgmental of a couple with lots of visible tattoos and piercings.
Great service and food as it always is
We arrived early to take advantage of their happy hour but they couldn’t serve us because max capacity. The host sat us two hours early and we had a great experience
Very much enjoyed the Friday evening “Date Night” at Todd’s...although there were more diners than we had expected because of Covid—and a very lively bar scene. The Manager and Staff were doing their best to enforce social-distancing.
Great food and our waitress was very good!
Outstanding food, service, and atmosphere! We've been busy with work & school and haven't been to Todd Jurich's Bistro in a couple years. Now we're wondering why we stayed away. The food is delicious. We'll be back soon.
The food was out of this world!
Great food and service . Bread pudding is unmatched .
Wonderful place, great food, wine and service. Very nice, will return soon.
Great in all aspects. A jewel!
This was our first time dining here, and we absolutely loved it! The hostess greeted us right away. I had requested a booth or a table off to the side, so that was very nice of her to accommodate our request. Our server was phenomenal; she was so funny and sweet! I wish I could remember her name so when we return we could request her as our server (Jackie, perhaps?). The food runners were very kind and professional as well; they remembered our seat numbers so they knew who ordered what dish and took the time to present the food. The various dishes we tried were exceptional and the plating was very eye pleasing... Definitely took into appreciation before digging in. Well done to the entire staff! Looking forward to joining you again!
The food was delicious. The staff attentive. All 3 courses were delicious
I would rather not have been limited to a fixed price meal plan and if I had known that was the only option I would have waited until another night such as when they do surf and turf or prime rib. Nevertheless, the excellent quality with the freshest of ingredients, made the meal sublime. My son also commented on the fact that the Cesar salad was the best he had ever had and none of it was "brown"! Our waitress or server or whatever they are these days, was exceptional. Bistro is hands down one of the top fine dining in the Tidewater area.
just an absolutely wonderful experience. Tasty appetizer( perogis) good wine choice,
pork dinner was simply superb and the crab cakes really good. Service was excellent and well done in a very professional manner by a quite attentive server. Loved the cheese cake dessert. looking forward to the next visit
Interesting menu with local ingredient options. Nice wine list
Great dinner as always there. Duck was amazing. Filet quality of meat wasn’t top notch but still tasty.
Food was very good, but server was slow to tend to the table so the very gracious GM did so. Also, we were seated in an adjoining meeting room with a view of the kitchen which had zero ambience. It had been suggested to me by the person that had recommended we try it (for the first time) to request a booth, which I did, and it wasn't honored. Overall, disappointing first time.
We were celebrating Christmas with close friends. Bought tickets to Winterfest which was across the street. Decided to eat at Jurichs Bistro for convenience. Hadnt been there in a while. We were given a private room as 8 people attended and Karen knew Carlos the gentlemen confirming reservations. We enjoyed our privacy. I ordered the special which was Surf and Turf. My filet was chewy so they brought me another. The 2nd one was chewy, also. I just chewed and disposed of the part I couldnt chew on a separate plate. 2 Others ordered the same but didnt have a problem with the petite Filet. You should be able to cut through the filet like butter. Or at least chew it. Both of my filets were chewy. I wont order that again. Disappointed in my meal. I enjoyed the ambiance and company. Wish my steak had been up to par.
Great ambiance and enjoyed jumbo fried shrimp, fresh raw oysters from the Eastern Shore, crabcakes, and splurged on key lime pie and chocolate decadence cake with our wines. Wonderful evening out.
Todd's is one of the best restaurants in downtown Norfolk. We ate in the bar area which is always very lively but if you eat in the dining room, each table is very private. Food & service was amazing & Rob is the best bartender in Norfolk!
I’m in Norfolk to spend a weekend with my son before his sail keeps him away for six months. I want to have a memorable evening with him beginning with a nice dinner. Sadly, the dinner experience was mediocre at high prices. The food was meh, our waitress a well-meaning helicopter was annoying at best.
I'm going to stop there so I don't harp. On a scale of no to go, I have to give Todd Jurich’s a solid "no ".
Bad poor service
Thank you so much for accommodating my loved ones and I for my birthday! Food was delicious, service was good & the table was perfect. Carlos called to confirm twice and made sure my party would be accommodated. Thank you Todd Jurich’s Bistro for an excellent birthday dinner!
What can I say, but Todd's is consistently solid service with perfectly prepared food. The lay out has a vibe to compliment family or business entertaining. The bar service is extremely attentive with quality libations.
