I love the roasted beet salad; added chicken breast this time and sometimes add calamari. It's so delicious and healthy. My friend had the grilled cheese special that really was very special. Service is outstanding. I always enjoy Todd Jurich's and recommend.
Overall was very good. Beautiful food. Service a bit dicey. Took forever to get our drinks but they were prepared beautifully. That delay sort of set the tone. Wine bottle delivery was like 15 minutes after mains were served. Having said that the food was delicious.
Wonderful! Every bit of the evening was great.
Nice atmosphere and the food was delicious.
Todd Jurichs food was delicious and the ambiance was nice however the entry to the hosts/hostess service lacked as they were not in the host location. There was a gentlemen in plain clothing who stood near the bar as if he was a customer and we asked did he work there and he said yes. The gentleman had an unfriendly and unwelcoming demeanor to our party when we arrived. When it was time to be seated, he pointed to our seating location versus escorted our party to our seats. But the waitress Kayla was very nice and welcoming and ensured we had what we needed while dining for dinner.
We had a fabulous experience at Bistro. The food was amazing, the service impeccable, and the atmosphere quaint and elegant. Our favorite Norfolk restaurant!
Food was great and so was our waitress. Great atmosphere to conduct business
If you find yourself in downtown Norfolk this place is well worth a try. The food was great, the wine delicious and the service was outstanding.
We have always liked Todd Jurich’s for both lunch and dinner. Food was good overall. My Caesar salad came with a popover that was just a half of a popover and cold. Not worth eating! Also, the waiter was so-so. Had to come back a second time to get our order, forgot my husband’s salad, asked my husband if he wanted a glass for his beer (this is a classy restaurant).
Had to ask twice for more water. So, I haven’t given up on this restaurant- but this lunch experience was sub-par.
A great place to wine and dine. Superb service, nice wine selections, friendly yet reserved atmosphere.
They were out of several basic items that were key ingredients to many menu options. We ordered a bread basket that did not come. We had to remind the waitress when we were finally served our meals. Despite few people in the restaurant, it look almost 30 minutes for our food to be served.
This is quite unusual for the restaurant.
Wonderful evening. We were given a great table and a great waitress (Chantelle). Our experience was outstanding. Glad we decided to dine out last night.
Food, service was great. Wine list had good selections. I don’t get to Norfolk often but will be back to enjoy again.
Been multiple times before and it was wonderful. Probably just a bad night and a distracted server.
It was just ok. I have been going for years and I guess the place has seen its time come and go
Celebrated our 50th anniversary. We were treated like very special guests and it was a real treat!
Excellent food! Great wine selections. Friendly atmosphere but sufficiently upscale. Service is first-rate. Definitely a can't miss place. Worth the drive to Norfolk. Valet Parking or close by city parking.
Beautifully prepared food, great service and bartender.
We enjoyed a wonderful family birthday celebration and would highly recommend this restaurant, Great food service and atmosphere
I proposed to my wife in the restaurant on York Street in '98. We have come to the Bistro once a year on our anniversary for 20 years. We will continue to do so. =-) Thank you for being a part of our lives.
I can only imagine the challenges that a restaurant faces to make it over the long haul. Congratulation to you. I have watched the clientele and the focus change over the years. The experience over time has become less intimate and serviced based - and more industrial. Not just after the move - but within your current location. I do wish that the dining experience were more like it use to be. Care in each and every dish - less banter and people roaming around with booked parties - less industrialized entries. I know this is a balance between quality - consistency - and finances - but I believe the pendulum has swung too far a field from the restaurant you once were. Maybe it is just a reflection of us both getting older.
Interesting menu, excellently prepared and imaginatively plated. Highly recommend.
Our evening here was just ok. The ambiance is more like a cafeteria than fine dining. The bar stocks so-so liquors. The wine list was small but reasonably priced. The food was passable but nothing special. My elderly grandparents would probably like this restaurant because it was quiet, over lit, and the flavors were pretty bland. We won’t be back.
Two of our party got what was billed as filet mignon which turned out to be two small slices of beef on a polenta cake. Totally insufficient for a main course! It should have said polenta as the main course with a side of filet slices ! Been there many times- very disappointing and was celebrating a birthday.
The food was really good. The service was good enough. The environment is nice. We went for restaurant week. I probably would not pay their regular prices for the amount of food we got.
Excellent food and service!
Seemed like they just wanted to get us in and out as fast as possible was definitely not worth the cost
We hadn't been in a while, but enjoyed the experience. The crispy duck was the best duck I've had, and the poke was amazing.
The food was delicious. Even though it was restaurant week, we were permitted to order from the standard menu. We sat at the bar, service was attentive. Restaurant was quiet and attractive.
Went here during Norfolk restaurant week. Neither my husband nor I had been here before. Since we are getting ready to move we decided to give it a shor. We wish we have been going long before! So delicious!
Excellent food with interesting combinations. Use of local suppliers as much as possible. Everything prepared fresh so changes can be made.
Sat in the bar with my guests when we arrived. Rob the bartender was awesome. Made us feel very welcome. If I have any negative comments it would be that the bar was poorly stocked. No hendricks, no kettle one botanicals, no ginger beer. All popular spirits. We moved to the dining room. Our waitress was great. Very well versed on the menu. We had the soft shell crabs to start. So good we ordered more. Local oysters were delicious. For dinner we had lamb and halibut with crab. Fresh and plentiful. I look forward to going to this restaurant again. This is NYC quality
Todd Jurich's is the perfect continental restaurant. As a party of 4 we had foie gras, oysters, soft shelled crabs, Caesar salad, duck, lamb and the fresh catch of the day. There was nothing but excellence in both service and cuisine.
Great food very attentive staff, Will definitely visit again.
Delicious food. I had the roasted beet salad with fried calamari and it was delicious. My friend had the special which was a toasted caprese sandwich with homemade chips and succotash. Excellent service.
My husband loved his duck entree. I was disappointed by soft shell crab( sauteed) snd beet salad did not have many beets in it.
Pecan pie was more like chunks of pecan in corn syrup/brown sugar- not a pleasing texture and the crust on key lime pie was so hard,I could barely cut it with a knife-
Great service!! We probably wont’t return due to food
It was our one year anniversary and they made it very special for us. The food was delicious. Flavorful and well made. Highly recommend the creme brûllé.
The roasted beet salad was very Disappointing. It was a plate of spinach with a few slices of beets. The mile high key lime pie turned out to be frozen cream, couldn't even get the fork in it with no key lime. Sent it back. The entree was excellent leg of lamb. Not sure I would go back.
First time there...a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet. Outstanding food....fish special of the day was brilliantly prepared and delicious. Service left a little to be desired, especially since there was all of about 8 people in the place but it wasn’t awful. Would highly recommend. Excellent location, neat ambiance. Will definitely be back.
Perfect for our anniversary dinner and the complimentary glasses of champagne were appreciated. The food as always was exquisite, unique, and beautifully plated. The service was perfect, just the right amount of attention without being obtrusive. The nice thing is, TJ's Bistro is always this way, so we can reliably have special guests from out of town get blown away, great drinks at the bar, or a romantic dinner without worry.
Our server was awesome . Restaurant was not super clean, windows really dirty. I ordered a house salad that tasted like straight vinegar was poured on it . We order Bison which was sub par. Also ordered a fish special and fish was dry and portion was small for price and sauce was cold. Wine was good and staff very friendly. Probably won’t go back .
