Tino's Italian Bistro
Always a great experience. Not sure why there are no Open Table points are applicable.
We come often because they seldom disappoint and have a great variety of entrees, especially good for gluten free diners. This portions are large, and we almost always have enough for a second dinner from leftovers. This last visit was spectacular. Special was seafood contessa- scallops shrimp and crab on pasta with a light rosemary cream sauce. I could eat this every night!!
We went to Tino's Italian Bistro because my husband wanted something Italian. He was very pleased with his pasta & Bolognese sauce with sausage. I should mention he is the cook in the family & very picky.
Upon a recommendation from our waiter, I had the crab ravioli. Even though both dishes were delightful, we couldn't finish the servings, so we too the rest home for a later dinner.
It was delicious - so delicious in fact that my boyfriend and I went back the next night!!!
Was our first time going there and it was a huge disappointment. Service was slow and missing. The food was way too expensive for the quality. The $7 side of 2 meatballs tasted like canned spaghetti Os. Our main dishes were completely overpriced for the size, quality and taste. The only thing good was the free bread and butter!! Unfortunately we will not be going back! Don’t waste your money!
Delicious, as always. The ravioli I had was excellent.
Third time we have visited Tino's Italian Bistro for dinner. Food is always exceptional. Service is excellent with waiter briefly interrupting us to check on meal. Very friendly atmosphere for dinner. Prices a quite reasonable for quantity and quality of food received. $17 Chicken Marsala was a large, 12 inch plate with two chicken cutlets, bounteous noodles, and many mushrooms. $14 meat stromboli was about 12" x 6", loaded with cheese and meats. Too much to eat, so we boxed left-overs for next day lunch. You will generally see the proprietor, Lance, multitasking in the dining room; strike up a conversation with him. Another great about Tino's - they regularly have Foundation Nights where a portion of income is given to charities (see their website). What a community service!
The menu has lots of variety and our food was perfectly prepared. The service was excellent.
We go to tinos fairly regularly it's always great. I'll def be going back
Wonderful as usual! Friends from Philadelphia thought the food was excellent! Love all the gluten free choices!
We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. It was drenched in oil. The gluten free dish we ordered had more flavor (pesto and marinara), but the lemon oil and the garlic and olive oil was bland. The minestrone was equally bland. The bean soup, in contrast, was tasty and had good flavor.
We visited Tinos for the first time. The first thing I noticed is the menus were dirty. Other than that the place seemed pretty clean in the dining room.
I was looking forward to the tortellini bolognese I ordered. It actually tasted good but it was spicy. I don’t like spicy but on scale of 1-10 it was probably a 3/4. I just couldn’t eat the whole portion knowing it was spicy so I returned it for a spaghetti Parmesan that was good.
My wife ordered the steak and I wish we had paid attention when my brother asked the server about the steak. He told him it wasn’t his particular taste and it was “okay”. It was a square steak and slightly over cooked. It was pretty chewy and after a couple of bites she asked to return it. She also had a side of broccoli that had too much pepper on it. She exchanged it for a small side salad
The rest of our table seemed satisfied with their meals but we all agreed we probably would not be returning :(
Was easy to make an online reservation and we were seated promptly on arrival. Waiter Kevin was knowledgeable and attentive. Everyone enjoyed his/her meal. The veal rib special was amazing -- tender and flavorful. We largely filled up on appetizers and bread and all of us ended up bringing home leftovers -- just as good the next day. A very enjoyable Father's Day meal!
The food overall was great. Wine selections great. Service (Morgan was awesome!) and ambience great. The bread SUCKS!!! I would have rather had none than what they served. Truly was a great experience, except for the bread! We'll go back for sure.
Our service was very, very good. I am sorry that I cannot remember our server's name but she was outstanding.
Tino's is always delicious Italian food and good service. It is a great local restaurant that never disappoints.
Great meal as always!
We were seated for quite some time and no one came over to even offer us water. We had to ask to have a server sent to our table. The sauce on my husband's dish was not very good. He basically ate around it.
We had a great dinner in this neighborhood jewel. We love that it’s a local business and the way they support the community.
Great pizza, Chicken Caesar wraps, and any pasta dish!
This restaurant is a neighborhood gem. The food is great. I've never been disappointed in the meals. We had the pizza for carry out and it was very good. Great friendly service. We believe it is the best value and Italian restaurant in Ellicott City/Columbia! Tino's, keep up the great food service and restaurant atmosphere.
Love Tino’s! Great food, great service. Nice ambiance.
Wonderful in every possible way!
The meal and service were great, please tell the chef and server we were please. I note the 3 stars were due to a lot of young children inside and they were noisy. I guess we came at the wrong time.
Local Italian restaurant that sure beats the chains for taste, freshness, service and comparable prices. Wine selections are affordable and offer a wide range.
Very good food - great service. Salads are fresh and lots to choose from
I went with a group of 6 for Mother's Day. They had the usual issues associated with Mother's Day. Large crowds and the computer system went down while we were there. We were seated right away when we got there. The wait for service, drinks, and food was longer then usual and we had to ask a couple times for enough silverware and plates (only 4 of each on table when we got there.)
All in all a good choice for Mother's Day as long as you remember it is Mother's Day and give them a break.
It was Mothers Day, the service was poor, restaurant could not handle the crowd, we waited 15 mins. before we had to stop a waiter to ask who was our waiter! Their Sunday wine @ half price special was not in effect, even though on line it advertised that their wine bottles was 50% off on Sundays. They did offer (1) desert at no charge for the inconvenience.
Even on one of the busiest restaurant days of the year (Mother's Day), our reservation was honored as soon as we arrived, they greeted our two grand children (ages 6 & 3) and seated us in a comfortable booth just the perfect size for 5 hungry customers. Amber provided professional, friendly, and very helpful service and Lance - the owner - stopped by to see how we were doing. The food was fantastic and plentiful (we left with three take home leftover boxes), everyone said they enjoyed their meal (even the kids) and I felt the value received for the experience was fantastic. If you are looking for a fun, family spot in Columbia, I would recommend Tino's - we had a 10 out of 10 dining experience.
Fantastic place. We eat here often after concerts and it always is great. Owners support local organizations and support their fundraising. A great community resource.
Met best friends for a double date. They accommodated all of us deliciously even the gluten free and the soy free and the vegans.
Whew! We didn’t think it could be done.
Went for date night with my husband. I had an incredible grilled seafood dish that was to die for. It was the special and included swordfish, calamari, scallops, and shrimp with steamed vegetables. No carbs, very simple, very tasty, grilled to perfection. My husband, being in a pasta mood, ordered the tortellini in a veal cream sauce. I don't typically enjoy veal, but the sauce was incredible and the tortellini cooked exactly how I like it. The portions were ENORMOUS so we ended up splitting the seafood dish and taking most of the tortellini home. Complimentary appetizer bread was just OK, but the dipping oil had garlic, hot peppers, and other spices in it that made it addictive. He had a glass of Riesling, I had a very acidic, refreshing Sauv Blanc. We just moved to HoCo and this will likely be our new go-to for date night when we are in the mood for Italian and can find a babysitter! (Not sure if kid-friendly, I'm sure they could accommodate, just felt like too nice of a place to bring a toddler.)
Another wonderful meal. Mary, our server was very attentive and extremely professional. Looking forward to returning
Great food, prices, and service!
We love this place! It is our go to hang whenever we need to celebrate! The food is delicious and the portions are humongous! We always have leftovers for next day!
Food and service were great. Restaurant was crowded but not too noisy. Server was friendly and attentive.
The chicken piccata was divine
Chicken saltimbocca was not as flavorable as expected
Stromboli was good but not spectacular
Tortellini bolanase was great!
Love this place! We have been here several times and always wonderful. The bread and olive oil for dipping is AMAZING. Don't fill-up on bread, or you will need to take home leftovers. We always have leftovers! YUM!
