Ting Lounge, Shangri-La At The Shard
We have been to Ting Lounge a few times, and each one has been a pleasure.
The views are spectacular; the food is excellent with a good diversity in choices; the sommelier is very helpful; service is at the level you may expect from a 5 stars hotel. Atmosphere is right: moderate lighting, comfortable seating matching the "lounge" effect. Clientèle is international.
Much better than other sky high dinning places on the other side of the Thames (given our sampling of about 4 other north-shore venues).
Very attentive staff. Not cheap, especially drinks,’but everything was of pretty high standard. Staff were lovely made a small mistake with locating our bags on leaving but we’re really lovely and swift about it and made us feel so welcome. Would definitely go again. Views are second to none.
As a usual customer to TĪNG, I bring any new guest to London to experience Shard and choose TĪNG because of the service, I believe that’s what we pay for.
On this occasion I was let down completely and my guest was thinking of hosting a grad party for her daughter and friends but we have chosen hutong instead. I work in sales, during the order we asked for a side and waiter says you have to pay for it. Was he trying to put us off or did he assume we couldn’t afford it? Then chose a sauce and changed the option to peppercorn. Receive the wrong sauce. When we advised the waiter, he argued that we didn’t choose that. My experience in service tells me even if you think the customer is wrong, you don’t argue. He also didn’t bring the sauce till we almost finished the meal. I should have not paid for it but I rose above it. I don’t expect to have an argument in a place like this. I am so disappointed and wouldn’t want to bring guests to experience such service.
Service was very slow; had to wait for about 10 min before anyone came over with the menu. Then another over 20 min or so for someone to come over and take our order.
Ambience was good; food quality was good but now where near to the value given that I paid £45 pound for my Rib-eye steak, and another £9 extra for some chips to go on side.
Took my mum out on a date and she loved every minute of it. The service was amazing as well as the food!
Menu prices have leapt up from my last visit. Not many small plate or sharing options. Pad Thai for £28 seems excessive. Drinks and dessert sufficed and the view is incredible.
They kept us waiting for hours. Poor service, poor skill, and food was terrible.
Don’t order Ting Burger.
They didn’t take orders properly and didn’t bring champagne.
If you are an ordinary Asian, you might feel uncomfortable.
The ambiance was nice. The saté we ordered was too dry. That’s very bad for this kinds of restaurants.
Absolutely beautiful to be in and the view of the city is amazing. Food is presented beautifully and service is great. Would definitely recommend it.
l waited long long time and I canceled my order.
I don’t recommend that Lounge.
Went to Tings lounge for Christmas Eve dinner with family and wanted this to be a special occasion.
We were seated and I asked if we could get window seat prompt came the response it’s on first come first serve basis. Told the steward that if it becomes available would like to move. Half an hour later table on our left who had come after us get seated on a table that became vacant and when I enquired I was told by the same steward that I had not indicated that would like to sit by the window
In the food side it took them 45 mins to get some bread on the table again when asked it seemed they had forgotten
I ordered Oysters, chicken satay and prawn toasts for starters, 1 hour later the steward comes and informs that they do not have Oysters to serve... it took them 1 hour by the clock to advise me that
Mains had ordered sweet and sour pork but utterly disappointed pork was over fried and tough
Overall except for the views from the restaurant would not recommend Tings bad service and average food have had better
Very good experience. Specially the hostess got us a window seat as it was our anniversary. Very commendable staff.
Charming atmosphere, nice food and outstanding service. And the view is priceless
I had booked the Ting Lounge at the shard for a client Christmas dinner. On Arrival at the base station of the shard we were early so we requested to have a "drink" in the bar adjacent. This bar was so loud you could not hear yourself think! Yes it was a friday but. We had one drink then re tried to get to the restaurant and thankfully this was possible. On arrival at the restaurant we were greeted by a lady who then "told" us to wait at a seating area, we were not asked if we would like a drink or anything while we waited! We were then advised our table was ready, this chap was really polite and happy as he guided us to the table it restored my expectations. Once at the table the service was very intermittent to say the least. It is with concern to advise I will not attend this restaurant again with any clients. The actual overall experience was disappointing, with both my client and myself felt very underwhelmed. Such a shame great location with great views spoilt.
My time at the ting at the shard was spectacular. From the views to the service to the food. Everything was spot on and I would defo recommend to anyone. We got the last window seat which was lucky! And the halal options were really tasty. The only thing that dissapointed me was they forgot my birthday request. It was my partners birthday and they must have forgot I put that in my request when I booked the table. If it wasn’t for that I would’ve been even happier.
Attentive service, great food, in a wonderful setting with one of the best views over London.
We had an amazing meal with equally amazing views. Both the food and service was incredible, we will definitely be back and plan to stay at the hotel next time!
The food was good. Value for money. The service was also amazing. Our first time in the shard the view was amazing too.
For some reason the booking online had double booked but right from the lady at the reception to the gentleman at the Ting reception to the waiter, everyone was super helpful and fantastic. This is my third visit to Ting and everytime what stands out is the polite but friendly and helpful service of all the serving staff. The food as always was super delicious! Was yet again a brilliant experience. Thank you.
Breathtaking views, very very slow service. Didn't seem to be enough staff. On arrival (we arrived 10 mins early) we were told to stand over there, the attendant raised her hand & pointed to an area about 10 metres from where we were - almost shooing us away!! We asked could we go to the bar & wait there - was told "to busy”. After such a warm welcome, this did really set the standard for the rest of the evening. The views though are totally unbelievable, not sure they were worth the $650+ for the meal for 4 though.
Service was excellent, food was fine.. could be better. Overall the experience was great! Will be definitely going back again!
Food is great, view obviously amazing, unfortunately the service was a massive let down and at those prices it should be impressive.
Food quality down compared previous dish, always looks like short staff. Everything if you need have to wait long long time ,only viewing is alway perfect!
It was nice. Ambience was really good. Good service. Food could be little better .
The hostesses were very friendly polite and helpful. Our server was excellent and his suggestions were spot on. Food was delicious. It was everything I was hoping for on our first visit.
Better views from Gong, the proper cocktail lounge further up the Shard. We went on Oct 5th and our waiter was nice enough but not that attentive. I'll book upstairs next time where they are a bit more on the ball. Strong drinks!
The ambiance and food were perfect but service was very poor. We waited forever just for water at the table. And despite asking twice if we could get a drink while waiting for our table, no one ever responded. We didn’t mind waiting at all but in such a rather lavish place we expected to be paid attention to. The waiter and waitress were very nice , it just seemed as they were short staffed
Service slow and poor. Food over priced. Terrible.
We went to celebrate a birthday party with kids. it was a nice experience and the food was great. only thing was we had ordered the kids food first as they were hungry but somehow their food arrived much after ours. by then they had lost their appetite.
I was so pleased and happy with the food and customer service. Good value for good quality. The view was awesome, but the window side tables were first come first serve, so we had to wait a little
Stunning location and ambience but the food was very disappointing and didn't befit the setting. I could get a similar meal in my local Thai takeaway - such a shame as the setting is so superb.
The food and drinks were fine, however I cannot recommend Ting Lounge. Our party was forced to stare over our shoulders to try to catch the attention of the wait staff every single time we needed anything, and twice our attempts to catch their attention went on so long that one of our party got up go let them know we needed them.
Having to get up and find someone to wait on our table twice did not affect any improvement in the service, and getting anyone to come to our table remained a struggle from the first cocktail to getting the bill. The disruption to our conversation and the long wait for new drinks and to have our orders taken made the dining experience pretty unpleasant, and for that alone I would not return to Ting Lounge.
Looks likes Short of staff, waiting long time to be served. Even pay the bills has to call 3times !!!!!!!!!!!also food is too salt ,changed a lot ,I used to like
Come here 3times /week ! But do not thinks come again
This is all about the view and I guess the staff figure that's why you came.
Friend and I sat fir almost half and hour before even getting drinks. They never asked about food. We left and went to Oblix in the Shard. Drinks are super expensive.
Beautiful food with picturesque views. Great customer service and the new Manager Shelron is amazing. He really looked after us and made sure everything was perfect. I really enjoyed the dinner. Will definitely go back.
Great view. Wouldnt return for the food or service.
Top class dining experience - amazing view, delicious Southeast Asian cuisine, and excellent service (Spyros). Already my 3rd time here, it just get better!
Aun was attentive and an excellent waiter. he asked questions and was super helpful. and he has a spectacular moustache
Relaxing atmosphere, great view over London, excellent food and service.
