Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
The place is gorgeous!!!!!!
So good! Food, service, ambiance!
Incredible view, service and dining. A most memorable experience!
Les was outstanding! He walked us through the menu to explain dishes in depth. His attitude, demeanor and passion for life made our experience truly memorable.
This is a great place for a special occasion meal. I love the tables that are right next to the koi pond.
We ate dinner at Tidepools during our vacation in Kauai. We both loved it! The food was outstanding, particularly the Opah, but really all the dishes we had were delicious and beautifully presented. The setting is also lovely, with little koi ponds all around and bamboo thatched roofs over the tables. It was a little chilly and slightly windy so bring a jacket. We are planning to go again before our vacation ends.
Went for my 30th and was not disappointed! Every thing we ate was amazing! Pupu we had Crab cakes, scallops, 2 Ahi towers “we had a party of 5” I got the opha and it was delicious l! Got it with the sweet potato mash instead! Drinks where a bit on the higher side! $16 for a mixed drink, the drink definitely tasted good though!
Great food and experience. Ocean view and warm friendly service. Would definitely recommend and return.
Great food and service in a unique setting. It was Valentine’s Day and even on this busy evening the staff were great and and service prompt, friendly, and highly professional.
Outstanding as always. Service and food both are excellent.
We’ve dived at Tidepools many times. This was one of the more enjoyable. Our waiter was friendly and took some time to visit while obviously busy. Vegetarian options are few but this year, my entree was prepared well.
I loved everything about Tidepools! My steak was delicious and my husbands fish good too. But it is the ambiance that was perfect! Just how you would want Kauai to be with views and service. And our waiter was super, also!
Used valet parking, but slipped and fell on wet slippery tile entry. Think they would have carpet or a warning sign. Skinned my knee on that, but otherwise no big deal. My filet was overdone at medium to well. Dry and chewy. Table they gave us was breezy and cold in hallway between pads. Service was great. But overall disappointed. Certainly not a grand experience.
Service was great as always! And the food was amazing. Always hits every taste bud! We have dinner every year for our anniversary & Tidepools never lets us down! Thank you again. Chef Eric & his team does wonders
Love the ambience and the way the restaurant is set up overlooking a KOI pond my wife and I would dine here again when we return to Kauai
Best restaurant in Kawai
Very disappointed dinning experience during our recent trip to Kauai. While our waiter was excellent, the food was bland. I expected more creativity than teriyaki sauce for the Hawaiian catch. And the hollandaise sauce for the Opah was heavy and salty. As a local who grew up in the islands, fresh fish should be heightened by the accompanying sauces, not masquerading.
Our waiter Derek made our experience absolutely phenomenal. The food was great, the drinks were wonderful, they made an amazing anniversary gesture to us, it’s extremely scenic, and would recommend 10/10 again.
Great tasting Island dinner in a cool environment
Dirty martinis, ceviche and polenta duster scallops were an excellent start. We brought our wine, one not on the menu. The beet salad was amazing!mWhile 2 of us totally enjoyed the evening’s special seafood - including lobster, prawns, scallops and fish, the other two had fresh caught snapper. Good, but the snapper was not as amazing as the mixed special, as there was more edamame than fish. Dessert was a nice Portuguese donut plate with 3 dipping sauces. Again, it was very good, 5 donuts. Nice selection of adult beverages to finish the evening, including Port. Service was among the best on the island.
One of favorites, highly recommend!!
What a lovely place to go for a special occasion. The whole experience was timed masterfully, Drinks, appetizers, main course, dessert, coffee! I highly recommend the polenta crusted scallops!
A wonderful evening. Excellent service and delicious food.
Wonder dinner but price up 25% from 2 years ago!
The setting is lovely but our service wasn't great. The menu options are not appealing, very expensive and ended up being really bland. I wanted the snapper, was advised by waiter not to order it, thought about chicken and ended up with tofu. The tofu was covered with panko (?) and flavorless, on a bed of vegetables flavored with very bland curry -- no flavor whatsoever. It's very expensive, cocktails were not good, wine way overpriced. No value for the $$
For a “High End” dining establishment was not so “High End” Less than adiquate for the VERY high
Price. Pass! Thanks
Exceptional service and good atmosphere but food was average at best and overpriced. Many many restaurants in the area that are much better.
Everything was wonderful great view! The food and service as well
Amazing. Great food. The ambiance is very beautiful.
Can’t stay at the grand Hyatt and not eat at Tidepools! The ambiance and food are awesome! Very pricey but worth it! I had the opah fish and my husband had the lobster fish - both were excellent! Service was very good as well. Love this place!
This is a very nice setting, however the meal was terrible not even considering the price.
I had a seafood combo which was OK but nothing to write home about. My wife had the lobster plate which was almost inedible and looked nothing like the plate pictured on the restaurant web page. The presentation was beyond bad. We weren’t even sure it was the correct dish. A mushy small lobster tail was on top of very watery noodles surrounded by a few shrimp and even two scallops. It was odd that the scallops were added since they aren’t even included on the description of the plate.
The result was a blah flavorless watery mush.
Every entree approached or exceeded $50. At these prices an exceptional meal with excellent presentation is expected. What we experienced was far from the mark.
This is unfortunately another restaurant catering to “captured” tourists with few dining options.
Took 15 minutes to be seated with a dinner reservation and no one waiting. Water glasses were filthy and we asked they be replaced. Food was very good but with tons of wait staff we never seemed to get things in a timely manner. Rum Fire at the Sheraton is the best!
The best food I’ve had in Hawaii, ever. Service was excellent. And the restaurant was gorgeous. Can’t go wrong!
The food is nothing special or memorable and overpriced . This is probably due to who is preparing the food that day in the kitchen. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful.
Fabulous food, great service, stunning views. Don’t miss this
Fun location with good solid foot preparations and vibrant flavors
Tidepools definitely does not get the attention it deserves on Kauai. We have visited the island for 25+ years and have tried almost all the restaurants. Decided to try Tidepools again (after many years) for a birthday celebration. One of our best meals on Kauai. All 4 entrees were outstanding and the service was great. The ambiance and location above the lagoon can’t be beat. And you have to try the chocolate molten lava cake - incredible. Wine prices were a little steep but overall an amazing evening.
Our family dines at Tidepools each time we come to Kauai (twice a year) and we are never disappointed by the food, the setting or the service. This time, however, than usual, making conversation sometimes difficult for our party of 5. Still, we enjoyed the food (we all had seafood. ) and managed to try 4 of the desserts - all very good, but especially the meringue and the coconut cake. Servings are.
