Three Muses Ratings and Reviews
Once again, Three Muses never disappoints. I always stop by when I am in town, whether business or pleasure. the cocktails are always amazing and the menu is always fresh and tasty. The smaller plates make it easy to share and try everything and the well-marked menu makes it easy for diners with food issues. I am gluten free and have always been able to find plenty to eat! And it's all good - unlike some places, where GF is an afterthought. Plus, the local music is always amazing and the service is top notch. Just go.
Nice place to listen to music and enjoy small plates. The menu is not extensive but we all ordered a variety and ate family style. It did get crowded and loud but the vibe was very laid back and the location is in the heart of the Marigny there were lots of bars that had live music that we enjoyed after dinner all on the same street
Hubby and I went to NOLA on a whim. Did a shout out on my FB and asked where we should go. This was a recommendation! Glad we went! Listened to 2 different musical groups - enjoyed both! Had a grapefruit infused champagne, we shared a meat/cheese sampler, salad and macaroni and cheese! Mac and cheese is A MUST!!! Everything we had was good! We were sitting next to the stage so it was louder but not unbareable! Nice evening and surely recommend!
Music was great!!! Very intimate setting. Drinks, not so good. ( got a vodka tonic with a splash of lemon aid and they charged extra for that! 50 cents Who does that??) Food nothing exceptional. Once again Mia Borders was fantastic, and a very fun performer!!
We dined at Three Muses last Monday night. It is a cute little place! We enjoyed everything we ordered... marinated olives, tempura shrimp, dates, and fish tacos. Everything had very good flavor and the portions were perfect for a small plate restaurant.
As an added bonus, the performer that evening was one of our favorites, Mia Borders. Such a fun night!
I would definitely return the next time we are in New Orleans.
#1 My drinks were horrendous. Cosmos - Citron, Cranberry, Triple Sec how could they be so bad. Lemon twist?? REALLY? Does no one know the recipe? Small pour, in a silly martini (?) glass. It was sour, not tart.
#2 The bruschetta (tomato on whole wheat) was soggy (all tree of them) not much taste.
#3 We planned to go at 5:00pm so that the noise level would be low. Several times the solo sax was so loud we couldn't hear our conversation. I clicked energetic but it was LOUD.
I used to go at least once a week (at least) but haven't been around much and was so-o-o looking forward to the food, good drinks, fun bartenders and nice atmosphere. Sunday was a painful experience. Too bad.... as I am now living 2 blocks away and have lots of visitors
Lastly, my ratings were bumped up by one, or more, ticks. Why was that? 2nd try, same thing.

Overall a cool place. A gentleman played the piano beautifully. Our waitress was very helpful with drink recommendations. There were 5 of us dining and we have the Italian baked mac & cheese, tempura shrimp, "Bahn Mi" gulf fish tacos, the lamb sliders, and 2 orders of the pork belly. Everyone left feeling very full. My personal favorite was the mac and cheese. However, it was all very good.
Went here on a girls trip to New Orleans on the recommendation of my seat mate on the flight in. The food was some of the best we had on our trip. The musicians were very talented, and the volume was perfect to be able to enjoy the music and carry on a conversation at the same time.
Awesome place! Rated noise level a 3 because it is live music so it will be louder than most restaurants but it is a uieter music than most of the places on Frenchmen, which I prefer. Food is always very good. Be sure to get a reservation to ensure having a table. Can't wait to get back!
Food was great-small portions, but fun to order different items and share. We were there in time for Happy Hour so we enjoyed a delicious Rose' for a great price. Friendly and helpful staff-seemed to struggle a little as they got busier, though. Definitely recommend.
This is a really fun place and is most unusual in its combination of Tapas and tasteful low key live music. The welcome was exceptionally warm and the ambiance is really seductive. The food was of excellent quality, imaginative and the service was very prompt - too prompt actually.
We were served all of our 4 choices in very rapid order and all were on the table before we had finished our cocktails! They did advise us that the food was cooked to order and would leave the kitchen when ready, but some thought into pacing would have been smarter and more considerate. Also, all of the single bite, individual, portions were all served as trios on the plate which makes no sense for a table of four - how do you divide up the 3 small portions/three muses? There were two of us, so we could divide the third portion in two but even so it was kind of irritating. This odd number approach is not unusual for Tapas places and I wish that they'd re-think and serve one portion per person, priced accordingly.
That said, we'd go back but perhaps order one dish at a time after finishing a cocktail to get the pacing right.
We went to Three Muses for dinner as a bachelorette party, thinking we'd hear some good music and enjoy good food (based on previous reviews). However, when we arrived the host warned us we would only have 1.5 hours to complete our meal. We knew that there was a time limit, but it put a lot of pressure on us when we sat down and did not see our waitress for over 15 minutes.
Service: Incredibly slow. We almost ran out the clock before the check arrived.
Food: Decent, though the menu was confusing. The waitress told us to get 2 plates per person, but the menu was a mix of small and very large plates with no clear distinction between the two. The meals were hit and miss (mine too small, others too large).
Music: The first band was supposed to play through the meal, however they played parts of one or two songs then packed up before we were even served. Unfortunately, we had to leave before the next band started. Luckily, there are plenty of other places to listen to jazz on Frenchmen Street.
Drinks: The real draw of this restaurant are the cocktails. We had the best drinks we had all weekend here.
My daughter and I were looking for something different to do our last night in New Orleans which also happened to be a very rainy, windy evening. (the week of Cindy). I wanted some live music, we both wanted some good food inside out of the elements. Upon recommendations from my daughter's friend's sister in law we booked a table, got picked up at the hotel by Uber and had a fantastic small plates variety and cocktails. We stayed dry, heard a great jazz trio and found a completely different hopping neighbourhood of NOLA.
We had tried to obtain a reservation, but due to the popularity we missed out. We booked online for the following evening and we weren't disappointed. Right from the get go the gorgeous hostess at the front door couldn't of been more welcoming. The table location was great because we weren't too close to the music (allowing for conversation around the table), the music was excellent btw and the food was well worth the wait. We all enjoyed the food, the wine, the location, the ambience and the staff are just great. Would recommend in a heart beat to anyone wanting to eat in a great location. Thanks for the great night.
I will definitely be back! The food was spectacular. I cannot wait to try more, but I have to order the Steak & Cake again! It was hard to choose from so many great options on their drink menu, but after such a hot day walking around the city, the Champagne Supernova was so refreshing. Oh, and the service...I felt like I was visiting someone's home. They were all so warm, welcoming & fun!
