Wonderful meal as always. I had the black truffles Royale with lobster bisque and lobster ragout. It was delightful, perhaps one of the the best things I have ever eaten. My husband enjoyed the sweetbreads. We both had specials that were amazing. The service was impeccable. We will be back of course!
I have been dining at this place for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Simply one of the best dining experiences you will have.
Great special occasion restaurant. Beautiful setting. Very romantic. Very high quality French food with wonderful wine list. The service was outstanding and extremely friendly. Everyone who works there is first-rate. Pricey but worth it.
A little outdated in ambiance.
Cold bread and butter felt the same.
No drink menu, just a lengthy wine list. You can request just about anything and they will make it.
Portions are great.
Service is lovely.
upscale French style dining. large and very good wine list but pricey. our dishes were all very good but the truffle had lost most of its flavor. In all very good service and excellent experience.
Lovely New England inn setting, excellent service, delicious perfectly prepared food — this is our favorite special occasion restaurant.
Exceptional!! Everything done to perfection
Great food, great service and great atmosphere!
Really good food and great gluten free options, just not GF bread
Had a late Saturday night reservations, we were told as soon as we sat down there was only 1 Dover Sole left if were interested and then were told they were out of the Lamb special, but the rack of lamb on the menu is excellent. After reviewing the menu and then ordering a nice bottle of Bordeaux wine with sommelier, we ordered our dinner. I ordered the rack of lamb, and they just ran out I was told. So I was left ordered the duck.
The trio of foie gras was very mediocre, not very flavorful and I am a big fan and order this dish all over. The cannelloni stuffed with crabmeat topped with caviar was very good. My duck was so over cooked it was so dry. The sauce had good taste.
We are foodie and love fine dining and will pay for great meals, unfortunately I do not think I will return, sorry.
Exceptional food and setting, so warm and inviting. Beautiful menu offerings; delectable desserts; lovely wine selection. Gracious staff and well managed flow. Chef TH hard at work in the kitchen and so gracious in his care. Expecting to visit often.
Great food, great service. We went early in the week and it was quiet. We dined with a larger, loud group and had a great time and the staff accommodated our every need.
Food was good, not great. Loud table behind us distracted from the night.
One of the best dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. It was superb.
Perfection! The food and service was outstanding.
It wa a wonderful get together of friends. We all loved our meals, our waiter was delightful and they gave us a quiet table as requested. We will look forward to goin to The Homestead again!
Great ambiance, food and service. Wine list is expensive and not diverse
Excellent experience once again celebrating our anniversary. Professional and upscale without being snooty. Will be back!
First time here and absolutely perfect
This is fine dinning at its best
If you have a special occasion or want to enjoy the quality of a top NYC five star restaurant, this is the place
The service was superb and has the cozy feel of a European chalet , makes for the most romantic experience
By far the best restaurant in Greenwich CT !
Dinner was great, staff very attentive.
Our celebratory new year's dinner at Thomas Henkelmann's restaurant was superb. The service was excellent, the table situated with a view to the garden, including a Christmas tree glowing with light reflected by the surrounding snow. The food was timed to arrive perfectly, allowing us enough leisure to enjoy every perfect course -- from the first taste of the amuse bouche to the last sip of espresso.
All of the dishes we ordered were of outstanding quality, made with the finest ingredients, in addition to being most attractively presented. The shrimp appetizer, dover sole, and sorbet dessert are outstanding.
We recommend this restaurant highly.
Went during the holidays and the ambience was amazing. The food and service were top notch.
We celebrated my mother in law's 87th birthday and the kindness towards her and the entire service and food was amazing.
One of the few elegant restaurants that serves excellent French cuisine , a throwback to an era when people valued a special evening out. And patrons dressed nicely!
We always enjoy dinner here. We did notice however, that there was no chicken entee's on the menu, which we thought was a problem
Always elegant, superb service with charm, great food, lovely, peaceful ambiance, expensive but worth it.
The food was delicious and the holiday decorations were quite attractive. The service was superlative. My only issue was the lack of handicapped parking and handicapped access. The restaurant needs to come up with a better way of gaining access than taking handicapped people through the kitchen.
There is no question that this is a very special place. It is very beautiful. The grounds, the dining room, and the sitting rooms are gorgeous. However, the food just doesn't seem to be at the same level as the surroundings. It's not that the food is poor. Rather, it is just OK. I had breast of duck that was a beautiful presentation, but very dry and perhaps over cooked. The fois gras was truly mediocre. The desserts were wonderful. The potential is here, but the kitchen needs improvement. Also, I would suggest to the management that the wait staff be instructed to provide prices for items not on the menu!
Absolutely first class food and service. The waiters are all in sync, and there was not a single bite of food that was not thoroughly enjoyed.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Food was fantastic and served in a visually appealing manner. Service was outstanding and was the main reason for going. What we had heard was quite accurate - fine dining the way it used to be but is hard to find these days.
We had wanted to go there for a long time. We knew that it was pricey and decided to celebrate our 13th anniversary there. The only two problems we had were one in that there was no valet parking and we couldn't believe that, knowing the price we were going to pay inside and secondly they sat us near a very nice table near windows that were leaking very cold air? Won't go back very soon as we frankly cant afford their prices but if you, can go for it very nice place
Excellent food, service and ambiance!
THIS IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF "BIG HAT, NO CATTLE". THEY ARE CLEARLY COASTING ON THEIR PAST GLORY AND EXERTING LITTLE EFFORT TO REMAIN EXCELLENT. IT'S A REAL SHAME.
Best of the best. A very special restaurant and it really shines during the winter holiday season.
It is a treat to dine at the Homestead and everything is done in a first class fashion. The food is outstanding.
Had a wonderful meal. Service was impeccable. Favorite restaurant in Connecticut.
Service was great and food was very delicious. Wine list extensive but overpriced. The decor is a bit too much and confusing. What I saw of the bar it was tiny. The ambience is a bit stuffy even for Greenwich.
You feel like you are in Provence when
you dine at The Homestead Inn. It is
always a beautiful experience!
