Theory Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Dinner for four couples; only one of us had been there previously. Very friendly, helpful reservation staff. Our group changed 2-3x so reservation shifted between 8-12 people and they were patient with us.
Our server was wonderful - she was very personable and service was great. Food was very good - certainly not just pub grub. Certainly a great place to catch a game - TVs everywhere. Great experience - we'd definitely be back.
We flew in from Boston and wanted a bar to watch the patriot game. This place was awesome. Full of patriots fans lots of big screen TVs The owner came over and introduced himself and was very friendly. The cheese burgers were amazing!! I will go there again
Went with friends that we haven't seen in awhile and wanted to watch the Monday Night Football game, have dinner, and catch up. The sport watching experience is top notch (e.g., lots of nice TVs with good views from everywhere). The volume on the game seemed a little loud at first, making it difficult to talk, but I either got used to it or it was turned down because I only recall it being an issue right after the game came on. The food was very good and the staff was very attentive (e.g., never had to ask for another beer, etc.). The manager or owner stopped by when we came in, during our visit, and when we were leaving to thank us for coming and to make sure we had a good time. It was very genuine and a nice touch. I had never been to Theory but I'll likely be back. Good food, good service, comfortable setting, and a good time.
This is my favorite sports bar in the country. We stop in every time we are in Chicago. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. The owner recognizes us every time we stop in and couldn’t be more accommodating. It’s like having a neighborhood restaurant and bar away from home.
A group of friends and I were visiting Chicago from Canada and made reservations for dinner after reading reviews online for several places. We received a call 2 hours before our reservation stating that they "didn't know if they'd have a table for us" because they were busy. When I called back no one answered, I left a message and also didn't receive a call back. We arrived at the restaurant and did have a table, the food was ok, but I do have to say the service was awful. Our server was rude, impatient, and had no manners. We also chose this restaurant based on the reviews and photos online as it looked like a good spot for a nice dinner, this was not the case. There was some sort of event that they neglected to mention when I made the reservation so there was very little seating, people were bumping into us throughout our entire meal, and the music was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation. Lastly, one of the members of our party didn't enjoy her food at all, and the customer service skills of the waitress in this situation were disappointing to say the least. If you're looking to just grab a drink and don't want to talk to anyone this place is for you, but I would not recommend this place for a meal.
My food did not come out with the other food and the server offered me an appetizer while I waited. I didn't need an app., but thought the gesture was so nice! We went there for trivia and so the noise level was on and off moderate. Food was delicious and thought it would be a great place to go back for trivia and/or watch a sports game!
I started coming here for Patriots games and has become by go to for Happy Hours, dinner, drinks etc. Excellent staff, the owner Joel is beyond amazing. It has become my home away from home. Food is great, anything from healthy salads & flat breads to fried mac and cheese bites. Also great if you have a small private party, very cool back room!
Background music playing too loud, "energetic" noise level not good. Weekend visit to Chicago with another couple, picked Theory for dinner & to watch specific football game. We were only ones really watching any of the TVs, but they wouldn't put our hometown football team, WMU Broncos, on the largest TV screen near our table, instead of 2-hr pregame of Chicago Bulls basketball. No audio from TVs, so having pre-game/studio shows on pretty stupid. Food just so-so. Did I say music too loud? Couldn't really have conversations without shouting.
