Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers and pasta, BBQ chicken and ribs, a wide selection of sandwiches and salads, and a kids menu featuring mini burgers and kids chicken fingers. We are also open daily for breakfast.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 18 draft beers on tap, a wine list featuring 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature cocktail list featuring the green tea zentini, the organic martini, and our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen plasma televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Wireless internet is available throughout, including the 120 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

we were the ONLY ONES in the entire restaurant, we order Eggs Benedict (3 servings), all 3 were stone cold when delivered, we returned them, the replacement servings were only SLIGHTLY warmer. We asked if they were prepared ahead of time then simply reheated before serving, according to the server they were made fresh (*). Being the only ones in the entire restaurant (Mother's Day) we thought we would get above and beyond service, we did not. NOTE: I am a VERY frequent patron of The Wood (lunch, dinner and lounge), I will not recommend this place for breakfast to anyone. (*) time span between first plates being removed and second plates arriving may have been I-2 minutes....that is not enough time to prepare three "freshly made" Eggs Benedicts NOT SATISFIED!!!!!

Food was ok, but very over priced. That might just be Canmore thing though. Very poor handling of dietary questions and requests. Who charges for fountain pop refills?

Food was tasty and generous portions! Loved my steak and garlic fries. I would definitely return to dine there again, and recommend this place if visiting Canmore! Service was great, nice ambience, and during our stay this was my favourite place that we ate at. We came from Manitoba and tried several places in the area during our stay.

Our table was beside the fireplace and our server was incredible! The menu items were large servings. We would highly recommend The Wood.

We were a party of 9 adults - service and food was great - we were seated, however, in the dining room with large parties of families with lots of little kids jumping around like manics - we should have been seated in the bar area - if I would have known, I would have requested it.
