Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers, and a wide selection of sandwiches and amazing salads, gluten free and vegan options, and a kids menu featuring pigs in pretzel buns and kids chicken fingers.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 24 draft beers on tap, a wine list with 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature and seasonal cocktail list including our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Free wireless internet is available throughout, including the 130 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

Made reservations and glad we did, this place is busy and it’s busy for a reason. Staff and Food were both excellent! Thank you, highlight of our trip to Canmore.

Our waitress was lively and super helpful. Unfortunately the food was not. The salmon teriyaki, which is a signature dish, was dry, and the rice tasted like it was microwaved. The salmon can with dried teriyaki sauce, and when I asked for some actual sauce for my rice and veggies, I was was given a cold bowl of teriyaki sauce that clearly just came out of the fridge. If this is a signature dish, I would assume everything was home made but the sauce was not. After reviewing other reviews, I see I wasn’t the first person to ask for actual sauce for their teriyaki dish. My husband ordered steak that was under cooked so much so the waitress noticed it before we could even say anything. The waitress was super apologetic , but no manager came over u til we asked to speak with her. She was aware we were unsatisfied but didn’t come over to apologize on her own. Once you hear you have an unhappy customer, you initiate the conversation. We were offered complimentary dessert as well as a % off our bill for the food. Unfortunately we won’t be returning

The food was amazing, the servers were so kind and friendly, views unbeatable. We may just go back again tomorrow.

We had a lovely lunch birthday celebration at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the meal delivery was perfect. The food was delicious. The salmon burger was cooked perfectly and the chicken karaage burgers were excellent. We ate inside and it was nice and cool on a hot day. My daughter enjoyed her free birthday cheesecake. We will be back!

Food was great. We told waitress about son’s food allergy and what he wanted to eat. She said she would check but didn’t come back. They then served my son the food. Luckily we asked if they had double checked the allergens, because they HADN’T checked and had served my son food that would have caused a reaction. Not ok.

We wanted to like our experience, but it was a bit underwhelming. After waiting for several minutes at the hostess stand for the hostess and servers to finish discussing how they were going to seat all of the walk-ins, we were finally seated at our booth. Then we were asked to switch to another booth due to a large party who needed ours. Ordered the dry ribs appetizer which was really good. For dinner my husband ordered the steak sandwich, which was tough and overcooked and didn’t get the gravy he ordered with the fries. I ordered the teriyaki sesame salmon which didn’t come with the sesame seed seasoning and was a little dry and just underwhelming with the incredibly dry white rice and run of the mill veggies that came it with. The kitchen put the hubby’s brown gravy on my salmon dish…our server was nice and she tried but overall it was just okay, nothing exciting, sorry!

Great food and Acacia was a great server. Even helped us go inside when the rain started coming down.
