The Wishing Well Ratings and Reviews
We have been coming here for years, usually on a Friday night there is someone playing the piano but not last Friday. The place was practically empty which is also unusual. Our server was very good but the food was terrible. They had a very limited menu, in the past there were many more selections. I don’t know if it’s new ownership or a new chef, but I was very disappointed.
Birthday dinner based on reviews on line and came away feeling little disappointed. My entree was prepared very well, bread pudding served alongside little flavor and would be better to have some fresh vegs. My husband's entree requested medium rare and served over medium, very crusty and charred. Waitstaff very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend especially with updates to the menu.
We had a very nice evening with business friends, The atmosphere was very good, nice bar area, The waitress we had was spot on. Food service was timed very well to give us a chance to enjoy our appetizers, salads the meal while able to have and enjoy unrushed and pleasant conversations.
We used Uber to arrive there but Uber was unavailable when we were ready to leave. Our waitress came to our rescued and introduced us to a very pleasant young worker who graciously shuttled us back to our hotel area. Thank you for making the whole evening a pleasant experience.
Exceptional food, attentive service, and wonderful ambience. One of the finest restaurants I've ever dined at, the food was delightful and generously portioned. The staff were very friendly, and we were even greeted personally by the owner. A great experience overall.
A great discovery after 6 decades of local living. The elegant country ambience surrounds you with great food and service. The menu is a narrow variety found usually as chef's specials, which I find to be much better entrees. And the cooked to order calves liver, bacon and onions prove it to be true. The attention given to the rich beef sauce brings it all together.
After dinner, the owner came to our table and asked about our experience. I told him I was a first timer and he told the history of his family restaurant.
Overall I will rate this a 5-star dining experience. I do recommend dressing up and enjoy a drink at the piano bar before being seated. You will not be disappointed.
Had an early New Year's Eve dinner. Service and food were excellent. Had asked for a quiet table and got it. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as requested, salmon was also delicious. Often dine there when visiting Saratoga Springs. Great location, just a few miles from downtown along Route 9 so easy parking.
Dined here for New Year’s Eve dinner and had a great experience. Love the warm, cozy, inviting atmosphere. Service was outstanding from start to finish. Cocktails were beautifully prepared and food was very good. The stand-outs were the butternut squash soup and the filet mignon. Lobster ravioli and baked oysters preparation weren’t my favorite but we eat a ton of fresh seafood in MA and ME, so our standards are high. Overall a really lovely dining experience and we will definitely go back when we visit the area again!
Had dinner on dec/30/17.....food was perfect ..great service...if your looking for a really good place to go eat...go to the wishing well you will NOT be disappointed...and good for after drink or before with a piano bar lounge with fireplace...cozy setting....old school...enjoy..!!!
My wife and I received excellent service. The entire staff took time to make sure that we were taken care of.
They food was very tasty and served with minimum waiting.
I was joyfully surprised at the price on my bill. For what we ordered it was a much lower than I was anticipating. It was a first class experience.
nice place to celebrate special occasions,we had a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner so the place was a bit busy and crowded. Excellent service from Gwen our waitress and staff .food was 4/5, Long Island duck was excellent , filet mignon was ok and lobster bisque was a bit salty.great place for romantic dates if not too crowded.
