Great food and excellent service. Very personable owner. The atmosphere led to a very romantic evening.
With Covid and outside seating is the only reason we gave ambiance a lower rating. All other aspects of the night were 5+! Knowledgeable staff, gourmet chef choices that we all loved every bite and plentiful portions. Wine pairings were spot on and enjoyed by all.
The food and wine are both great! The service is so good especially during these times of COVID restrictions. Outside dining with tents and heating...very comfortable. Try it.
Wonderful as usual!! A hidden gem.
It had been years since coming to this restaurant. I wanted to take my friend somewhere very nice and special. We had a wonderful time. Just as great as I remember. I will need to come more often.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Hidden gem. Reasonable pricing. Personalized service. The food is over the top. Genius creations.
We've been eating at the Winesellar since it opened over 20 years ago and have never been disappointed. We were there for a personal celebration and totally enjoyed the whole experience. I wish them all the luck getting through this difficult period and we will try to help them out as much as possible.
The dinner food was awesome as usual and the fresh tomato salad was delicious. As it was our anniversary we wree treated to fresh vanilla ice cream. The great service began at the door where we were met by our server and continued till we left the restaurant.
One of the hidden jewel in SD. We were from Las Vegas. The food and service are exceptional. Me and my husband got 5-course chef creation with 5-glass wine pairing! What a delight night! Our teen girls love their duck. My older one turned 14 and we had an amazing celebration over there. Must go place.
Making the best of the outdoor dining in the parking lot...food was great and service was good. Yum!!
Best chicken picatta I have ever had. Lovely outdoor setting. Attentive server.
Great service, great food and great wine👍😍
Excellent, as always. Felt safe and well cared for.
The food and the service are ALWAYS top notch. This has beenn our go to special occasions restaurant for the past several years. Moro is an outstanding, well informed and gracious waiter.
We have been to the Winesellar many times before; this was our first venture out to any restaurant since the pandemic. The staff, as always, provided stellar service; masks were worn and other appropriate accommodations made. I'm not sure if it was just the anticipation, but the food was the best it's ever been. We are so glad to see this restaurant back in business!
I've dined here five times in the last 2 years and have never had the same thing twice from their tasting menu. Everything is delicious, the service is impeccable and a very good value.
Anniversary Dinner during these crazy times it was nice to have a quiet dinner great wine and great food
Glad this neighborhood gem has reopened. The food is exceptional and the staff is fantastic. We had the Chef's Mercy Dinner paired with wines, all 5 courses were creative interpretations of great locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend this place.
The service was superb, the food was excellent, and we had a nice relaxing time.
It has been a while since we last ate there and so we were pleased to find it was as good as we remembered. The service was excellent; unhurried, yet prompt with water refills and keeping the wine topped off. The food was very well prepared. We will return soon.
We had a wonderful time at dinner.
The restaurant upstairs was a great surprise.
Wine store downstairs and the wine bar downstairs were equally impressive. This place is a hidden gem!
A birthday for my wife, just the two of us in a nice romantic setting. It was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised to find a upscale restaurant in this area so close to home. I have nothing negative to say only positives from how we were treated to how we were served, the quality of the food. A very pleasant evening we will be back!
Made Valentines reservations for 9pm. When making the reservation it lets you know that if you cancel there will be a $25 charge. I felt like that was weird but didn’t plan on canceling so I booked the reservation. We showed up at 8:45 and went to the host who told us it would be a 30 to 45min wait. I told them we had reservations and they said even with the reservation it was still a wait. I felt this was unfair because if I was to cancel I would have been charged. We were seated around 9:30. After that we had dinner from their Valentines menu which was good but they did not let me know ahead that was the only menu available. Over the food was excellent, but the service was terrible. We were there for a total of over 3 hours, so with being seated late and slow service we did not leave until after 11:30pm. I enjoy taking my time and not feeling rushed, especially on a date, but when you wait until 9 at night to eat and then don’t get your actual meal until around 10:30 it was a bit frustrating. I most likely won’t return. For the price the food matches but the service does not.
Our sincere apologies that we didn't meet your full expectations. We only enact $25 policy for popular events as most restaurants do now. We factor in that people like to linger however it's not full proof. All of the food is made at order, this does take more time and we are so happy you enjoyed it. Our servers get high honors so we would love to have you back so you can get the full WineSellar & Brasserie experience. Thank you for your feedback so we can continually improve! Lori Parker, Owner
Absolutely wonderful service and delightful food. I was only sad that the prefix did not include mushroom toast!
Wonderful Valentine’s Dinner (the day before Valentine’s Day)! This restaurant is the ultimate in fine dining. Greg is an exceptional waiter and the food was five-star level in every bite. The Pheasant with Truffle Risotto was exceptional as were the short ribs. Hope we can dine here again soon. Thank you to all who made our Valentine’s Day and 45th anniversary of my husband’s proposal so special.
We are so delighted that you had a lovely experience for your special, special day! We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you so much for the review and letting us know how much you enjoyed!
Birthday for a friend. A real gem of a restaurant in a very unexpected location. Will for sure go back
What a gem this place is! I always wanted to go there and finally I did! So far the best place I ever ate ate at! Best chicken piccata. Outstanding Chablis and our server Moro was very accommodating and very friendly. Superb!!! Thank you for a great experience! I will be back for sure!
The service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. The only negative at all was my duck breast was over-cooked.
Food outstanding. Service outstanding. Help with a wine selection was right on and worked perfectly with our dishes. thanks.
Lunch at the WineSellar the soups were excellent; the desserts very fine. The wine list, needless to say, offers fine choices by the glass.
Outstanding across the board. Can’t wait to come back.
Another wonderful dinner at WineSellar, with a great bottle of wine.
I've been here 20 or so times, for lunch and dinner; however, today was my first time back in years. Very happy to confirm the meal, the service and the value remain as great as I remember.
Very nice spot with excellent menu and great wine list. Comfortable and able to have a serious business discussion with privacy.
We loved dining in this cozy, quaint restaurant. My Sea Bass was out of this world and my boyfriend's Beef Tenderloin melted in our mouths. The service was exceptional by Gregory Frech, our waiter. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.
The ambiance was wonderful. The service was very slow. The food seemed wonderful until I got home, I had explained I had a serious allergy to gluten. I was told the dishes I ordered were gluten free. I do not believe they were prepared in a safe way. By the time I got home my stomach was bloated. I felt terribly nauseas all night and all the next day. This only happens with exposure to gluten, or if the food is bad. I had sweetbreads, and a ribeye. both had a sauce which I was told was gluten free. It must not have been or had cross contamination from cooking utensils. It turned what was suppose to be a wonderful evening with friends to a terrible disappointment and 2 days of feeling sick to my stomach. I was not sick. It was the food!
Consistently of the best lunch experiences in Mira Mesa
I had the duck two ways. The leg confit was the second best I've ever had. The best was from Baltazuar, New York. My duck breast was quite dry, but the sides were to die for. The butternut squash was rich and velvety. The roast root veg was carmelized just right with a little bit of char and the citrus wedges were inspiring. We did have to wait awhile for the entrees after the salad, but otherwise, everything was great. The compliment dessert for our anniversary was wonderful and much appreciated. I found out that the wine corkage is only $15 and the Patricia Green Pinot reserve sells for less than $30 in the wine shop downstairs. This is a great value!
