The Wine Bistro - Upper Arlington
Choose a table for two, a relaxed seat in the soft seating area, gather a group at one of the communal tables or in the private tasting room. Shop for wine priced at near state minimum or pay a small corkage fee (waived on Mondays & Tuesdays) to enjoy your bottle in-house.
We look forward to exploring great wine and food with you soon...
Beautiful, warm atmosphere. Plenty of options for small plates to pick at while enjoying a bottle of wine with friends. Just perfect.
Valentine's Day meal - we had the special three-course menu for $33 each, a good value. The food was good (salmon and short rib meals), the wine lovely and service was outstanding. The greeter was friendly and gave us a choice of several tables. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine offerings and brought me two samples before I chose a third for the meal. She checked back several times, but was not intrusive. We sat next to a window, but there were no cold air spots (this was the evening below 20 degrees). The noise level was noticeable, but comfortable and the table placement created privacy. Wine Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants for a special evening or informal meal with friends. We enjoy the Upper Arlington location, although we miss our neighborhood Bistro in Clintonville.
The food is decent, but probably bit over priced. The service, however, is a deal breaker. Our server was extremely slow and avoided checking in at our table even though she walked by several times. As for the kitchen, it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, something the server did not address until just before our meals were at the table. The food is good, but not good enough to overcome the very marginal service.
I made a Valentine reservation several weeks in advance but they tried to put us at a tall community table. My friend has a bad back so a stool is not workable. I had to fight to get a real table, then they rushed us and said we had to be done fast.
The food and wine were great as always, though I made the mistake of forgetting to have my dressing on the side, which really messed up my wine pairing. I won’t go back any time soon; there are too many better options.
Overpriced for the quality and service. They were short-staffed. Poor bartender had to serve us on the other side of the restaurant.
This was a repeat visit for us and we enjoyed our time, as usual. Our server was helpful with wine choices and we both enjoyed the wine we got. We were there early in the evening (5:30), so the service on our appetizer was super fast. We got the antipasto platter and thoroughly enjoyed it, although the cheese offering was pretty sparse. The warm bread was a great touch. We also got the pesto chicken flatbread, which was a bit heavy on the garlic flavor, and there were chunks of chicken which tended to be a bit dry, but the overall taste of the flatbread was good.
Good service, comfortable level of noise, and a nice place just to relax with a glass of wine and some tasty food.
Everything was wonderful but the kitchen was really slow. Our app and salads came out fine but we waited probably 45 minutes from the time we placed our order for the entrees. The ambiance and wine were very enjoyable so the wait wasn’t horrible , but were were getting hungry!
I LOVE the Wine Bistro! The vibe and atmosphere is very welcoming! My friend slipped and fell when first walking into the Wine Bistro and the hostess and servers were SO kind about it and helped my friend and made her feel better about it! The service was also wonderful! They had great wine and great food!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!!!
Lunch with friends. Waited a bit for our food. Not a big deal because we came to visit but some might object. One order was confused briefly.
We all had two glasses of wine. Should have noted the price for house Chardonnay. A little steep. Perhaps should have considered by the bottle.
Very good food. Quick/appropriate delivery of dishes. Will return
I went to meet a friend for dinner and realized it was restaurant week. The prices were fine and the service was stellar.
We had the restaurant week specials. Both the soup and salad states were very good. The salmon was very tasty and especially the orange flavored rice that it was served with. The chicken dish was good as well, bit e felt the salinity was the better of the two. We had had chocolate dessert and the sole crisp dessert. Both were very good.
The price for reach meal was good
This place is such a hidden gem!! My best friend and I do a monthly dinner together-always someplace new. I wish we would've gone here sooner-it was amazing! Hannah was our server and on top of it! Very sweet, great recommendations, and probably one of the best servers I've ever encountered. Our food was top notch! I got the salmon salad (amazing by the way-this coming from someone who is not a salad person) and my friend got the beef short ribs-so tender and good! We split the bread pudding for dessert...just overall amazing! If I could rate this place higher, I would! Their wine selection is amazing and the ambiance is very inviting. Can't wait to visit again!
We had a ver nice dinner at The Wine Bistro. The service at the bar was nice and relaxed. As the evening progressed and we moved to our table, the noise level increased. The food and the service were both excellent, however.
Very comfortable setting. Everyone in our group of 4 had something different and each enjoyed their meal.
This is the third year in a row we went Wine bistro for New Year eve. It a great place to go.
Great selection of wine
Nothing wrong with the food and the service was very good, just nothing special.
So enjoyed our anniversary dinner there! Quiet, romantic, & delicious food! And they treated us to dessert!
It was a quiet day (Lunch in New Year!s Eve). Service was very good. We enjoyed our wine and food and had plenty of time to visit with our party who were in town for the Holidays. Have had a good experience each of the few times we have been there.
Love the atmosphere and the food is so yummy. Unfortunately the service was poor initially. I was seated and placed a drink order. I sat there for a long time before my drink was delivered. It appeared they were down a server and they were busy. It took a long time in between orders for food, drinks and water refills.
Service was terrible. Very disappointed
amazing from start to finish! I recommend the short ribs!
Food was incredibly good. Bottle of wine excellent pricing. Service was delightful
Great food and atmosphere for a great value
We had a lovely meal - great atmosphere. Very lively! Food was delicious and the dessert (bread pudding) was outstanding! Someplace we return to again and again.
I have eaten at several Wine Bistros in our city and been very satisfied. Today while half-way through my meal the waiter reached over my shoulder and collected my unused knife and fork before I realized what he was doing. He didn't inquire if I needed my eating utensils he just took them along with utensils from others at my table. I have never had such a thing happen.
When I asked him what he was doing he said in a snarky manner that he was just clearing the table. Really, in the middle of us eating our meals no less. I told him it was totally unnecessary for him to do that and to please return them. The fact is I needed them to finish my meal. I am very unlikely to patronize this restaurant again.
Great server. Came to our table to check on us. Will totally go back!
Overall it was an amazing culinary experience. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing with an array of wines, woodwork and mood lighting.
The only disappointment was the steamed vegetables.
Thank you for a memorable anniversary dining experience.
Amazing hidden gem that I fell in love with!! Food quality was amazing! Had the steak salad and tried their steak frites and it was great! More on smaller size! Had veal meatball and mushroom risotto and it was perfect as well
Good service and food, however, atmosphere was noisy. Hard to have a conversation.
The restaurant got busy quickly and we ended up not getting our meal before we had to leave to go to an event.
The place was busy. We waited over an hour and our food still hadn’t gotten our food. We had a show to get to and had to get our food to go. We’ve never had that happen before.
We were in Columbus for a meeting at OSU. This restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. It was an excellent choice on a warm evening so we could sit outside on their patio. Good entrees, well prepared and good service including a delicious dessert.
We celebrated my wife's birthday here on a Sunday evening. It was very enjoyable. The wine was excellent, as were the cocktails. The food was very good as well, and reasonably priced. The service was impeccable.
Good food and excellent service. Highly recommended for small group meetings.
Highly recommend the food during Happy Hour until 6:00 pm every day, except Saturday. Some wines and well drinks also have great prices during this time. The truffled mushrooms were outstanding. Also loved the flatbread. I had Chicken Saltimboca (sp?) as my main entree and also highly recommend. My husband had salmon on his salad and he felt the salmon was a little dry and overcooked. Next time he will order rare to medium and it should be creat. In all, we had a great time with a special friend!
One of our favorite go to’s.
Excellent wine choices. Loved the Rustica Appetizer of meats & cheeses. Liked my entree however, wished they had more choices. Dessert was good but was hoping for more choices & chocolate. Service was excellent and attentive.
Entertaining a friend from out of town. Wonderful evening sitting outside, enjoying a great rose, appetizers, and salads. Natalie, our server, was great!
