It is permanently closed. I would have given it 0 stars if that was an option. No idea why Open Table would have closed restaurants available for booking.
Didn't care for the restaurant or the food. Owned by Hennessy's next door which is also undesirable. Did not give credit for open table reservation.
Perfect summer Sunday to meet girlfriend. Breakfast brunch menu great and MYO bloody mary bar a treat.
Went for Father’s Day and had a great time.
I miss this place. Moved to FL. Wine bistro was my neighborhood bar. Miss you guys!!!
Had the filet & lobster tail. Delicious and great value. Great service
Great service, food, fun, and drinks...as always! Thanks again for being a fabulous place with a very cool vibe. Thanks, Fabia. You are the bomb! Surf and turf deal cannot be beat!
Great Food - Great Service!
Was there for Mother’s Day. Th open table reservation I made was for 13, but there was some confusion when the first of my party arrived as to the number. We waited 45 minutes for our order to be taken, another 30 for food to arrive. My sister didn’t get her plate until most of us were done. We were comped party of our bill, but no one wanted to stay for dessert, which was a bummer for Mother’s Day.
Food preparation was disappointing. Pizza crust overdone, coconut chicken lacked coconut flavor. Specialty drinks okay.
Found this place on Open Table. Loved that we were able to make a reservation for brunch on Easter Sunday. The employees were so nice and pleasant. Food was good. Drinks were delicious. Loved their “make your own Bloody Mary” bar idea. Hope to be back soon.
Really great for a larger group. Friendly and attentive service, good food, good value
Delicious brunch, one our favorite spots!! Service is always wonderful and food is fresh and yummy!
Good discovery. Food was excellent. My only complaint was the cool air coming in from the windows behind us. It is probably a better restaurant in the warmer months. We would definitely go back. Also looks like they have great happy hour.
Wine Bistro never fails to deliver. Surf and Turf, yes, again! It was spectacular as always, cooked to perfection, large lobster tail and perfect cut of filet. I guess we got the last two that night, and I hope that doesn't mean the last two of the month. I'll go there again before the special ends. Service is always on point. Thanks again! I'll miss you guys when I have to move. Cheers!
Surf and turf. Enough said. Such a great deal. Great local place. Phenomenal food. Superior service. Chad may be new, but he’s as good as those that have been there for years. Thanks as always. I’ll be back before surf and turf ends.
We loved the meatball appetizer and the short rib pizza with truffle oil. Great selection of wines, Educated Guess Cabernet was my fav . Sat outside on the patio with heaters and was really comfortable. Service was very attentive . I would go back again!!
live music was a bit loud for conversation but generally a nice restaurant with good food.
The food was fabulous. Surf and Turf . Noted the Fire Pizza Oven - will be back. Want to try Braised ribs and Mac and Cheese and more. The bathrooms were clean (most important for a restaurant). The Restaurant was very clean! Great atmosphere. My husband was impressed with the food so that says a lot!
I love this place. Fabia is great, as are all the other staff. We went there for the Surf and Turf, which is a great deal!!! And tastes amazing, by the way. The food was a little slow coming out, which is VERY unusual for The Wine Bistro, but they were also having the international dinner night, which everyone else was enjoying, so that is likely the reason. I think they should have those specials on different nights because the international dish looked phenomenal, too. No worries, the Surf and Turf was worth the small wait (again, you usually never wait too long for drinks or tasty food). There were also several small children there, which again, was VERY unusual for The Wine Bistro. That is the only reason the noise level was moderate. Definitely will be back for Surf and Turf this Monday. Cheers!
Went there for Iran Wine pairing dinner but they had the Surf and Turf Special and the lobster was gigantic and the steak perfectly cooked. Great deal and fantastic service.
This was an absolutely awkward and embarrassing experience! We had been talking about "Wine Night" with some friends for a couple months, and finally invited them down to DP to join us. We made a reservation for 4, and even called the restaurant the day before to confirm that we intended to do the wine pairing menu. Upon arrival, it took us about 10 minutes to get someone's attention. When we said we had a reservation, we were told to sit "anywhere you want," which seems strange for a sit down meal. After getting "snaked" from our desired table by a foursome that walked behind us while we were talking to one of the staff, we sat down at a different table and waited for service. At no fault of his own, the extremely inexperienced waiter took our orders. 3 of us wanted to do the Wine pairing menu, and one wanted the tri-tip. He said he needed to check on something, went to the kitchen and came back to tell us that we would not get the full wine tasting menu because they did not have enough food to offer that to everyone. Oh, and they were out of the tri-tip, and the steak. At this point I started looking around for cameras thinking we were on some kind of practical joke TV show! Very uncomfortable! Sidenote- our reservation was for 7 pm and there were maybe 10 people inside when we showed up.
Anyway, since we couldn't get what we came for, we left and took our business elsewhere. I'm hoping that something went wrong that day for that restaurant to create such a comedy of errors, and hope no one ever has to have that experience there. As for me, I will not go there ever again, and would highly recommend to anyone considering eating there that there are far better options. It seems like a decent bar for a whiskey and a beer, which also seems weird for a place called the "Wine Bistro." If there was an option to give zero stars for everything but "ambiance," I would.
We enjoyed our dinner at The Wine Bistro. They graciously complied with my request to turn down the music so that we could have a conversation.
Food was tasty and there are lots of tempting options.
This place is always great. The staff is friendly, the food is tasty, and the drinks are amazing. The local music is always good as well. Great neighborhood bar, even if you aren't from the neighborhood. Thanks Fabia and Brent!
The restaurant offered great food. The restaurant was not busy enough for the slow service we received.
Great! Our server was awesome and gave great recommendations!
Still one of my favorites. Everyone is great! Had the seafood pizza, which is a first for me, but it was very good. Service is always on point. Brent did a great job. Always great to see Fabia as well. Everyone there always makes you feel at home.
Al fresco breakfast at 10 o'clock included delicious eggs Benedict and perfect buttermilk pancakes topped with peach maple syrup. We could see and taste the peaches in the syrup. I mopped up every drop. Server Eric was an excellent server. We will be back.
We had a delicious Monday night dinner with wine pairings. And a couple if truly outstanding cocktails. We look forward to trying more of the menu in the future.
Restaurant vacant. Food was poor, service not adequate. Will not return.
Still my go-to neighborhood bar in Dana Point. Service is always great. Food is tasty, whether it's a late night snack, dinner, but especially brunch! Cody was our server, and he was spot on as always. Thanks again!
Really enjoyed our experience! Had been for weekend brunch previously, but the restaurant on our visit Sun night was quiet and perfect for our special occasion. Special thank you to the manager for accommodating my last minute request to have flowers waiting at the table, and to our wonderful server for making such a great experience! We'll be back!
Best service! Great bar! Beautiful lighting! Delicious brunch 😊
Really good capers salad and burger. Music a little too loud for my taste.
Great find. Wonderful service. Great place to meet up with friends for dinner or a cocktail. Great music, food, and Vibes!
It was great! Food was delicious. Wine was terrific. Service was wonderful.
This was not my first experience dining here, however the first one with a reservation for a group. Our group was there for the Monday Night Wine Dinner which is an excellent value and highly recommend checking it out. The chef really does a good job of putting together creative menus and wine to pair with each course. The service was lacking but it looked like they had only two servers for a full restaurant and they were struggling to keep up, which doesn't make for great attentive service. The drinks were great- loved the maple old fashioned which was on their happy hour menu- highly recommend. Overall a great value on a Monday Night! I have tried other items on the menu and have not had anything I did not enjoy.
We have been to Chef John Byrnes Monday Wine Dinners many times and were happy to introduce four of our friends to it. As always the food was great while the service was interminably slow for most of the night. I was a bit embarrassed as my friends were obviously getting very impatient while awaiting their drinks. During the second course, the wine intended for the dish arrived after most were finished with that course. This is the first time I have had a complaint about the service and I hope that it is the last. I really enjoy the menu and Chef Byrnes creations for the wine dinners.
One of my favorite places in Dana Point. Great staff, great food, great drinks. The weekend brunch is a great deal. Ambiance is very nice. Bands are good. And Happy Birthday, Fabia.
The wine bistro has always been a great place for lunch. We went for dinner on a Friday night and the live band was so loud for the few customers. The live band was very good but we sat across the restaurant from the band and we could hardly hear ourselves talk. It would have been better if they weren't so loud!!
