We’d dined here a while back and it was fantastic. Things seemed to have changed with the food being a little more average. It’s a lovely dining room though and service was nice.

An amazing light dining room above a traditionally dark pub offering a excellent selection of food and wine. Not only is the menu good but the days specials are brilliant ... if you get there early enough to order as they are limited ... The service is just right .. helpful but not obtrusive .. my American guest was bowled over by the whole meal

Lovely traditional but upmarket London boozer which also does good food. You can eat downstairs in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant where it tends to be quieter. Good steak and helpful service.

Busy Friday lunch, but we were looked after just fine. Food main course very good (pork chop excellent), although beans were a little crisp for my taste. Good range of beers and other drinks. Desserts were disappointingly miniscule, the cheeseboard at £9 was simply outrageous (even for central London), 3 tiny pieces of cheese and 3 small crackers with chutney. Overall good, but I would not stay for desserts again.

I had been the day before for a work lunch and was so impressed that I booked dinner for a date night with my husband the next day. We were not disappointed. Fabulous food and very friendly service. Shame there was a rather noisy hen party in the corner and ladies loos out of order but these were compensated by the exceptional food. My husband nearly passed out the sticky toffee pudding was so good - no kidding! I also did not know it was actually possible to make a pork chop so succulent...

First time in a while, and what a disappointment. Previously it delivered very good quality cooking at sensible prices in its lovely upstairs dining room. The lunchtime my guests and I visited was quiet, but service was slow nonetheless and when it eventually was served the food was unimpressive. The pie of the day was particularly poor. It wasn't a pie, it was a stew with a pastry lid. As for the stew, so devoid was it of substance I had to ask for a spoon to consume it. Never again.

Food was excellent. Service could be better. The host/server on duty that evening seemed a bit put out at our arrival, even though there was only one other table seated in the restaurant the entire time we were there.

Lunch with a colleague. I was slightly disappointed by my main course, and the restaurant was freezing, but otherwise a good meal

HI NickH74, I am so sorry the restaurant was so cold. I have passed your feedback to the management team to address. I do hope you we see you back again despite this. Best wishes
