We had reservations. It took several mins after we were seated to have the waiter come over. Then it took about 15 min to get a glass of wine at which time we asked him to take our order. It was 1 hour and 15mins after we ordered and a table that come in after us without reservations and ordered 1/2 hour after use got their entrees. We left to pay for our wine and the waiter Kevin chased us out with our food. The manager told us we would not have to pay for our entrees and then made lot of excuses. We have had good food and service there but this time it ruined our experience. Food very good service iffy. The waiter did not come over at all to explain anything or why our food was delayed it was fish and chips.
The food was fabulous! Great staff! Not too noisy!
Excellent from start to finish!
Beautiful setting nice views food was better about nine months ago I understand they have changed chefs previous Chef was better in my opinion
Everyone was super nice. And food was yum! Great! Thank you all!!
Hotel had ambiance, a great view of the water, prompt seating, and was very close to home. Made for a great Valentine’s Day dinner.
Fabulous view on the deck! The waitstaff was attentive and friendly! Shrimp quesadillas were perfectly seasoned! We also appreciated the complimentary delectable raspberry dessert that we were given celebrating our valentine anniversary!
A very enjoyable meal. We dined mid-week. The crowd was moderate, the ambience excellent - we sat by the fireplace. The staff was very attentive but not intrusive, and very pleasant and friendly. Noise level was such that we were able to hold a conversation in low voices without any trouble. The food was excellent, blending a variety of unique flavors very skillfully into a delicious whole. Well worth a try if you haven’t been there. We will be back soon.
Always a great place to dine or have a drink seaside
Every item we tried to order (tuna tar tar, crab cakes , etc) were “not available”
I had organized a book group lunch at the MBH. Brian, our waiter, was wonderful. He was very discreet in handing me the check since it was my treat. He was attentive and helpful. Our group enjoyed the ambience and the meal.
My husband and I occasionally have dinner at the MBH, and in the evening we always ask for Kevin to be our waiter. He is friendly and professional, so we always enjoy ourselves.
We had a wonderful lunch. We are planning on coming back for your jazz brunch with a group. I’m sure that they’ll enjoy it as much as we did.
Excellent brunch, as usual. Our 5th time having brunch here and it’s always amazing.
It was a beautiful, romantic dinner. Food and service were spectacular as always.
We were blown away with the specials. Lobster bisque and lollipop lamb! Wish they were always on the menu!
New Year’s Eve
Our waitress was below the caliber I expect from this higher end restaurant.
Service was a bit slow but an enjoyable lunch outing.
This is the place to visit for anyone who is looking for a dining experience that features finely prepared food and a friendly and experienced staff in a simple, yet elegant setting. The view of Long Island and the Sound is an added bonus. There is also the choice of interior seating or outside dining on a three season porch.
The food and service were both excellent. We had a very nice time there and will be back.
Wait staff was excellent. Gnocchi appetizer was awesome. Kids meals are way overpriced.
This restaurant has good food and spectacular views of Long Island Sound. Outdoor area is dog friendly. Service is excellent. You really feel pampered when you eat here.
consistently great. the water views are outstanding.
Dinner was excellent, our waiter Brian was very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. Delicious food and the ambiance was wonderful.
We have gone to the Wharf several times. They did not disappoint. The food quality is excellent, and with a new chef, they are keeping the menu/selections fresh. The service is excellent. The ambiance and the location can not be beat if you like to dine along side the LI Sound. This time it was a special occasion and we had a great time.
Fabulous service from Cathy. Delicious food. Perfect setting for a “girl’s holiday lunch.” Thank you. Merry Christmas!
Always a professional, delicious & enjoyable evening out!
We have stayed away for years and decided to try it again. Big mistake. Everything about it was awful. The service, menu and the food. We were even seated next to rowdy bar patrons somehow.
As overnight guests we were excited to eat at here, sadly disappointed. Friday night ( 11/29/19 ) we both had the Tuna daily special, that salad on the side was hideous and should not be served to anyone. The bar.... don't get me started !! Whoever runs that bar should be fired, or at least TRY to mix drinks correctly. If it were not for that fact that we had MANDATORY VALET PARKING, I would have driven off to someplace else. We ate there on 11/30/19, maybe 1/2 a star better for that experience.
Consistently great food, service, setting and atmosphere. Love it!
Outstanding dining experience for a special occasion! Seaside view of Long Island Sound! Just a beautiful venue! I recommend it!
Was an enjoyable meal and great location since we were staying at hotel.
Don’t sit on the porch In the cold weather. They will tell you it’s heated, but they won’t tell you the heat Blasts down on your head while the cold air blows by your legs.
I don’t think this alone would’ve solve the other concerns, but it would’ve helped.
I loved this place! Perfect meal and date night for a weekend getaway with my wife!
The view was amazing! The food delicious!
We have not been to the restaurant at "The Wharf" in probably 15 years! We heard the entire place, hotel and all, was renovated and remodeled but just hadn't thought of going back. Doing errands on the shoreline a diner we like was too busy and we were hungry, my husband says, "What about that Wharf place?" So, we went. We're very glad we did and will be back.
Sat on enclosed, heated outside porch with beautiful views on Long Island Sound.
Met a friend for lunch and had a wonderful time catching up. We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and delicious lunch. I will definitely return for lunch and plan dinner with my husband soon.
The food was fantastic, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! They even gave us a booth in front of the fireplace so we could celebrate our anniversary in a more private setting.
