The prices were high for the quality of the food. Steak had charcoal taste. The service was fantastic.

First time dining here, as we were in town for the weekend. Booked a reservation via Open Table based on the reviews but received additional affirmations from several staff members at our hotel prior to going. We were not disappointed. Everyone was very friendly and seemed eager for everyone to have an enjoyable experience. You could tell there were several “regulars” having dinner just be watching the interactions among the hostess, and waitstaff. The menu is large enough to give several great choices, but not so large as to be overwhelming. There were also a nice selection of dinner and drink specials the night we were there. My husband had the ribeye and I had the prosciutto-wrapped scallops with fettuccine. Both were delicious. The portions would’ve been perfect had we not filled up on the scrumptious warm bread beforehand. The dessert tray looked inviting but we were too full to try anything. Overall, we had a great meal and felt like locals by the end of the evening. We’ll go back again the next time we’re in town!

The wait staff removed plates promptly after finishing each course. They delivered wine as ordered for the main course. The valet service was spot on.

Everything was amazing. Only thing was their porterhouse is MP. Most steakhouses don’t have that for this cut. Food and service was top notch. Cheesecake was amazing.

Fillet was everything you want one to be, but seldom is--super tender, perfectly grilled and seasoned. Sand dabs we were also a delight for this desert dweller--fresh and delicate. Great experience for our wedding anniversary!

I was so disappointed. The Whaling Station is our go to eatery in Monterey. The food was over salted, the service was slow and our server disappeared when we needed more water. The prices went up, which i can understand if the service was there. Sorry, that was our last time here.
