A café by day and smart brasserie by night, The Wet Fish Café & Brasserie is the perfect setting for cosy, romantic meals or lazy weekend brunches. Set in one of London's historic 'wet fish' shops in West Hampstead, the original Art Deco wall tiles and eclectic interior create a warm, neighbourly atmosphere. It is a hit with artsy West Hampstead locals who enjoy good jazz, cocktails and the Wet Fish Cafe’s own brand of “modern comfort food”. The seasonally changing menu is short and satisfying: it includes fish, meat and veggie dishes. Classics include the crispy squid with aioli, pollock with smoked lentils, chorizo oil and green beans, and rhubarb, ginger and almond crumble. The Early Bird menus are terrific value. Either pop in for pasta, fish or tapas between 4pm and 6pm with some truly enticing offers, or order by 7pm and return your table by 8pm for an irresistible deal on the prix fixe menu. And Early Bird offers are available all evening every Monday evening.

We had a really good meal. The food was excellent, well presented and well served and we enjoyed it. I would recommend it. One minor comment- as a local cafe/ restaurant it should open earlier than 10am for breakfast.

Took US friendss for supper & they loved it. Our waitress explained everything in detail & suggested extras & alternatives for our eclectic ordering. One starter of the lentil side salad, I had the hummus & fresh tomato salsa -separate bowls with divine toasted walnut & olive bread. The herring & apple was also a huge hit. All v interesting yet simple. I went off posted & had the braised ox cheek for main. Sublime. No dessert for me but I did tick into one of the cheese platters - huge, and more delicious bread. Glasses of house wine good, plenty of carafes of water 'on tap'. ... I can honestly say every visit has always been spot on. & restaurant decor fab with old fishmongers tiles still on walls. Excellent x

AIms to please and met the mark. As usual the Wet Fish did not disappoint and left me wondering why I don't eat there more often. Good food, cosy surroundings and good ambiance.

We tried out Wet Fish cafe for a change in our old haunt of West Hampstead. We had a lovely evening with good service and tasty food. The scallops starter was particularly memorable. Thank you!

The food was excellent, service friendly. The only thing we found was that everything seemed to come out very quick and it felt like we were being quickly turned around even though it had never been stated that they required the table back.

Been to Wet Fish before and it's pretty consistent from the scallops to the chocolate cake pudding. Although portions aren't overly substantial. Pleasant atmosphere and a good date venue. Wasn't too impressed with the Tom Collins cocktail I tried, which was insipid but that may have been my poor choice.
