What a beautiful venue and wonderful service. I will definitely be back!
And the food was delicious too!
Being fans of "good, tasty brunches" this is one everyone should try. The eclectic collection of items on the buffet was very nice! A good variety of seafood items: oysters, a collection of "bi-valves", sushi (rolls and nigiri); crab claws and specialty items e.g., pickled mackerel, smoked eel, octopus, etc. Entree station provided lots to taste: salmon wellington, chicken cordon-bleu; a carving station with beef, pork, lamb . . . oh just can't remember the other item; nicely presented salads (not in a huge bowl but individual-sized portions); and of course the desserts! The beverages include "anything you want", at least that's what our server stated; e.g., Bloody Marys, two "bubblies" white and Rose, etc. In summary; overall a great experience; tasty food, good service . . . definitely a cut above the "usual Sunday buffet brunch"!
The Westgate Hotel Sunday Brunch came highly recommended by a friend of mine and I surprised my wife for her birthday. It was everything I expected and so much more. The service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious. I will definitely return for those occasions where I really want to impress someone. My wife inquired about the High Tea and the staff was more than eager to tell us every possible detail. This was a 10 star experience, 5 stars doesn’t even come close to it! Thanks so much for making me look like a superstar. Our server was from Kenya (Stadmon?), I probably completely destroyed his name. He was exceptional, never have I ever been treated with such respect and grace. My wife felt like a Queen - Not to mention she always had a full glass of champagne. I love it!
Beautiful setting, great choices and excellent food! Perfect brunch in San Diego
We made reservations thru open table but when we showed up for brunch, the Westgate had no reservation for us. We had a confirmation number and received a message from open table saying our reservation was confirmed yet it did not show up on the hotels reservation list. There were also a couple of other families that made reservations thru open table but nothing on the hotels list. We would like for our points to be added to our acct. thx Steve
Esta bueno, la comida puede mejorar bastante, en general es buena opción.
This is by far the best Sunday Brunch spot in San Diego. We travel down here as often as possible to enjoy it. The food and ambiance is nice. The champagne is free flowing and high quality. I love that, if you are early or waiting on someone in your group, you can go into the little sitting area and have a glass of champagne or some fresh juice or a bloody mary. The only low spot this time was that our waiter got overwhelmed with new tables coming into his area. He was expected to bus AND set up the tables for the next guests. That took away from his attention to his current guests. Short staffed? But the food choices are excellent (lamb cheeks, yum). And we love the piano music and fresh roses on every table.
Fresh, creative food.
Food was well prepared, beautifully presented and expertly served by the buffet servers and preparers. The waiter staff was friendly and made us feel like honored guests as a three generation family group of 7 including one small child. Our honoree was our granddaughter for her 17th birthday, and she loved such a special celebration.
Always a wonderful dining experience. A cut above most other restaurants. Brunch is outstanding.
We were celebrating our Grandson’s 16th Birthday during our family’s visit from the Washington DC AREA. He is a growing boy and really enjoys a large variety of food. It was perfect! He had never been to a brunch, so the experience was a new one. There were 6 of us ages 14 through 81. Four of us were guests of the management. Although the cost per person is expensive, it is worth it! The waiter was phenomenal, the food was excellent, the servers at each station were friendly and eager to make your selection perfect. Addionally, the room was beautiful. We had a very memorable experience and highly recommend.
Beautiful room and nice music, the food was amazing. The wait staff very good and polite.
Best Brunch in San Diego. Favorite hotel. Beautiful decor.
Will come back again . Grandma’s definitely luv the ambience and the service. Thank you Juan.
Awesome champagne brunch!
Simply amazing Sunday brunch. My sister and I celebrated National Sister’s Day. The food was amazing with a variety for every taste: sushi, pasta, carving stations, seafood bar, and an entire room dedicated to sweets. The piano player added to the overall ambiance and European decor. I wish the service from the waiter matched. I think he was just stretched to thin with the tables he was covering. But I definitely plan to do brunch here again.
Excellent service for brunch. The food is okay. There’s sushi, carving station and crepes. I would love to see more seafood ie crab legs. The presentation is great except for the dessert room. Will come back again.
The Grande dame of Sunday brunch in San Diego. I do a lot of brunching around the area, and no one comes close to the refined, relaxed, and refreshing Sunday morning the Westgate team puts on. Shout out to the great, tenured servers, and the culinary team who must work all night prepping for that buffet spread. The price point may be high on first impression, but worth it in my book for the couple of hours of indulgence. I'm never disappointed, and I hope you are not either.
The staff, especially the waiters, made our dining experience enjoyable
This is my favorite brunch. Food and ambiance are fabulous. Unfortunately the service was not up to par for Fathers Day brunch. Been here at least a dozen times and the service was usually first rate. This time we couldn’t even find our waiter to clear dirty dishes or get refills for drinks and coffee. Had to ask three times for a new dry napkin because some champagne spilled.
The food is exquisite and it has good quality.it has a very good ambiance and good music.
The best brunch in San Diego. Actually, maybe one of those top 50 Best Brunches in the World.
Really, absolutely right up there with the top 5 brunches I have ever had, and I've had brunches all over the world.
Mother’s Day, as always the food was superb and and above and beyond. Especially the caviar!
Simply amazing holiday brunch offering. It costs a bit more but well worth it.
This was their famous Mother's Day Brunch and it never disappoints. Hats off to the chefs and a special to Martin our server.
John was a fantabulous server!
He made my Mother’s Day wonderful!
We have been dining on Sunday for brunch at Le Fontaineblue for many years. It is consistently high quality with excellent service. The presentation of both the table settings and the overall decor of the dining rooms is exceptional. On special occasions, such as Mother's Day, nothing on the buffet menu is abbreviated, in fact, there are many additions to the regular offering to ensure all tastes and age groups are accommodated. This is the best brunch in San Diego, bar none.
Great Mother’s Day brunch, max was our sever and he was very attentive. Food was great, and the maitred was friendly and showed us around since it was our first time there. Will be back for sure. Loved it!
The setting was very nice and without question far better than any brunch at the Del on Coronado. At the Del they feel their name is all they need, customer service and ambiance is non-existent. This Mother's Day brunch albeit chairs and tables were stuffed everywhere and there were a few glitches it was still far better than The Del by a looooong long shot.
Food was delicious. A cut above any Sunday Brunch offered by other restaurants.
The food, service and ambiance are wonderful. Enjoyed every minute!
We go here every year for my birthday celebration always a pleasure.
Excellent ambience, superb selection of food, fantastic customer service and beautiful decor. A great place to celebrate a special occasion!!!
We’ve dined at Westgate’s Sunday Holiday Brunch for 12 consequetive years and have never been let down! Although this year the noise was overwhelming, children playing in and around the tables, even disturbing the piano player or playing the piano when he was on break. Inappropriate.
We've been coming to the Westgate for Easter Brunch for many years. This year, the service was a bit lacking, and some food items, like smoked salmon and certain sashimi, weren't displayed. We had to ask for the item. Shouldn't be this way on a buffet. Had to ask for coffee and then the coffee was never refilled. Also had to ask for refills on water. The food was outstanding, as it is every year. The price of $89 per person is a bit steep.
We went for Easter brunch, so it was definitely busy. I was disappointed because it wasn't as good as it was two years ago. The sushi rice was horrible. The crepe station had premade crepes instead of making them fresh. Some of the food seemed dry or overcooked. The man cutting people prime rib didn't seem to know how to actually cut into into edible slices. They also overcharged my father who paid in advance. They said a child was 11 in under when he spoke to them, although the website says 12. We then paid over 50 dollars extra. Not okay. Upon check in the man sitting there on ipads and everything was unable to help us and made us stand there for quite some time while a line formed. Once the woman returned everything went well. They had tables in every possible place making it very hard to maneuver without disturbing other diners. Was very disappointed since this was so different from our previous experience.
Very nice hotel/restaurant. Food was not as good as we were expecting....but it was a brunch. Really great selection. Some items were terrific, others not so great. Example, the prime rib was not flavorful and very tough.
Bill for Easter brunch was $192. For 2 people including tax. For the quality of the food, a bit high.
Went for Easter brunch. After it was all said and done it was over 300 bucks for 2 adults and 2 kids. The menu was large, food decent. My main issue is paying 35 for each kid and being told they only have OJ for them to drink. It wasn’t even that we paid that and only had Oj to choose from, it was the attitude from our servers. They seemed annoyed to have to “ deal” with our table of 2 well behaved kids.
The Easter bunny was advertised for the brunch and walked by us once and barely paid attention to kids. Even the bunny seemed annoyed at life. They had also advertised a face painter and we never saw them. I asked someone and they didn’t know either. Again, just not the level of service you would expect.
Overall I wouldn’t go back and I would spend the money at the Hotel Del. Better service and more kid friendly.
The quality and quantity of the food was unbelievable. Great value with nice ambiance.
Excellent food and service, every time! The food was delicious and there were so many choices! We love going to brunch here!
