The foods was wonderful. The service was not to expectations. I have been here 5-6 times in the past and service was always wonderful. However, this time was opposite. We were barely acknowledged. Had to ask for orange juice over and over again. One time someone came over to a actually ask us if everything was good but when we told him we needed orange, he never showed back up with it. the staff seems to be in bad mood because you barely see a friendly smile. This from a hotel like Westgate. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and hype up how wonderful it is there but we were sadly disappointed.
We waited for almost an hour, however the manager Sad was very apologetic snd sincere with his explanation and we were given the best service. Sad nade up for our long wait. My compliments to Sad and the Chef for the excellent food set up in the buffet.
Our experience was exquisite as always. This is our go to place for special occasions and dates.
Money well spent! We used to go to the Ritz Carlton for their Sunday Brunch, but they've eliminated their buffet and started serving a la carte, so The Westgate Hotel is our go to for brunch now. They have so much more variety of food than the Ritz ever did, but the same 5 star level of service!
We have been to the Westgate Sunday champagne brunch numerous times and have never been disappointed!!! The warm setting, diverse choices, peerless presentation, congenial staff, and unrushed dining make this one of the finest brunches we have ever enjoyed anywhere. We highly recommend it.
This is our favorite "splurge" brunch. Pricey, but you get so much and all of it wonderful! From seafood bar, sushi bar, omelette station, multiple carving stations, all fantastic. Champagne and bloody mary's to boot!. Crepes, mini donuts, and 15 kinds of ice cream. What's not to love? Great to go back and find it's as good as you remember.

Hotel del Coronado was not offering a brunch so we tried the Westgate. Fantastic choice and a worthy alternative. Food selection and quality was very good with few misses, service was excellent, very nice surroundings. Of note, many of their offerings were in pre-determined portions, which our party very much appreciated. Have already mentioned to friends for when they travel down to San Diego.
I could not find a designated place to check in. It was confusing and very frustrating
We love coming to The Westgate Hotel for everything, especially the Sunday brunch. We’ve been coming for many years, always intimate, less crowded but the nicest ambiance. It’s a smaller buffet, but everything they make is good. Taste and seasoning is on par, service is very attentive and the added touch of live piano music makes everything that much better.
Love the raw bar, sushi and caviar. Craving station with prime rib, leg of lamb, pork roast and also salmon Wellington, too much to choose from. Too much to describe but we love it.
The dessert bar is a staple from their brunch that they house all of it in a separate room.
We came to the Westgate for New Year's Day Brunch. The food was food and the location was beautiful. We were surprised that the service was not up to par. Our server brought coffee, but no spoon for cream and sugar. He took away plates and silverware, but did not replace the silverware with new. He seemed to remember some things, but forgot others. We were disappointed with the service.
Our favorite celebration brunch place. Pricey but well worth it. Definitely the place for seafood lovers

Went here for Christmas buffet. It is a spectacularly beautiful place. The food was great, especially the oysters, sushi and desserts. The lamb cheeks were probably the most delicious meat I've ever eaten.
The beet salad was great. Unfortunately it was labeled as beat salad. Sigh. Still, tasted great!
Everything in the buffet was replenished promptly. Clearly dirty plates were not cleared from my table in a prompt manner. Really!
Two forks, two knives, no spoon. Do I stir my coffee with one of my forks? My pinky?
It really is a lovely and unforgettable place. I just have quibbles.

Sent from parking garage to second floor brunch room, then back down to lobby to check in and receive table assignment. Our roll-away room service table was located in a narrow outside hallway. The ‘brunch’ didn’t include any breakfast items, the soup was cold, (soup spoons non-existent); no salad bar - just tiny little finger tip bowls with a pinch of salad, no turkey or chicken offered (for no red meat diners); sushi was good but had to wait to have it made (demand outweighed supply). All fresh berries in the dessert room were hoarded by the crepe makers and coffee was warm/not hot. Had to ask twice for our check, which we finally received at least 15 minutes after initially asking. We booked our brunch reservations based on the great reviews their Holiday Afternoon Tea received. We were sadly disappointed and left hungry and $400 out of pocket.
We did holiday brunch in 2018 and it was great. We made a reservation to go on Christmas Day, with the same expectations as last year. The food was not good. The selection was not great. The seafood (clams, mussels, oysters) was dried out and shriveled. Very unappealing. The hot food in the tins was old and dried out. I tried as much as I could, but did not go for seconds. When I looked a second time, to see if the "new" food looked more appetizing, I was disappointed to see that it either hadn't been replaced, or looked just as bad as before. The best part was the asian section and the dessert. Not worth $120.
The most delicious brunch for Christmas we've every had. Wonderful, fresh sashimi and sushi, great stations for asian cuisine, carving station and desert stations too.

The food was outstanding. Plenty of options for kids and adults. Very fresh and delicious. Everyone there was overly helpful.
Horrible. The valet is not at front of hotel, well there is a doorman who will tell you to pull into garage to valet. For that you could park yourself as the rush and ambiance is killed. Then you exit 2nd floor into an impressive looking buffet room... don’t expect any service as there is no one to greet you or acknowledge your reservation. Once seated (which was a whole mess unto itself); expect a lovely young wait staff. The buffet is far from what one would expect. The food is not made in the hotel kitchen. Most of the hot items are frozen from a box then fried or cooked in front of you. The seafood is basic and missing essentials such as hot sauce, drawn butter, basic fish fork. The oysters are not cleaned as shell parts are found, the mussels not de bearded thus not cleaned, sushi rice sweet and dense. The desserts again majority not homemade. Nice chocolate fountain although the strawberries were not fresh but frozen so they were mushy and watery. All in all horrible food, adequate service in a beautiful room.

We had a great experience. I just wish that parking is complimentary. We had three cars and paid for three cars added expense. this could prevent us from dining in the future. The foods were delicious. they had cheese and no crackers.
I was served only a layer of fat from the lamb because it ran out and wasn't replaced. The hot food was cold and tasteless, except for the mashed sweet potatoes. My server showed up three times in two hours. Very disappointing experience.
Thanksgiving Brunch. Was very, very, nice but certainly not outstanding. Great desert offerings. We had heard so much about it. Was actually a little disappointed. Again, very nice but would not go back. Our waiter was very nice, but very forgetful.......
I actually went for Thanksgiving, not Sunday brunch. The food was terrible. Nothing was enjoyable to anyone in my party. Very disappointing for $100/person. A lot of other guests were vulgar. Some of them talked loudly about getting ham butt and butt juice.
Most of the staff were lovely and helpful, but our server seemed to become overwhelmed. We were unable to get coffee and had to ask our manager for our check after trying to attract our server three times.
I definitely would recommend avoiding this in the future.
Great Thanksgiving Day meal. The service was excellent. The food was excellent as usual. There was a guest in my area that was loud and obnoxious but the staff addressed the issue. I will be back next year. Keep up the great service.
Having enjoyed the Westgate Sunday Brunch many times -- and loving every visit -- we decided to go to its Thanksgiving Buffet. We were not disappointed! Food selection was varied and excellent, service was first rate, and the ambiance was classy without being stuffy. It was truly an exceptional dinner at an exceptional location.
This was our first time here and it was for the Thanksgiving Buffet. Everything was fantastic. Or servers, Sunny and Seamus were extremely accommodating and attentive. Really an overall great experience.

Probably one of the most unique buffets you'll ever experience very high-end. Everything was fresh ,excellently prepared and arranged except the crab claws which had zero taste perhaps it is a seasonal thing but there's a hundred items more where that came from. The desserts are to die for so leave some room. Get the root beer float for something very original.
This was a gift and WOW! BEAUTIFUL SETTING. Selection and presentation displayed were so unique. Definitely a special occasion dining.
The service was terrible. Had a reservation for my group of 5 and the "Maitr'D" refused to seat us in the main room because my reservation didn't state that, despite the fact that the main room tables were half empty. He wanted to give us the worst table in the house (looked like a banquet hall) but after a much too lengthy argument he caved in and "allowed" us to sit in the main room- making it sound like he was granting us the world's largest favor. I found the experience quite jarring as we were there to celebrate a birthday and he was just on a power trip. No one ever sat down at the tables that remained open either!
Always enjoying coming to this brunch before our Sunday matinees downtown. Service and food are always terrific!

This was our second visit for brunch and we were a bit disappointed the first time but thought we would try again and we were certainly impressed, food was fresh and hot, delicious deserts and the champagne was much better. Service was outstanding!
I have been here 3-4 times in the past. Food quality lacking. Used to have snow or king crab claws. Just had jonas crab claws—terrible. Sushi cut way too thick. Mac cheese dried out. Prime rib was the highlight. Desert were acceptable. Service was outstanding. Plenty to drink.
