About
We came early they were able to get us in 15 minutes early
The Well does a nice brunch. However, I made reservations for Mother's Day right after Easter and we were seated with my elderly parents and son at a high top table with metal stools. They were super uncomfortable for all of us. Almost all of the other tables had chairs. The staff called twice to confirm our reservation, so there was no doubt we were showing up and we were a few minutes early so it's not like they gave our seats away. Super frustrating.
The customer service was top notch, the quality of the food was perfect and the price is very reasonable.
If you want the perfect Sunday brunch spot... This Is It!!! Great ambiance indoor and outdoor, with beautiful rooftop. Awesome place to watch sporting events with plenty of TV's. Large tables and private rooms for bigger gatherings. And the FOOD is a 9.9!!! Great spread!
Very pleased with the food, the service and atmosphere. Thank you!
Reservation Or Not:
We decided to do reservation our first time as the rating for Sunday brunch were so high we thought it might be swamped. We chose to be at the restaurant at 10am, much to our surprise it was not busy at all until around noon. Then it was almost packed. So plan your Sunday brunch based on what meals you want to eat brunch for and make a reservation if you plan to arrive much past
Atmosphere:
I have come to the Well since I lived in Waldo 10 years ago. The Well for me a staple of Westport and has always been a strong bar that among other great things has the largest outside deck in Westport. The Sunday brunch is a newer item added to this already great bar. The bar is unlike most in the area if you plan to EAT ONLY. During Sunday brunch the Well had a very inviting and warm glow. White table clothes stung over every single table the food was served from made it feel like a nice establishment. The use of high end serving trays and warmers again makes it feel like an expensive restaurant.
Food:
The food was absolute to die for. It hard to put a spin on breakfast. Anywhere you go you typically get the exact same things and they taste the exact same. Some of my favorite items are listed below.
Biscuits & Gravy - The biscuits we were and fluff. The gravy while extremely chunky had an outstanding flavor. The right amount of gravy rounded out this dish perfectly.
Waffle Bar - The waffles were being just as fast as the guests were taking them. Warm batter fluffed up nicely and paired well with the half dozen toppings.
Omelet Bar - Dozens of toppings and sides are displayed amount them are 4 different kinds of meats. The person behind the counter can speak to any selection your heart's desire.
Were well prepared had a great spot
For band and server was great
Dined here for the first time while participating in the geeks who drink trivia night. Back room bar was spacious and drinks were very good.
The drinks were excellent. Atmosphere was fun and our first server was terrific. Second server for dinner was not around much. Food was good but not outstanding.
My husband and I celebrated his birthday with our daughter and her husband during KC restaurant week. The selections were good for the occasion. They had prime rib on the restaurant week menu (this is currently not on their regular menu) and both my husband and I ordered that. The meat was cooked perfectly to our order and was HUGE. We enjoyed the leftovers for 4 days afterwards! It wasn't crowded and was very easy to get to. Plenty of parking. I will eat there again for sure!
We tried it out for restaurant week. We were very pleased with the food. The scallops were amazing. Dessert was amazing Took about 13 minutes for a waitress to come over but they were extremely busy. Was more of a bar atmosphere than I was expecting but would absolutely eat there again.
Great food
Open on Thanksgiving and WHAT A FIND!!! We were meeting family to eat and then head to The Plaza Lighting Ceremony . . . AWESOME!!! So fun and THE FOOD!!! We had Bruschetta and Spinach Artichoke app - YUMMY! Main dishes were so good we all had to share bites!!! Thai Chicken wrap was the surprise winner 100% across the board - girls and guys!! The Reuben was amazing! Burgers disgustingly good! And I had the Baja Fish Tacos!!! Portions were great - overall FANTASTIC value!!!
Went for Sunday brunch and food was good. Price point is decent. Bartender was great, thought he over charged us and realized after leaving he didn't 🙁.. feel bad for that. Overall good
The food and service were really good. Lots of variety. I was disappointed in the seating. The standard seating tables were too large. No tables for a smaller group except high tables and older people can’t use those tables.
Brunch was the plan....very below average food was what we got.
waited 30 min for waitress, hostess seemed upset with our party of 8, like not expecting us. Requested standard table, seated at high top. Had party of 10, said 8 the max, then saw a bachelorette party of 15????, 2 hrs to dine, late for Brew at the Zoo, birthday dinner, was never acknowledged, put us close to the bar, people standing at bar loud, rude, bumping us. Noise level was NOT energetic, it was obnoxious. Third an last time to dine at The Well.
We had out-of-town guests and needed a place where we wouldn't have too long a wait for dinner as we all needed to be elsewhere later that evening. Oddly, the hostess couldn't seem to locate our reservation though I had received confirmation from Open Table. They were able to quickly clear a booth for our party though it was cramped for a party of five.
The food at the Well is your typical bar fare. The selection is varied so one can find something to please their palate. I had the fried fish tacos and enjoyed them. It is a neighborhood gem.
It was a beautiful evening and not many there on a Monday so it worked well for our group conversation.
Went on a Monday Afternoon for my birthday and ended up having the entire back patio to myself. Seth was a GREAT waiter, he made excellent suggestions.
Overall, my group of 8 enjoyed the food for Sunday Brunch. We did think after viewing the website that brunch would be served on the rooftop also. We sat at a round booth inside with 8 people which was a bit inconvenient for a brunch. We all agreed that more choices of food rather than of desserts and pastries would have made it a 10 in our book. Like I said, overall we enjoyed the Well.
Only concern would be the coffee wasn't hot - ever. Food delish! Great buffet selections for brunch and I'm not a fan of buffets. Definitely try it. Seems like it would be great for watching sports with friends.
Great food and good bloody Mary Bar.
Enjoyed my experience, and my waiter gave excellent customer service
Very nice brunch could use speedier service
We had a lovely visit. The roof is open seating, aka bar service. We sat there, so the service wasn't great and our waitress took quite a while in between visits. She wasn't the only person up there, but she had several tables. We arrived at 6 and hadn't ordered food until 6:30. If you want open air seating and good service, eat downstairs--on a nice day they open the garage door walls. The cocktails were interesting and delicious. Their menu had typical bar food but we didn't order that! The food was all very good.
We brought our Dad and spouses for Father's Day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will be back again in the near future just to relax! Our server Emmitt was very helpful and polite. Excellent customer service.
The Stewart Family
This was not our first time at The Well. Service is always marginal, but the food tends to make up for it. Lots of tall tables so when reserving you should ask for a regular height table if that is what you want. The noise level is always LOUD in here, doesn't matter if it is packed as it was on Sunday, or not. Conversations can sometimes be a challenge. Went for Sunday Brunch and would suggest that the restaurant add stacks of bowls by the fruit bar and plates by the desserts and waffles - that would save a lot of back-tracking. Passing up food and people just to get a plate and return to what you really want. Will go back again.
The 'Well' provided a full selection of brunch food options, from B & G, to fresh fruit, many mini-deserts, omlet bar, meats & veggies and waffles plus 'build your own bloody marys'.
Getting around the tables, steps and lots of kids to the food was tricky. Service was spotty but friendly.
Lots of good food for the price: nice Sunday brunch option.
The service was very poor. Waiter said he was sick and really didn't want to be there. It showed.
I made reservation and put special note that our party will be have two babies will need sling and we got there did not have table ready ( never read our special instructions( for our party right away we have to wait for 15 minutes to get a booth table. Service and food was good.
Besides the wait for our table, everything was delicious as usual. Really enjoyed the seafood & carving stations added on for Mother's Day Brunch, as well as the flowers given to the Mother's after brunch, really a nice touch! Also the bottomless mimosas were mixed to perfection! I will be returning in the near future!!
We made reservations for the Mother's Day Buffet. The food was good. I was excited about the bloody mary bar, but it was more expensive than it should have been for what they had to offer. We were also seated in an extra room in the back which was inconvenient when dinning with a toddler. I expect better seating when I have a reservation.
This is the second year we have gone there for MOther's day Brunch. It is always wonderful. The food is overwhelming. So many choices and something for everyone. I highly recommend it.
My meal was made wrong twice...
We made our reservation for a bachelorette party dinner. When we arrived they informed us that they did not have a table for us and it would be awhile. We waited about 20 minutes and the host told us we could go to the patio he had a table, as we were walking to the patio door a waitress stepped in front of us and proceeded to yell at us that we could not go out there it was reserved, I explained that we were told to come out here by the host and she said the sign says it is reserved so we needed to wait until the sign was down! By far the rudest waitress I have ever came across! So we went back to the front to wait and a while later the host told us he had a table on the same patio for us, he walked us out and we sat down, where the manager proceeded to come out and tell us we could not sit there he had a party reservation, I told him we also have a reservation and we would go back inside if he had a table for us to go to. He found us a table, went inside and the waiter did not come over for about 10 more minutes... in that time the host brought menus and we looked them over and the menu on the website is not accurate, they do not have steak or chicken all bar food. We decided to call our ride and leave.
We were there for over 50 minutes and never did get to order anything. I would not recommend this restaurant, was very disappointed with the whole experience. Wait staff was rude and service was terrible. They should not take reservations if they do not really acknowledge them in the first place.
I love coming to The Well, it's always really great food. The service is always awesome as well. Super nice people!
Easter brunch was awesome. Great food selection and variety. The staff was friendly and attentive
Service inside the restaurant was significantly better than on the rooftop patio. Our intent was to enjoy our meal outside, however we did not receive service for 20 minutes. Our non-existence server did not acknowledge us once. Inside we received excellent service and great food!
I went to Sunday brunch with my husband, daughter, my brother, his wife, and two kids. Everyone enjoyed their brunch and the waitress was very attentive.
