First time visiting the Waterfront restaurant. It was our anniversary and it was the perfect setting. Matt was our waiter and he didn’t rush us. He made it a very pleasant experience. We will return.
Our last night in Anna Maria, we went to this lovely restaurant. We had the mussels for an appetizer and they were amazing, as well as our salad and entrees!
Service was extremely slow. It seemed as if they were understaffed. 4 of the 8 entrees were over cooked. I’ve been to waterfront 4 times and this was the worst experience ever. We will not be back on our next trip.
The hostess was horrible! She was condescending and incredibly rude. I couldn’t believe the waterfront allowed us to be treated so poorly. The hostess actually walked past our table multiple times throughout our dinner and glared at us.l so unfortunately she made it difficult to forget how poorly we were welcomed.
I have been to waterfront over 20 times. My husband and I purchased our 2nd home here last year and plan to continue investing in real property on the island. We both also have relatives on the island. After our last meal I would hesitate to honestly go back to the waterfront again. Although there are limited restaurants of this caliber on AMI I will take good service any day over being treated like garbage by a 17 year old for no reason. What a disappointment.
The Waterfront was recommended by a friend and was the best meal we had all vacation.
Sat at the outdoor side patio which still gave us a small view of the water. Great atmosphere, food was outstanding, cocktail was amazing and service was spot on. Would definitely hit this if you're spending any time in Anna Maria Island.
Overall nice place. It's rated highest on the island but in our opinion that's a bit of a stretch. We had a 6PM reservation and was seated by 6:10p.m. The service is mediocre we would say. She was trying but I believe they may have been understaffed. The appetizers and food were good. We didn't experience amazing but good relative to price. The atmosphere is really neat on the inside. It's a little cramped which all restaurants are on AMI but nice. We would probably dine here again.
Our 10+ visit to The Waterfront. Quality of food is consistent - very good to excellent. Servers are attentative, though this late in the season, they are getting tired. The seating hostess seemed to be the least friendly, and unfortunately that's the first person one sees. It's difficult to cater to such a transient clientele and maintain a personal touch, and admitantly, some servers do better at this than others. Our server on this visit was excellent; he has been at the WF for 10 years. Fried green tomatoes are a must for an appetizer. Tried the Grouper entree on this visit - it was outstanding. Reservations are a must if you want to sit inside, especially during winter months. Patio dining is nice on a first come, first serve basis; though patio can get noisy we have found. Very small bar area, not designed for dining, but we have had some fun times sitting at the bar, eating light and watching the entertaining cocktail afficiados.
Getting old and tired in ambience and in food delivery. It alls needs a major update. Beer selection still stellar but major overhaul needed as past laurels don’t suffice in this day and age.
Not returning for dinner until we hear these things have happened but may stop by for late lunch burger and beer in bar.
The meal was excellent, with a complete menu. We preferred to sit outside, but didn’t want to wait the 40 minutes for an outside table. You can’t reserve a table outside as it is first come, first serve. Nice ambiance inside though!
My date ordered Cobia and was impressed in freshness and how delicately it was prepared. I had the Crab dinner and will have again. He ordered Blood Orange Cheesecake that was delicious. He had Tito’s on the rocks and I had Italian Pino Grigio. BTW we had the Salmon appetizer which never disappoints! It’s my favorite place on AMI. Have to have reservations for inside or if you feel lucky, don’t. Not needed when eating outside.
Went to dinner during a girls weekend. Definitely make a reservation! This is a very popular place and the wait can be over an hour but totally worth it. The food is always excellent. The menu changes so food choices stay fresh. The staff is always friendly. We had an excellent meal and loved the ambiance.
Very nice restaurant with wide selection of food choices, good server, and beautiful view of the Tampa Bay bridge.
Wow were we ever disappointed!! After reading several reviews saying this place had the best food on the island, we decided to make the Waterfront our first meal on Anna Maria Island. But after tasting the bland Oscar Grouper, blackened caramelized brussel sprouts (they were not a pretty sight) and bland mashed potatoes (the potato of the day) we looked forward to trying other restaurants. We would not recommend this restaurant. It is dumpy looking from the outside and you can't see any waterfront from the restaurant. And we are happy to report that we did enjoy several delicious meals from many other restaurants on the island.
Enjoyed another wonderful dinner at the Waterfront. We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday, and even received a piece of Key Lime pie with a candle on it. Great Place.
Great food and very friendly, capable service. A worthwhile stop when you're on Anna Maria.
A great restaurant to have dinner with close friends.
The food and service was very good. The waitress was friendly and personable. The manager was friendly and personable also.
It is one of our favorite places to go eat on AMI!
A wonderful restaurant that is committed to creative and extraordinary cuisine but humble enough to honor request for changes
Great service as well
Had a wonderful meal here this week. The atmosphere is reasonably casual and the food was well above average at average prices. Good value. Our waiter was way above average. He made us feel right at home and went out of his way to fill a request that was out of the ordinary. Best eating experience we have had on Anna Maria so far.
first time here and it did not disappoint. The grouper tacos must be shared and not to be missed. The tuna dinner was extraordinary and very large portion. No issue with wait staff at all. I would go back.
Our booking was at 6.15 and we were finished two courses with wine by 7.05pm. The service was rushed and perfunctory- it certainly didn’t feel in any way special. I expected better for the price.
The kids fish was deep fried beyond recognition- I would have loved a kids option of grilled fish. My crab cakes were ok but the mashed potato they came with was lumpy & overworked. I ordered a side of green beans only to find my dish came with them. My server did not point this out. My husband’s halibut was very nice but he wasn’t keen on the high volume of pineapple this was served with as the juice from the pineapple was swimming round the plate. No one said goodbye to us as we left. Overall, I wouldn’t go back.
A M A Z I N G !!! 👍👍👍
The food, ambiance and general feel of the restaurant were superb. The views of the water were wonderful. The loud conversation and constant dropping of "f-bombs" by an old woman at the table behind me diminished slightly a most enjoyable dining experience. I am not a believer in "the customer is always right", particularly in a situation like this. This vulgar individual should not have been allowed to conduct herself in this manner.
The name of the restaurant is misleading, there are very few views since it's across the street from a beach side parking lot. Service and food are amazing!
Everything was perfect! Fantastic service, cozy atmosphere, nice view and the food...amazing! We had three courses and every bite was amazing!
It’s great when once in awhile you experience exceeds your expectations. Most people we know love The Waterfront. Me, not so much on a previous visit last year. This time it was as good a meal as we’ve had on the island. We had the calamari app, the tropicale salad and the wonderful MOQUECA. It’s a Traditional Brazillian stew with the essence of coconut and lime, pink shrimp, Tampa Bay clams and fresh fish. It’s served over cilantro marinated basmati rice. It was split for us and it was plenty for two. Add a bottle of wine and it made for a wonderful dinner. We are now fans of The Waterfront!
This is our favorite Anna Maria restaurant. The best cocktails and perfect diverse menu. Can’t miss
Get the calamari—it was spectacular!
Wonderful waitress, great food, scenic location.
The Waterfront sits looking at the Anna Maria beach and Tampa Bay across the street offering two cozy outdoor dining options with a diverse menu. A very relaxing place for lunch or dinner on a warm day.
Always a pleasure to dine at The Waterfront. We are reliably repetitive customers to this wonderful restaurant.
Tasty. But it is always difficult to get a table. Personally it was not possible, nur with open table..... strange
Great food and great service for a pre-Easter meal on Anna Maria Island. Table was ready for our reservation time which made it nice to enjoy a good meal and still "get to the beach" in time for the magnificent sunset. A very nice touch to recognize the daughter-in-laws birthday (key lime pie and very creative presentation).
Family vacation dinner
My husband and I loved this restaurant. The food was outstanding! I had the shrimp and grits. He had a filet with potatoes. We shared the smoked salmon appetizer. Everything was perfect! Best meal we had during our week in Anna Maria Island. The food is NOT inexpensive but totally worth it. We ate at the Waterfront on our last night in town. Wished we would of went earlier in the week so we could of gone twice! Make your reservations early or you won't get in!
Great service & wife selection for “picky” eaters. Great bar & bartenders.
We were able to a reservation for that evening (inside only as outdoors is no reservation). Our server was great explaining gluten free option to me.when the runner brought the food I questioned if it was gluten free - it was not. Judy swept in saying don’t eat that and had the replacement out in a timely manner. Great food, great atmosphere and a fun place to eat in Anna Maria.
Our waiter was a little odd. He did not apologize for bringing the wrong beer, seemed a little socially awkward. Food was fabulous as always! We eat here on every trip to AMI!!!!
Always consistently excellent. The mussels were fabulous, as were the salads.
