Four of us had the lobster roll special. The lobster roll was excellent but the potato salad was a little strange and the coleslaw also tasted different. We had two appetizers that were excellent. Outside dinning is often interrupted by noisy traffic going by. Even though understaffed this night service was very good.
This is one of our favorite restaurants and we are nearly always happy after dining there. We had the lobster roll and my mouth is salivating at the thought of it! Just delish!! There were some people in our vicinity with "loud voices," but I guess that can't be helped. It becomes contagious---one person speaks loud and then another speaks louder and on it goes. The biggest problem was did we want to eat outside or inside? Since the reservation was made some days ago and we had no idea what sort of weather might happen we played it safe and ate indoors. That was fine.
The food and service were excellent, and the ambience was perfect. We were there for our 30th anniversary, and it was a fantastic evening. Our server Natalie was excellent -- friendly, informative, attentive, and kept everything moving at a perfect pace.
We arrived early and had a drink at the bar before our table was ready, and they were also friendly and attentive, and made my wife a delicious Mezzo Mojito she really enjoyed. They had a great selection of local craft beers on draft, including several unique pumpkin ales.
A great evening, we will be back!
The ambience is lovely, the Brussel sprouts and Chile Rellenos amazing. And Gabby, our server, was on top of everything, besides being a joy. Top notch dining experience
So glad you enjoyed your time with us, Linda! Gabby certainly is special!
Enjoy a beautiful ride to the country. Take in a live performance at the Sellersville theater next door after dinner. Food so good. Cocktail delicious. Gabby our server was wonderful .
The lobster rolls were phenomenal - tastier than ones we have had in New York City!
Always a pleasure to be served by Jess. Promised her to bring French Bull dog next time. It was a bit warm outside for him plus with the Sellersville Theatre Members gala going on outside adjacent to the restaurant, it would have been too much drama for the dog. Again highly recommend this place. They have their act together and the people from ownership, management, bartenders and servers are always very nice.
Thank you, Elliot! We are looking forward to seeing you and your French Bull dog very soon!
Excellent food and service !We had Brunch and it was wonderful.
We have eaten at the Washington House many times but our experience last night was not up to par. Our table wasn't ready at our reserved time. When we were seated there was only one place setting instead of two. Our server appeared to be new but not well trained. She never asked if we would like something to drink before ordering. A manager had to help her out a few times doing server duties when she was absent for long periods of time. We happen to overhear the table next to us complaining to the manager about how long it took to get their food. We shared a specialty salad that was very tasty but was the size of a side salad. I always enjoy their duck but it wasn't on the reduced menu. I got the Crab and Shrimp Cakes which were OK but not wonderful. My wife got the Pork Chop which was a large portion and wonderful! Everyone is experiencing labor shortages but hopefully over time the Washington House will return to its high standard of excellence. We will surely give it another try in the future.
Thank you for being a loyal and patient guest while we rebuild, Paul! Your concerns are noted and, as always, appreciated, so we can do better in the future!
One of our less favorable visits. Normally we always enjoy eating here. Last night was not one of those nights. Waitress seemed more concerned/attentive to the tables with 5 or 8 people (better tip?) than my husband and I (even though our bill was over $100 - we weren't there just for burgers).
Our dinners were outstanding in flavor and presentation, my pork loin may well have been the tastiest I have experienced
Food was amazing! Service was excellent. Could not have asked for better for an Anniversary dinner! To top it off they have a complimentary glass of champagne for the Anniversary couple. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Quiet, great atmosphere, the complimentary glass of champagne was a nice touch & the food was fantastic!
We 3 female cousins were celebrating a too-long separation cause by the pandemic. We were alone in the lovely dining room. All the food we ordered was delicious. Only the tomato bisque soup could have been hotter. The short rib grilled cheese sandwiches were hot and delicious. The wedge salad provided more than enough for one person - the delicious leftovers went home. Thank you for the beautiful ambience of the room. Wait staff was very attentive to our needs and refills of beverages. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Birthday dinner and a show. Always a great time. Love our server Ellie
Thank you! We love Ellie too!
Cozy spot for drinks at the bar and dinner later on a tornado warning night. YIKES. Menu had interesting alternatives with slight twists like the scallop ceviche with radishes, pineapple and fried wonton garnish. Service was friendly and quick. The dining room was empty when we arrived, because of the weather, so it's impossible to say how things are under normal circumstances. The food was so good that we couldn't indulge in dessert.
Thank you for braving the elements to dine with us! We are so glad you enjoyed yourself.
Always excellent service, excellent food, and excellent atmosphere.
My wife and I like to have dinner at the Washington House before a show. The last two visits have not very pleasant for the same reason. Last night was the worse. We sat down at 6:15 and received our enter at 7:30. due to “something” in the kitchen that apparently only affected us since other meals were whizzing by us. We asked to give us time for our appetizers, but those were done by 6:35. You may not think this was a big deal, but this is the second time we stressed out because we had a show to catch. Instead of a relaxing, well-paced meal to celebrate my milestone 65th birthday, we were had to gulp down our dinner, skipped our planned birthday dessert and rush to the show. We were offered a glass of wine for our patience, but that was too late to fix an evening I looked forward to for months. Our server did the best she could and the food was very good, I think, since it went down so quickly. I have higher expectations for Washington House.
Kirk, We are so sorry we did not time your dinner properly. You are absolutely right that you should have higher expectations of us. Please give us another opportunity to make it up to you-we owe you your complimentary birthday dessert!
We had drinks and dinner before a show at the theatre. All staff were wonderful as usual and the food was excellent.
Four of us dined at the Washington house prior to the Peter Noone concert. The total experience was wonderful. We were seated promptly in a charming window nook overlooking a pocket vegetable garden. Our waitress was personable and attentive. Our food was served quickly, was piping hot and presented beautifully. The guys chose the crab and shrimp cakes and were very happy with their meals. I had the lamb Bolognese, which was terrific and the portion was huge. My friend had the 5 ounce filet and declared it perfectly cooked and delicious. We love coming to Sellersville for an evening of fine dining and entertainment.
Stayed overnite for the Sellersville Theatre.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the bar area (a little noisy by the time we left at 7:15.)
Wonderful room and was surprised to find out the room came with a continental breakfast (order form with items and requested time).
Food was ok, but the service and atmosphere were fantastic. Great local location!
It's great having an awesome meal, and then attending a show at the Sellersville Theatre. Highly recommended !!!!
Service was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent with great presentation!!
Cocktails were delicious- the Moscow mule was the best I've ever had. Brent, our server, was charming, efficient, and got everything right. The menu had a good variety from which to choose so everyone was happy. The food looked and tasted delicious. Our only disappointment was the constant noise of traffic on a Friday between 6-8pm; I guess we should have expected that. Any chance you can get the road closed to traffic on the weekends, like Ambler and so many towns have done for their downtown businesses?
We'll be back for other great meals with gresat service and drinks!
Had a wonderful meal followed by a wonderful show!
We enjoyed a pleasant night with a great dinner and enjoyable breakfast. My companion is gluten-intolerant and there were a good number of gluten free dinner selections for her. She really enjoyed the evening meal. The weather cooperated so we were able to eat outdoors, very welcome in these COVID-delta times, but even the indoor dining is well separated. There were fewer gluten free breakfast selections, but the fresh fruit and Greek yogurt did the trick.
We are so glad we were able to accommodate your companion's needs! We are keeping our social distancing inside until we are sure we are out of the Delta woods! Please visit us again next time you are in Bucks County!
Calamari was rubbery, lamb Bolognese
The food was great. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meal. The service was friendly and attentive. We had a nice outside table.
The reason I took off 1 star was our dining experience was less than perfect due to very loud muscle cars driving by the restaurant almost constantly during the first hour we were there. The revved up engines made it difficult to have a conversation. Of course this is not the restaurant's fault. W
e will eat inside the next time.
Food and service was beyond exceptional. Have eaten there many times and will continue to do so.
We enoyed a very delicious dinner for 4. Each would order the same meal again, which is unusually good! 3 chesse appetizer was excellent. Street noise was a little bothersome - but NOT a complaint - a comment only. Server was new but already well trained. Staff was attentive and engaging when we invited it - but did not intrude. Well worth it. We will do this spot again.
The food as always was wonderful. Never disappointed. The service was good but very slow. We had to go in to get someone to take our order after they seated us. Noise is to be expected when sitting outside but still very nice.
Very good beer menu
This was our first visit here, and we were blown away. Our server, Jess was amazing. All the food from the brussel sprouts to the filet of beef was to die for!
Excellent as always
I ordered the Swordfish special. It was honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten, and I consider myself a discerning diner. My companion also said it was outstanding. The delicate fish, tender vegetables and couscous, and perfect sauce were a delicious delight!
I have always enjoyed exceptional meals here, and this dinner was the best yet!
Wow-so glad you enjoyed your dinner here again. Come back soon so we can top it!
The Washington House consistently serves delicious food, in a pleasant atmosphere, with friendly staff.
There was one patron who was quite loud. I understand the staff could do nothing, but another patron finally asked him to keep it down, and he relocated to another table. The staff and several other patrons were glad for this intervention, and we got a free dessert for our trouble.
had Sunday brunch outside dining. Everything was great except the Motorcycle noise which could not be helped.
