Great place. Excellent food. The restaurant itself is a very interesting building
We celebrated our anniversary. Food and service were outstanding. Highly recommended!
It has been a few years since our last visit and change was to be expected. Place looks and operates the same, but the food choices while good were different than the expected. My wife was hoping for “veal” and it was not on the menu. Actually, they were very good and it was a nice surprise. We were seated closer to the kitchen than I like, while plenty of other empty tables were evident. I said nothing it was never a problem. Service was good, dishes were prepared and perhaps it will require a return trip to keep tabs on the newer menu items.
Everything was excellent. I do have a pet peeve about servers using “we” instead of “you” when talking to customers. Emma was lovely, but when she said things like “are we finished with our salad?” I found it off putting.
We dine there every time we go to the Sellersville Theater. It has never disappointed us. Quality food, service, and ambience at a very modest price.
My friends and I had dinner there on Friday night and were so looking forward to it. however we were a tad disappointed the rolls and butter put on the table did not taste right, the butter was extremely unsavory and the rolls had the same taste as the butter, the butter actually tasted rancid. We did complain but they insisted that the butter was freshly churned by them, so we just decided not to eat it. My appetizer, watermelon Gazpacho with mint looked delicious but had so much salt in it I could not eat it. I had my friend taste it just to make sure it wasn't me, she felt it was inedible as well. I sent it back but it was part of a prix fixe dinner so I just decided at that point to just have the entree. I had the roast chicken and once again there was so much salt on the skin that it seeped through to the meat and so the meat was very salty but at that point I was starving, so just took the skin off, it was very crispy. My friends were all satisfield with their entrees, theirs were different than mine, happy to say but I was extremely disappointed. My husband and I were there on Mother's Day and everything and I mean everything was excellent. Don't know what happened this time except perhaps their sous chef has a very heavy hand with salt. I did say a couple of things to the staff but not sure it went any further. It is a shame as I have always really liked the food there.
Fantastic food! The risotto dishes are my favorite!
They must be terribly understaffed. We waited for service at every step of the way. The food was good, but we paid over $100 which was unreasonable considering the fact that we had terrible service. We were one of three tables when we arrived so it didn't excuse the possible staff shortage. The salad and appetizers were delivered with a dirty rag that actually was touching the food itself. In addition, the entree's must have sat under the heat lamp for a long time as the fresh herbs placed on top were wilted over and the plates burning hot but the food only warm. To top it off, I ordered the same wine for a second glass but certainly got a different wine (different smell, color and taste) but was charged for the same overpriced wine. Very disappointing overall. This is not what I would normally expect from the Washington House.
From beginning to end it was a great meal. Drinks were tasty and the dessert menu was creative. One of our favorite places for terrific food.
Absolutely awesome - thank you so much!!!
Just very nice all around. Fried feta was outstanding
An outstanding experience us.
Fantastic food with exceptional service.
Great night with excellent service from your new server Genevieve. She was delightful and fun. Only 1 request. We calmed there often for a meal before a show. It would be great to have other choices for single malt scotch such as Macallan 12 and Balvenie Double Wood 12. Thanks.
If you are looking for a good place to eat in this small town you can't go wrong with this restaurant. It's in a newly remodeled hotel originally built in 1700s. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. The room we were seated in was relatively small but comfortable. When we first arrived at 5:30 we had the room all to ourselves but by the time we left it was full.
My wife had the 5 oz beef filet which was excellent. I had the fried calamari and scallops which also were really good. The vanilla ice cream on the blueberry crisp desert was fantastic!
Everything was set up as if it were a special event. Tremendous service and feel-you're a valued patron all around. Easy reservations.
Great service, friendly people, clean and pleasant interior. Fantastic food and generous drinks.
Food was exceptional!!!! Will definitely be back!!! ❤️
It was our anniversary, and we made reservations the day before. We were very pleased because the restaurant is spotless, the bathrooms were spotless too, and the hostess greeted us with friendliness and was wearing her mask and we were wearing our masks as well.
We were also pleased that the restaurant seemed to be at about 50% capacity, some of the tables had beautiful floral bouquets on them with no chairs as spacers between the dining tables. We felt very safe.
Our waiter named Dylan was excellent. The food was delicious and we had a wonderful meal. The brunch featured excellent choices. Thank you so very much.
I love this place! It is historic and has so many details in the interior that make it the perfect atmosphere for a cozy dinner. Excellent short ribs. Will definitely go again.
Wow, the three course meal was outstanding! The appetizer was a seafood wonton with an amazing sauce and the lobster rolls were perfect! Dessert was bread pudding and blueberry cobbler, both amazing. Our server was great and the drinks were also very good.
Dinner before a show. The food was amazing!! Service was great. Sat at the bar with Laura until our show started. She was a hoot!! Love this place and will be back for sure.
Had dinner with friends before a show next door. Our server was new and did greet us on arrival however as we had to wait -0 mins for our friends to arrive we asked to wait to order. Service went down hill after that. It took ages to get drinks, food order taken, food to actually come etc which made the whole experience not great. We had. 5.45 booking. Friends arrived by 5.55. No food was served to us til after 7......
The food itself was very good. Scallops were excellent as was the filet and the lamb ragout with pasta.
Just such a shame about the service.....
We are so sorry your service was not up to our usual standards on Friday night! Please give us the opportunity to do better on your next visit-we promise we will not disappoint you!
The waitress was delightful. The food was delicious!
I can’t speak for dinners here, but I would never go back for a lunch. Sandwiches may be ok but for eating off a menu it was a disaster. The chicken pate was so salty I could not eat it. The two small scallops on my entree were cooked properly and served at the right temperature (hot) over a bed of lukewarm risotto. I returned the risotto because I could not help but think that it was left-over from last nights dinner menu. For dessert I ordered the duo of raspberry and blood orange sorbet. The raspberry was fine and I ate it and the strawberry, but the blood orange sorbet tasted more like grapefruit…very better. I could not eat it and either could my friend.
My friends meal was not exceptional. Her entre was very hot so I know they know how to serve hot food, but it was on the verge of too spicy and the fried potatoes were so over cooked they were light brown. I felt embarrassed for the waitress who had to serve us this food. Fortunately I did not have to pay for the pate and risotto I returned to the kitchen.
This used to be one of my husband and my favorite restaurants, and that is why I selected it. The last time we here was over five years ago. A lot can obviously change in a restaurant in 5 plus years.
Great time and meal located adjacent to a concert venue.
Excellent food and service-Love The Washington House
We ate out on the patio, which was very nice. Service was excellent and everyone was very accomodating.
The food was so good. We always celebrate our anniversary here.
I have been going to the Washington House for several years and I have always loved the experience. Whether it's an entree, sandwich, salad, or dessert, the food is always very good and they have an excellent drink selection. The customer service is top notch and the staff always makes you feel welcome. I love the Washington House and always look forward to going back when I am in Sellersville!
Had lovely outside seating. Strawberry feta salad was amazing, great burger. Staff is super friendly.
Very friendly staff and a good beer selection and menu
Took my wife for anniversary dinner, everything was Great! we'll be back SOON!
First time out to lunch in 14 months. Went at an off time and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Was a good way to ease back into eating out.
Great food, Great service!
Very high quality of food with sophisticated, creative, choices with excellent service.
We have been to the Washington House on many occasions--before COVID and during COVID. Been seated outdoors, indoors, at the bar. Every single time our experience has been wonderful. The servers are professional but not stuffy. They answer questions and keep things moving. Most are able to tell when you want to spend more time with your meal and when you may be seeing a show at the Sellersville Theatre so you need to be served quickly. The menu is creative and dishes are well presented; things change with the seasons. We've also done takeout and been at their wine tasting and beer tasting dinners. All have been worth the cost.
Thank you for such a wonderful review, Leka! We are thrilled to have a few stools at the bar again, and the weather has been good to us for serving outside. We enjoy seeing you wherever you are seated!
Good for special occasions. Always something out of the ordinary on the menu.
I’ve been there multiple times. My friends and I like it very much and are definitely going back in the future. We like to eat there before a show which is also an excellent venue,
We look forward to seeing you again, Craig!

Kind and very efficient without feeling rushed!!!
We continue to be impressed by and enjoy dining at The Washington House. The building is a beautiful and historic space and the layout keeps the feeling intimate. The menu varies with seasonal items and there are always multiple choices I would like to try when I visit. The menu is complimented by a well stocked bar and rotating craft beer list. Service is friendly and attentive. One of our family and friend favorites.
