Great Service and delicious food! Beautiful place too!
Seated immediately, friendly prompt service, fantastic food.
My wife and I ate here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We've been here several times before for dinner before a show. We were very pleased by the food and the service before and this time was no exception. Our server Laura was excellent. She is very friendly, personable, and spot on. My wife had the salad with swordfish entrée and I started with a Cesar salad, which was very plentiful for a starter salad. I then had the crab and shrimp cake w/mashed and hericot verts. Both of our meals were excellent. We highly recommend dining here especially if you're here for a show at the Sellersville Theatre.
Always an excellent dining experience at the Washington House!
Long wait for the appetizer and then the entree came as well!
The "crispy" peking duck was just a soggy piece of meat with no flavor at all save for the relish on top.
Despite these disappointments we remain loyal customers of the restaurant because of the beer tastings.
My husband was playing at the theater next door.
Enjoyable evening for four. Meal pacing was not good, quite a bit of time between appetizer and entree presentation. Server was personable and professional, did a nice job overall. No steak knives present despite a filet mignon entree and a duck entree. I had to go inside to request a knife. Calamari app had very little calamari but instead was made up of filler—-breaded jalapenos and red peppers. A real disappointment. Overall a very nice family dinner with. Just a few hiccups. Always a pleasure. here for lunch or dinner. While we still like the Washington House, it truly is not what it used to be as cliche as that sounds. No dress code anymore, walkers stopping into the bar in sweaty shorts and tanks. Fifteen years ago we loves it here. Now the standards have dropped. Still, good food and good service, just don’t expect the elegant restaurant that once graces this corner
I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. I had the swordfish entree and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and their bleu cheese dressing is to die for! The service was very friendly and attentive but it did take incredibly long to get our food. I hear this is a thing there...so I allotted enough time. Overall however a better than good experience.
The service was tremendous, the food so-so. I was disappointed with the duck-though the flavor was fine, it was so tough I was unable to eat some of it (the table knife could not cut it). My app =too much bread, not enough salmon. My partner enjoyed his swordfish (I thought it overcooked) his soup was superb.
My wife and I had an anniversary dinner there. I had the petite filet and she had a veggie wrap. My wife couldn't stop raving about the wrap. My steak, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus were great. My wife had a flight of white wines, while I had two of the double IPAs. Our meal was great, the service pleasant and prompt, and the atmosphere perfect for a get away weekend. We will be doing this again.
The Washington House always makes special days tremendously and wonderfully beyond special. A menu for everyone’s palate, impeccable waitstaff, and a beautiful ambiance! Thank you for a great Father’s Day!
I always make a reservation for dinner at the Washington House when I am attending a concert that night at the Sellersville Theatre next door. I have a long drive to get to Sellersville so I want to make the most of my trip there. The food is delicious and the Victorian building and decor are lovely. The service is excellent. It is worth the trip.
Sadly, our experience with the food was not enjoyable. The waitress was sweet. We ordered crab soup and potato soup and they were excellent. My husband ordered a salmon platter that came out rare. My Father-in-law's carrots were not cooked. I had a crab and shrimp patty on the sandwich bun and was unhappy with two pieces of tomatoes which were small and not ripe! We left feeling like we could have paid half the amount at another restaurant and would have had more and better food. Staff was aware of concerns and did not make amends, except to put the salmon back on the grill.
Awesome as always! The only thing I noticed was they either changed the recipe for the rolls that are brought out while you’re waiting for your food, or they just blew it. The rolls are not as big and are not as delicious as they had been in previous visits through the years. I miss the old recipe!! They used to be screaming hot, browned perfectly and had a very yeasty slight sourdough taste. Otherwise everything was great. Incredible service, the dishes we ordered were terrific.
One of the most memorable dining experiences ever - a prelude to the mesmerizing music of Dom Flemons that evening next-door.
We enjoyed the spring pea soup with lump crab meat, which was divine, then a perfectly constructed side salad and sublime burger and shrimp/crab cakes as well as a variety of specialty IPAs. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was magical. We can't wait to return!
Bartender and Sever ELLEN is The Best!
We had reservations before a show at the theater, and it was a very nice dinner. Server was very nice, very attentive, and the food and atmosphere both good. Will definitely make reservations again when we see another show!
We've never had a bad meal at The Washington House.
The food is varied and delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the staff is always wonderful, even when the house is packed.
Always worth the 2 hour trip from home!
Very neat place to visit but the past the ambience it went downhill a bit. The food was average. it was presented well but the portions were a bit skimpy and the vegetables that were barely warm. Our waitress was very nice and offered us a complimentary dessert to make up for that. This was our first visit we will most likely return for a sandwich a quick bite or a drink when we are in town to see a show but most likely not for dinner. I wouldn't take anyone there as my guest for dinner.
Stayed a night in the hotel and had time to catch a dinner. I had a pistachio encrusted sword fish that was terrific. Everything I had was very good. Even the cocktail. Grabbed a cocktail at the warm and friendly bar later in the evening.
Credit to the staff which was excellent in every respect. From the bartender to the wait staff, both dinner and AM continental breakfast. All were above average. Hotel staff included.
I'll be back.
First time I visited. From the moment I stepped in side everyone was very attentive to all and any needs. Food was fantastic. Would definitely go again.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Inventive menu, reasonably priced. Interesting mixed drinks and a decent beer/wine list. Worth a visit!
We went for Mother’s Day Brunch. We were able to chose from 4 appetizers and probably about 10 entrees. Each of us received a complimentary glass of champagne. Dessert was 4 assorted mini’s with 3 other goodies that I can’t recall....but there was chocolate involved. 😃
Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was excellent.
Loved every bite, loved our server, and we were delightfully surprised to find such a creative and well executed menu by happenstance. We live in Philly and we’re passing through. Recommend and will return if given the opportunity!
The staff was so very professional and attentive. Quality cuisine and service. HIGHLY Recommended.
Came here for birthday celebration and it did not disappoint....great food and attentive staff...went to theater after dinner...a good time all round
We have dined there many times and the food and service have always been excellent. We have dined on holidays, with friends before the show at Sellersville Theater which is next door. I have also been to luncheons with groups I participate in. Some of their choices are the same each time I/we go, but there are many different ones each time also. Desserts are yummy!
The only critical review I could give is that you were out of salmon that evening. Other than that, first time, wonderful experience. Waitress was outstanding & thorough!
Best time eating out I've had in a long time. Enjoyed a show next door also.
We dined at The Washington House before a show at Sellersville Theatre. The fare was excellent and so was the service. Anyone looking for a great dining experience would not be disappointed. The dining room was elegant so if you are in the mood to "dress up" that would work, however, the atmosphere is such that you would also feel comfortable going casual!
As usual the food was great and service was very good too. one thing that brings us back is they hav a very good selection of beers and wunes by the glass. I highly recommend going there for any occation.
Excellent dinner! Sophisticated but not pretentious.
The pasta was good. The duck was good. The crab chips were good. The chicken was raw. Sent it back. Upon return it was still raw. Very disappointing. The manager apologized. Ordered something else off the menu to go.
Both were gratis.
Disappointing evening. But attempted to make it right.
Good: Atmosphere and Greeter/Hostess
Bad: relatively expensive for the quality of food.
Waitress was below average. Did not stop by the table to ask if we wanted a second round of drinks. Seemed content just to move us along.
My wife and ordered two different beers and they were out of both of them.
Loved the food, the service was great and it is easily accessible for people with mobility issues.
We had tickets to see a show at the theater and decided to go to dinner beforehand. Everything was perfect. I was with friends I haven't seen in a long time and they let us linger before and after dinner just talking. I know they were busy but they did not try to rush us one bit. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the fresh pea soup with crab meat. It is my favorite. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The price of food and drinks is very reasonable.
Interesting atmosphere with good food and good service. So convenient to the Sellersville theatre. Would definitely go again.
The atmosphere was wonderful, as was the food. Service was excellent, and all of our courses were delivered hot. I would definitely recommend the Washington House for a regular date night or special occasion.
This a great restaurant for a pre theater dinner when attending a show at the Sellersville Theater. Food was well prepared and reasonably priced. The only drawback was the length of time waiting for our entrees. We were able to arrive in our seats prior to showtime however.
Went, as always, for dinner before a Sellersville Theatre show. Nice beer selection. Food is always good.
