The Washington House - Pennsylvania Ratings and Reviews
The food was just ok. With how much money you spend you expect amazing. Was not that impressed and the amount of time it took was extremely long. Tables being sat after us we’re getting their food before us. The wait staff was obviously in the weeds and constantly apologizing to customers. They also were out of things. A draft beer was out then another table had issues getting a soda! Just was not my cup of tea that’s all.
We went on New Year’s Eve and we were pleasantly surprised that the food was delicious. Even though some elements were fixed, each course was amazing. Our server was very friendly. My only suggestion would be that groups were given more time but as a couple we were rushed through each course. We would have liked to enjoy the ambiance a little longer.
We went for Christmas Eve brunch. We’ve gone for brunch before it’s always great. They offer a Prix Fix menu. You get three courses with lots of delicious choices. The food is always wonderful and plentiful. We usually share a dessert and bring one home (desserts included!). We highly recommend the Washington House! I had chicken with gnocchi! It was amazing!
Christmas Eve brunch. Food was delicious! Service was awful. Waitress was non-existent at our table. No drink refills through entire meal as we sat with empty glasses. Never brought requested coffee at end of meal, and it took four times to get the check corrected, after overcharging by nearly $45. It was blamed on a computer glitch, but took over 20 minutes to get fourth and final corrected check. Unfortunately, the tip was a reflection of the poor service. The whole Christmas Eve brunch experience was pretty disappointing. As initially stated, the food was excellent, as always.
We held a family birthday dinner at the Washington House and we're all very pleased with the wine and beer selections and the menu options. The service was very good and the staff was friendly. I would definitely dine here again and would recommend The Washington House to others.
The continental breakfast which goes along with an overnignt stay left a lot to be desired. For the price of the stay at the hotel, there should be more options available. Cereal as an option, at least. Also, more staff to tend breakfast. The yogurt was very good, but the fresh fruit was left empty.
The room and cleanliness of the hotel was excellent. Nice diverse wine list at dinner.
The biggest frustration was the inability to purchase gift cards in the morning. I was told at the bar the night before I could purchase gc's anytime. When I wanted them at 9am the next morning, the staff didn't know how to sell them. They said I would have to wait until 10am. Not an option when you have to get back on the road. They called a manager who couldn't walk them through the process. Very frustrating! A few hundred dollars went to another restaurant.
We (four adults) went to the Washington House for dinner before a show we were seeing at the Selllersville Theater. The ambience and service were very good. However, the food was fair at best. After a considerable wait, our dinners arrived. Of the four entrees, three were barely warm. You could tell they had been sitting somewhere. We told our concerns to our waitress who immediately returned the entrees to the kitchen. When the entrees were returned they were hotter but not piping hot like a freshly prepared dinner should be. I can honestly say that we won’t be returning to the Washington House again.
The food and atmosphere were excellent. The waitress very sweet they not sure if there was not enough staff or the waitress was a little overwhelmed. The dining room was full. The group that I was with all enjoyed the experience and would definitely
We have eaten here numerous times and this was the first bad experience. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday night before what appeared to be a sold out show at the Sellersville Theater next door. Service was slow. Food took a long time to arrive and was not hot. Neither of our entrees were up to standard. Ordered a second beer that never arrived. We did see managers on the floor which was good to help the situation. We noticed that the other diners in the area we we're seated in had a similar experience to us. Maybe a bad night for the staff and restaurant. We will eat here again but will probably try someplace different before the next show we go to see.
We've been to the Washington House many times but our visit on Dec. 1st was very poor.
It appeared the restaurant was understaffed for such a busy night. Our food took a long time to come out and we were going next door for a show. We then had to gobble down our dinner. Both my son's and my beef were overdone. My son was suppose to have french fries but they never came out. I was suppose to have asparagus but instead received green beans. This is not the type of service we've had in the past. Very disappointing.
The bar and wait staff are always very nice. Bummer it is was my third visit where a beef item was completely overcooked. So $11 for a dry burger with potato chips. I also wish they would take away just a few bar stools because bar seating is super tight. That being said, it is a fine Sellersville Theater pre-show dinner option and if you speak up they will try to solve any meal issues.
Service was very good. I had the salmon poboy, and I think they changed the roll they were using, and I much prefer this one. It is softer and easier to handle. The blackened salmon was very good. also had the pumpkin cheesecake. it was lighter than I expected. Nice dessert.
We had dinner at the Washington House and went to the Almost Queen Show at 9:00.
The food was very good. I had the Cajun scallops and shrimp, very tasty. My wife had a burger that was slightly over cooked by still very tasty. The drink in this place are outstanding, the atmosphere terrific and the service outstanding. We try to get there at least once a month and enjoy it ever time. Dinner and a show we will do again.
