The Washington House - Pennsylvania
Excellent service and good food. It is like stepping back into Victorian times in a beautiful building from that era. Very enjoyable.
We've been to the Washington House on many occasions. This was a special Valentine's menu. The food was excellent!
Valentine’s Day. Pre fix menu was outstanding. Wonderful and plentiful selections. Service by Kayla was attentive and personable. We love the place and are repeat customers. Older building with separate dining areas helps to keep the noise level down.
Food is great, portions are too small
Amazing Dinner with my beautiful Wife. Show at ST94.....off the charts
Nice presentation, food was good. Server attentive and offered good wine pairing suggestions.
We had a lovely birthday dinner before a show. The food was excellent.
Quaint little restaurant and theater in the middle of Sellersville PA.
Service was Excellent. Brenda was our server and was fantastic. Food was very good. My wife loved her baked acorn squash with gnocchi. I had the duck breast and it was good but left me wanting something more. Ambiance was very nice. Overall, a really nice evening.
Our server Kayla was so friendly and sweet. She made our girls night out a great experience.
Non-descript meal. Salad was pedestrian. Filet mignon was outstanding. Calamari continues to need improvement. Undercooked, relatively small portion for the 11.95 price tag and the presentation was wanting. Lamb bolognese was lukewarm and clearly had been sitting a while. Dish itself was fine but not hot. Not worth sending back to the kitchen. Outstanding service though we never heard the specials like other tables did. Substantial bar noise. Been coming here for a long time, not what it once was.
The food was very good and the service was excellent!
Arrived 2 hours prior to show at Sellersville Theater so we (4) could relax and enjoy our dinner. Not the case. The table next to us of 2 sat 30 min after us were served and left prior to our table receiving our meal.
we had to rush to get out the door to make the start of the show. Not what I had planned. Most of the meals were excellent, some were way overpriced for the amount of food received . The scallops and duck dish's were excellent but an appetizer portion size. (My dad even asked if I ordered an appetizer! I Hadn't) Next time I go to a show there I will plan to eat somewhere else.
Host was very friendly, waitress not so much. She finally came to the table and asked about beverages and once they were given I asked to place order right away and she said, "I'll be back for that after the drinks" and immediately walks to the table beside us and begins to take their food order. After some time the host came by to get our drink order from us then serve it to us then the waitress arrived for the food order. Not a deal breaker to never return just annoying; the food was good and the restaurant was nice.
Fantastic as usual. Good, tasty food. Waitress very pleasant. Building is broken up into several rooms which keeps noise down. Don't forget there's a marvelous live music venue next door. They also host live bluegrass music in the bar twice a month.
I have been to The Washington House many times for dinner, but this was my first brunch visit. The food and service were excellent. We had the option of ordering our entrees as a prix fixe for a few dollars more and included breads, salad or soup, coffee, and dessert. I would recommend doing this or you may feel a bit unsatiated. I did think the prices were a little bit high, but we certainly enjoyed the meal.
The food was incredible! I had pancakes with stewed blueberries and blackberries and cream cheese. My husband had crab cakes. The bread basket was fantastic, with blueberry mini muffins, chocolate chip scones, and croissants. We chose the Prix Fixe menu for Sunday brunch and he got a salad and I had a fruit salad as our starters. Both were fabulous. He chose the chocolate cake for dessert and I chose the butternut squash creme brulee with hazelnuts. Amazing desserts! If you are in the area, this is a MUST have for any meal!
I would have given the Washington House a 5 star review but I was disappointed that they were sold out of the 2 menu items that I was going to order. While I understand that the special pork loin would have been sold out, I didn’t understand how something that is on their main menu (braised beef short rib) was sold out by 8:30pm on a Saturday night. That was very disappointing. Our waiter and the service he provided was exceptional.
I always enjoy having lunch or dinner at the Washington House. The food is always so good and the staff are very friendly. I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant. The food comes out quickly and the desserts are so good.
Great black bass dish with fresh greens and olive tapenade. Waitress was attentive and friendly, and seating was perfect. This a a regular spot where I bring clients and never disappointed.
The Washington House encompasses a modern dining experience with the rustic charm of the historical building. I found the history pamphlet to be very interesting as it explained the stages of the W.H. and the theater next door (especially since I used to see movies there.) Can get a little noisy, but it shows that those gathered are enjoying themselves.
Excellent beer selection
My favorite place before seeing a concert!
My favorite place before seeing a concert!
Food was spectacular, staff was so friendly and nice. The restaurant itself is very nice and also it's great its next to the Sellersville theater
We very much enjoyed dinner at the Washington House. Table setting was very attractive, wine was good, excellent menu, waiter Sam was really on the ball, and the food was presented well and was prepared very much to our liking. We were also guests in the hotel which we also liked very much. We will be back!
Went there prior to a concert on 1/20. My husband and i both got the ribeye steak which came with a spinach au gratin. The quality of the steak was poor. More fat and gristle than meat. The spinach au gratin was meant to be hot and was cold. Our waitress went to her manager and they did provide a discount of 15%, but the bill was still $95 without tip. Meal was not worth the money. We won't be going back.
It was a special birthday so this definitely a good choice.
Would come again!
Great service and food. Been before and will be back.
Fabulous dinner with our family. Washington House never lets us down
This was our first visit and won't be our last. We wanted something special for our 49th anniversary so we chose the package deal that includes a credit towards the meal. We went to a show at the theater next door, then stayed at the beautiful hotel. We are big fans of historical ambience and this has so much past history. We had a delicious meal in the gorgeous dining room. It's like stepping back in time but with all the modern amenities. The service is fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and we will definitely do this again!
This hotel/restaurant offers a splendid variety of food at moderate pricing. The service has always been very good to excellent. If you like the ambiance of being back in a more refined era in a restaurant that sports very good food, great service and a welcoming feel, this place will serve you well.
My husband and I got married at the Washington House and we celebrated our first anniversary there. We couldn't be happier. Every bartender and server is extremely respectful, helpful and kind. The food was delicious, warm and brought to us promptly.
We love it here!
great place with great food and drinks. Never met an unfriendly person there, nor had a bad meal
we went to the Washington House before a show at the theater. The food was excellent as well as the service.
My husband and I have gone here frequently both pre-arranged as well as stopping by on a whim. I have never been disappointed. My husband has passed on but I have had the pleasure of meeting my sister as well as my daughter at this wonderful restaurant. The food and wine are terrific and no matter what room you are placed, the environment is warm and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and for any occasion. They really do put you, the customer, first.
Washington House is a must visit before or after a show at the Sellersville Theater. We were there after an early show on a Sunday (530 at the restaurant). we had a variety of dishes in our party of 6. of particular interest were the duck, the short ribs, and the crab/shrimp cake - all of them fabulously delicious! Also note that the WH has a great wine list - mostly by the bottle, but also some nice choices by the glass.
We ate here as part of a package deal with the hotel, and prior to attending a show at the Sellersville Theater next door. The staff made an effort to make sure we got to the show on time. (We did.) We both had the filet minion, which was excellent. And I appreciated being able to substitute a vegetable I liked for the one normally served with that meal. The chocolate raspberry mousse cake was delicious. Service, by Kayla, was great, as was the "helping" service by other members of the staff. All in all, a great experience.
The Washington House never disappoints. Great meals, great service.
Excellent in all ways. Would prefer 2 vegetarian option for entrees. Good vegetarian options for appetizers. Fantastic desserts!
