Beautiful ambiance of the entire location. The food was extravagant and surpassed our expectations! Our waiter was such a pleasure and very helpful. We truly enjoyed our experience and hope to come back again.
Everything was amazing - food, wine, service. There was a ringing sound from freezer that was unnerving - I have sensory sensitivity
This was our second time to eat here and we really enjoyed it again. My filet was cooked perfectly and was delicious as were the sides (potatoes and asparagus). The service was also excellent. The atmosphere has a nice, cozy rustic feel...but the food is fine dining. It's a bit pricey (especially now as all prices have just gone up) but worth it for a special evening out. We will definitely go back when we're in the area.
The Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection and my server Jake made a lovely recommendation for the wine pairing for the Key Lime Bread Pudding. Definitely a place to go when one is traveling in the area.
Wonderful supper, Small very stylish quiet. Great food, great service. Wonderful wine selection. Best food in Fairhope.
Good food as always and great service. Would highly recommend.
Outstanding food, service and ambiance.
Wonderful food! Great service!!! Probably want to make a reservation!!!
Our adult children thoroughly enjoyed their evening together here with their spouses. Superb!
This was my first time at the Wash House on recommendation from a friend. My impression is that it is an "old standard" in the Fairhope community. The menu and overall ambiance are a bit dated, but this is great for the older crowd who don't like too much variety or adventure in their dining experience. Overall it was a good meal and service was great. However, I doubt we will be back unless my Mom visits and we need to entertain an 80 year old.
The ambiance was pleasant. Our meal was fairly good, however we did not feel that it was exceptional or outstanding. The appetizers were excellent, but the entrees were less special. Everything was beautifully presented, but the taste did not match the expectation that was set by the presentation. The key lime bread pudding was not bread pudding at all - but it was very good! The bacon wrapped scallops were excellent. The catch of the day was a little salty and the vegetables were boring/nothing special. Not sure we would go back, although the atmosphere was delightful.
In the past couple of years, the food here has been outstanding... and always left a lasting impression. This year, it was fair. The steak was great but the soft shell crab was heavily, heavily breaded and crunchy. I felt like it could have been something fried at the fair. The pecan pie was cold and also not as enjoyable as past years. Really disappointed we made the trip from OB for a date night.
There were 3 in our party and we ordered shrimp and grits, soft shell crab and tuna. All 3 items arrived quickly and were delicious! We had the key lime bread pudding for dessert which was fabulous!
It was amazing . The service was outstanding they treated me and my family great
Our party enjoyed a delicious meal from start to finish. Drinks, salads, entrees and desserts were perfectly prepared. Service was attentive but unobtrusive.
We had dinner next to a very big party and it was just very noisy constant servers walking behind us to get to the party and bumping our chairs. Food was great!
Enjoyed our meal - started with shrimp/fried green tomatoes appetizer, then had wedge salad with wonderful green goddess dressing, followed by shrimp and grits (delicious with nice fried okra twist) and market fish. Ended with chocolate pecan pie. Would definitely go back
Excellent food and service! Very enjoyable experience! Had reservations and were seated quickly with no wait.
The Wash House is always a great place for an excellent meal. The food is consistantly high quality and perfect.
Very consistent restaurant. Always less than average groceries at a premium price.
Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in. The soft shell crab was so fresh and tasted like it just was off the boat. The redfish was the best my friend had ever tasted, and he is a seafood connoisseur. We were so full we couldn’t have dessert, but everything sounded wonderful. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone in the Fairhope area.
Wonderful restaurant. Great food and experience. I would highly recommend!!!
Good food and service but we were rushed.
Nice but overpriced. Food was not to the standard of their pricing. Great atmosphere.
One if the best meals we’ve had and by far the best ever at the wash house. Outstanding in every manner
Wonderful from beginning to end
The food and service at The Wash House was outstanding!! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary—36 years and we could not have chosen a better place!!
Always love going to the Wash House. Perfect date night spot. Quiet. Service and food are always excellent. Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere and service. The food was exceptional and plentiful. No problems recommending.
The whole point of me typing in that I wanted a bottle of champagne was so they would have it sitting on the table when we got there. They didn’t even know I had entered that request.
Super. Always is. Great setting and menu, wine list, service.
Delicious food. Great low key atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
Fish was good, but nothing exceptional... Service was good..
Food was great, service very attentive, a very good experience
Guess my expectations were too high. Entrées average.
Service better than Entrées.
Bread pudding excellent.
We love the Wash House and have dinner there each time we are in Fairhope. Outstanding professional service with a smile and delicious food. A great wine list & Cocktail List.
Loved the wedge with Green Godess & Blue Cheese & Bacon! Go!
Great food and service. Very interesting ambiance that you might not expect, but we enjoyed the experience. We decided that will will not bring the kids the next time we go.
Bread offered, nothing to write home about. Gumbo very good, Shrimp and grits questionable, shrimp fresh and good, gouda grits dry and tasteless, fried okra tastefully done, minimal New Orleans style bbq sauce especially for dried grits . Seared Tuna acceptable. Ordered wedge salad brought a house salad. Caught managers attention and he remedied the situation. Really like to eat the meal together waiting on the wedge salad
cooled the gumbo. Reservation process good with no wait upon arrival. Overall, been there done that no need for a second trip, too many options for eating in the area. Gets very good local review. But it is worth a try. Might have been an off night for the kitchen. Wait server did take our picture for us. but it is not worth sharing.
The food and the service was excellent at my first visit to The Wash House. Both the bar the table were very nice and comfortable. The lighting within the restaurant and the unique layout of this historical venue was very nice. Highly recommended.
