The Warming Hut is nestled in Breckenridge, Colorado, and promises recipes with Colorado-sourced ingredients. The restaurant also prides itself on offering many gluten-free and vegetarian options. The Warming Hut serves both lunch and supper, as well as providing a wine menu, cocktails and an assortment of beers.
For supper, you can try the cowboy brisket plate with garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and a sweet potato bun. The little ones in your party can choose from a sizable menu of items, including cheeseburger sliders and corn dogs. Warming Hut also serves dessert, with grizzly bear pie a la mode being a big standout.
We went in the summer time, so the crowd may be different during the peak winter season. But was exactly what we were looking for, a restaurant we could talk to each other and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Great menu choices and delicious comfort food. It was exactly what it was called, on a chilly summer night it was the perfect "warming hut"!
Everything was perfect for a pre-Father's Day treat for our husbands. We weren't in the mood for a fussy wine, so asked instead for a simple red recommendation. We got a great bottle of Malbec for only $10.50. Everyone's entrees were spot-on, from shrimp and grits to grilled mahi-mahi. Dessert was an unbelievably good gluten-free chocolate cake.
It was a busy night, and I think they were short on help, so I have only been there once, and can not compare it to other occasions. I'll just leave it at that.
Loved the ambiance - felt like we were home - beautiful decor - cozy - friendly - so happy to be here off season - the owner was very nice - our server was excellent - we loved the sausages and the leek bread pudding - the trout was cooked to perfection - the prime rib was cooked to order - everyone loved it - if we lived in Breck this restaurant would be a favorite - I could go back there every night - also a cozy bar - with vintage Life magazines - nice touch -my kids enjoyed looking at the prices from way back when! Also! - waiter was very helpful with my daughter who has celiac - pointed out all the wonderful GF dishes on the menu - truly a great place to spend a relaxing dinner.
At this time of year, the restaurants in the area offer 2 for 1s, which gave us the opportunity of trying someplace new. That being said, it was our 1st time there. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy, the food is home cooked good, and the staff was super nice and appreciative for our business. We will definitely be back.
Delicious food & wine list, & excellent service. Always a great experience. The Warming Hut never disappoints!
We had a lovely time at the Warming Hut. Try the trout! We'll be back every time we're in Breckenridge.
Nice little place. Really good food and service was quick and friendly. Also, they were super nice in regard to our three year old daughter and modified a menu item for her. We will return again for sure...
Menu looked good online and it was my choice: booked on opentable. Very handy! given choice of seating so we sat in the window. Our 7 year old 'snarfed' down the 2 cheese mac and cheese (chef held off the goats cheese by request!) and we both enjoyed our cocktails and entrees. Split the gluten free dessert. Waitress couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Will definitely go again when we are back in summer. Footnote: disappointed the salmon entree pictured on the website was no longer on the menu.
Overall the food was very good. The sliders were very dry and the fish in the fish tacos was over-breaded. Portion size was great. Lasagna and Mac and Cheese got rave reviews from the kids. Excellent bread; really enjoyed the selection of Olive Fusion. I ordered the Tomato Florentine soup, but only tasted it because it was cream-based. The menu should have indicated that, but I guess I could have asked. I have never had Tomato Florentine with a cream base.
Lovely atmosphere and decor. The iron stoves are a very nice touch. Pumpkin cheesecake was to die for!
Great food choices and wine list. Won't disappoint. Definitely will visit again when in Breckenridge.
Haven't been in a couple years, so this our 3rd visit over some time, thrilled like the last. Great, attentive service didn't surprise in Breck or at The Warming Hut and the seasonal Colorado menu was delicious and a treat. Nice to see their commitment to preparing local and you could taste it. I loved the ruby red trout with leak bread pudding and fresh seasoned broccoli, discovered a wonderful new Zinfindel, Hullabaloo, and the kids were excited for banafi pie. We'll see you back next time!
Old home built in the 1800's beautifully restored and converted into a restaurant. Warm atmosphere and great food after a day of skiing in Breckenridge. Recommend the Ruby Red Trout.
We thought the food was very nice and also the wine.mbut it was very expensive, so I would recommannd this restaurant only for special occasions! The music was terrible. Modern jazz and much to loud.
Wonderful dinner in charming atmosphere after a long day of skiing.
This was our first night in Breckenridge, and we were very happy with our restaurant choice. The slider trio was awesome as was the warm lamb salad. Service was terrific as well. We loved the setting; very cozy. We will be back!
Each course at this resturarant reflected the decor and atmosphere. Great place!
The Warming Hut seems like it would be a great spot for dinner, but it is lacking. Service was poor and the food was mostly bland and poorly put together. The cocktails were actually quite tasty, but otherwise I would skip this restaurant and seek out alternate dining locations in Breckenridge.
the Warming Hut rarely disappoints. 95% of the time, everyting is great, food, service. The rare times that it is not great, it is just OK, but the great service always takes care of you and pleasantly fixes any issues. The prime rib is excellent and will not disappoint. The salads and soups are satisfying and creative.
Went to The Hut based on a recommendation from others and left feeling so-so. The food was nothing exceptional, service a bit slow and we were seated in a table that did not provide adequate room for our party of 6. Maybe it was an off night, but doubt we will return.
The ambiance is comfortable, with several little nooks for seating that feels private. From the moment we arrived, we experienced the staff as friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food menu is unique, featuring comfort foods. We each had a salad and then shared the stuffed pork chops, which was more food than we could eat. Very tasty, too! The wine list has been carefully built, and includes an extraordinary selection of wines by the glass, giving us the opportunity to try something new. We have eaten here a few times, and the Warming Hut never disappoints!
From stuffed Pork Chops, to savory Meat Loaf, and a decadent Mac & Cheese....the Warming Hut has a wide variety of great comfort food with prices for entrees ranging from $14 - $28 - an affordable Breckenridge alternative.
Attentive(but not in your face) wait staff, good wine selection, not noisy and easy to have a conversation, and the Pumpkin Cheesecake is a MUST HAVE....really good!
Great place for coversation and ffine food
While they had several excellent sounding entrees we could not resist getting the meat loaf. It is always excellent. I had a cup of salmon chowder, which was quite tasty. We had requested and were seated at one of the table in a front bay window so we could watch passersby outside on the sidewalk. We couldn't finish our meal so got a to-go box. That didn't mean I didn't have room to try the Hot Apple Pie drink, which is hot apple cider with Tuaca topped with whipped cream. Yummy. Will we go back ? Yes indeed.
We visited in Feb 2014. My wife really liked the mac n cheese. I had the fish special and it was average. My father had the bison chili and it was the gamiest chili I have ever tried. I wouldn't recommend the chili unless you really like wild game. The service was nice and hospitable.
Placed in basement table, no other quest in in there. Maybe reservation came late but we where still dissapointed. Food was moderate ans so was service.
This is my second time at the Warming Hut. All I can say is not every restaurant in a resort town meets the standards of a restaurant in your own home city ( and Philadelphia has some fine restaurants), but this one does. We split a wedge salad, which was more that sufficient. Then dove into ruby red trout and moules fritas. Everything tasted amazing!
Good food. Nice to have a another good restaurant in Breckenridge. Boar sausage appetizer was excellent with nice presentation. The Shrimp & Grits were delicious.. The Malbec wine was especially smooth and reasonably priced. Will return next time in Breckenridge.
I enjoyed dining at the Warming Hut. Delicious food, tasty and perfectly prepared. Waiter was kind, soft spoken and friendly.
Terrible food and way overpriced! would not come back.
