   Usually really really good, tonight sushi chefs were slow and rolls were soggy and falling apart. Seemed rushed and the flavor wasn’t there. Tasted like moderately cold fish with little sauce and wet, watery rice. Took forever and didn’t hit the spot like usual.

   Great server. Great food. (One regular diner was rude constantly to staff and other patrons and we could over hear him but otherwise) Amazing experience. Chefs menu totally worth it. They had a great saki recommendation for a bottle that was great both hot and cold. Our server was attentive and amazing. Loved the recommendations. She really wanted to know what we liked so she could better inform other patrons and gave diligent and special attention. Adorable origami in my whiskey, the orchids are delicious. - salted Carmel ice cream was a total win. Every selection and item just held up on its own and we will cherish this meal.

   They have new menu items. The service personnel was not very knowledgeable about drinks and they were very slow. Tables were so small for 4 too and you order 4 dishes and you have no room on the table. Needs little help on floor

   Food tastes very bad. Tried most the their favorites and they all tasted awful. Ambience is zero. Very small restaurant with no decor and very slow service. What a waist of time and money.

   Good: (1) The new expanded outside patio is a very nice setting. (2) The specialty rolls are creative and flavorful. Not so good: (1) the kitchen/servers made two mistakes on our order; one they fixed (wrong roll delivered), the other they did not (wrong type of water was delivered). (2) Their prices have gone up significantly in the last six months; specialty rolls are now all close to $30 each.

    Service was fine. My main problem was the cleanliness of the restaurant. Our drinking glasses and the table were dirty. Shrimp did not taste fresh or the unagi. Overall, not impressed and will not be returning.

    I have been waiting to eat here for a long time and finally made reservations for a first date with high expectations. The host was on the phone a bit too long upon our on-time arrival for our 6:30 reservation. He was polite, but when you have a guest in front of you who has a reservation, I believe the etiquette should be to ask them to hold while you take care of the people waiting to be seated. The server was also polite, but when we asked for the spicy roll, she placed an order for the wrong roll. The host offered to bring spicy ponzu sauce to make up for this, but I believe the correct roll should've just been made for us. We also learned that the current sushi chef is not the owner who made the place famous. Apparently he is busy opening other restaurants. The sushi roll selection on the menu was limited and unoriginal. The quality of the sushi was good, but the overall presentation was uninspiring. For these prices, you are clearly paying for ambiance and reputation these days, and not the award winning cuisine which the original chef/owner made this place famous for. Overall, we had a good experience, but sadly we will not be returning given other sushi options at lower prices.

    For the quality and the service there are much better sushi restaurants in Palm Desert. The location is great, the sushi is average, the price is too high for the quality of service and food. Hopefully we just had an off night with service and quality.

    Appetizers and sushi rolls were excellent. However, the hot sake tastes watered down. Was quite disappointed. Nonetheless, still enjoyed the food in spite the watered down sale. Would have enjoyed dishes if accompanying alcohol was better.

    They have expanded the patio, and we sat out in the pretty evening, protected from weather. It was breezy out. Loved the weather and the wine choices. Had the El Paseo special roll, shishito peppers, miso soup, and appetizer tacos. All good and we would order all again. Our server was informed and good. Quant and pretty with great atmosphere and service. The inside is nice too but smaller... Do out if you can.

    We had no reservation on a Saturday night but were seated graciously by the host. Our waitress was disinterested, blasé. That said we were served drinks and wine comfortably. Sensing we should order quickly we did but still would up waiting to the point of frustration but we kept calm and enjoyed our drinks, wine and the evening. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed a great dinner. The only negative was our waitress she just could care less whenever we asked for something, even another waitress who tried to step in but couldn’t do much. There seemed to be no manager present was our conclusion. The food is worth it!

    We have always liked Venue a lot. However, the food has not been as good as it once was the last few dinners throughout the last 2 years. Now, with inflation as it is, the value just isn’t there. Last night, we had little to eat, 1 drink, and for four people, the bill was $400.00. It just cannot be justified any more unfortunately. Nothing lasts forever, I guess.

    The Venue is the best sushi restaurant in The Desert. It’s really not even close. It’s expensive, but super high quality. Ambience within the expanded out door patio is delightful and Maria is amazing! Thank you.

    One of our go to sushi restaurants in Palm Desert. Lovely evening, so ate outside. We shared the langostina roll, which was huge, and all we needed. Nice wine list to enjoy as well. Always good!

    I have never been to a sushi restaurant where the base of EVERY roll is imitation crab. Unbelievable! They had very few fish choices so you couldn’t even create your own roll. If you’re really interested in sushi, this is definitely NOT the place to go.

    I went in alone and wanted to treat myself to the Chef’s Tasting menu. While there were a few hiccups around my food allergy, the server made everything right and it was a good experience overall.
