The Tenderloin Room
Open for Dinner Daily at 5pm
Outstanding! The food and service was exceptional! Can't wait to return
Celebrated completing a Disney 3-run weekend with a hearty steak and bottle of wine! The Tenderloin Room never disappoints, it feels quiet and special and the food is soooo good.
Bryan, our server, was intuitive and perceptive about our desires and needs that evening. Attentive when necessary and unintrusive when appropriate making for a very fine dining experience.
Excellent service and great food. Upscale slow relaxed dinner pace. Absolutely loved it and Nicolas our waiter/ host was fantastic.
We looked at several steakhouses. We went to the Symphony earlier and chose this one because it was open and close to the venue. This was our second time to visit St Louis from Nashville.
I started out with the special steamed shrimp appetizer. $15 for 4 medium to large shrimp. Zero flavor. No seasoning extremely bland. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye. Very little flavor. Was supposed to be aged. I couldn’t tell. Had an almost boiled flavor. It was obviously not due to grill marks. The twice baked mashed potatoes were ok. The broccoli could have been cooked a bit longer.
I was really looking forward to the Bananas Foster Flambe. The bananas were very undercooked. Our server, Danny was very kind but might need a bit of training with this. My husband and I split this dessert. We should have been offered a bowl or small plate to split this dessert. Very basic.
This was not a sous chef night. I asked. I hear this restaurant used to be great. It is not now. The staff were nice. The ambiance was nice. We really went for the food. It was extremely disappointing. Zero value for the money.
Food was great as well as the service. Ellis was wonderful. Always there when you needed him and not there when you didn’t
Outstanding steak served with their special sauce. We go there for all special occasions. The service is superb. We have been going to the Tenderlpin room for the past 25+ years and have never been disappointed.
A fun place with a wonderful seafood cart for starters. Very good steaks; we shared the large 22 ounce and it was perfectly prepared. Salads too are good.
It's not terrible; it's just no longer great. Husband's filet was properly cooked, but still dry. They tried to put sauce on it, but asked for it on the side. He ended up putting butter on it, which is fine, but shouldn't be necessary. My sea bass was good, but fishy until I buried it in lemon butter and salt. Wrong time of year for asparagus; very good potatoes.
Always great service, fine food, special flaming desserts . Recommend for any special occasions.
Expected better for the price. Food was so-so, wait staff was terrific.
Celebrated 41st anniversary and my husbands 75th birthday. Great food. Love the decor special place for special occasion. Will return. A bit noisy for an upscale elegant restaurant
Great food and service. Value of shrimp appetizers compared to price was high. $15 for 4 cocktail shrimp.
The place is over-priced and rests on the reputation of the aging hotel.
Excellent Service Staff, food was very good and generous serving size
The steak is so amazing -- best any of my part had ever had. Service is impeccable. It is somewhat noisy in the restaurant, so talking with a group was not as easy as we might have wished.
Like a trip back in time-excellent food, classic mitems with some timely updtaes, very well prepared, excellent service, served in a place that feels classically elegant. This restaraunt in the Chase goes back to the 60s. I hope it stays for another 50 years. Style, elegance, good service should never go out iof style.
The Tenderloin Room has been my go-to fine dining option for 25 years. If you are seeking great value, excellent service, a quiet and romantic setting with outstanding beef and fish entrees, The Tenderloin Room will be a favorite. Located in the Chase, it is centrally located and fun place to go!
Mary Zubert’s birthday. Spiro took very very good care of us. Rd the consummate restaurateur.
Serice from Spiro was outstanding as usual. We will be back.
Bone in ribeye excellent
Waiter (Nick) was slow initially but made up with great service
This was our second time there.
This grand restaurant represents all that is wonderful in dining out. The food is delicious, the ambiance is outstanding, and the service remarkable. Spiro is one of the finish waiters in the city. For a truly special dining experience go to the Tenderloin Room in the Chase Hotel.
Nice evening with people we love. Ellis did things just right and while always appropriate made is feel right at home. Good food. I little loud but they were busy on a Saturday night.
It was our 4th anniversary. The maitre’d was very knowledgeable. The food was excellent-tried the signature dish and we were both blown away by it. Highly recommend.
About the only place that I know of that serves marinated herring (a personal favorite). Tremendous food, though the ambiance is very formal and reserved.
Fantastic steak au poivre. So good!! Not cheap for the surf and turf ($95) but delicious!!
Crazy good food, knowledgeable staff, outstanding service by every definition of the word.
Spiro, Daniel & Nick are the best professional waiters in St. Louis.
Excellent as always. Great food and great service.
The service was fantastic! The steak was really good and was cooked just right. However, even though my wife and I split a 22 oz ribeye, it came cut in slices. I know this may present an issue when a steak is split, I would just preferred to have known as I prefer the whole piece of meat. My son had a Filet and he loved it. Potato and vegetables were great. My wife and son both had salads, Greek and Ceaear. Both wanted to finish them but did not want to fill up on salad with a steak coming. Wife's cheese cake with blueberries was great. Son's salted caramel creme brulee seemed to be coffee flavored, and it was taken off of our bill.
From the service at the Bar to the knowledgeable waiter and attentive staff, everything was perfect. Believe me we will make the Tenderloin Room a regular stop. Value was unbelievable. I am someone who travels all over the US and I seek out Restaurants like The Tenderloin Room and your St. Louis Gem stands out against any other Steak Houses in the US, including Peter Luger's, Morton's in Chicago, St. Elmo's and the like. Congratulations.
Arguably one of the finest meals I have ever enjoyed in a restaurant. The. Room, the. Food, and Spiro are an outstanding combination.
Great food, Spiro our server was exceptional, facilities outstanding
Great experience for my niece’s 30th birthday celebration. The food was excellent, the ambiance was nice and our server (Spiro, I think?) was professional and attentive without being intrusive.
We had Jacob as our waiter. He was very good. He was patient and explained the menu to us. He would wait until we were done talking, and then he would talk with us about the menu, or if we needed anything. He did not interrupt.
Ambiance was wonderful. Food was amazing. I see why you are known for the Pepperloin. Best I ever had.
The staff was amazing! Everyone was extremely friendly, and they had even signed a card for our occasion to which was awaiting us at our table. The environment was very pleasant. The meal was exquisite! Every detail was well thought out and a very enjoyable evening all around! Would highly recommend the experience for any special occasion.
Great tasting full service restaurant. Great service. Spirro great server.
The service and food was fantastic.
Wanted to go to a traditional St. Louis establishment and the Tenderloin Room did not disappoint. Felt elegant from the hotel entrance.
Was a special occasion and was treated as so. The recommendations from our waiter Spirio were on point.
As always, the service, cocktails and food was fantastic!
