The Ten Bells
Great! A good happy hour
Loved this little jewel that I wouldn't have found if not for their oyster happy hour! great service and nice atmosphere. will be back soon :)
Great food and a cozy atmosphere. The bar was packed but The dining area was pretty nice. The quality of food was very good and the price of both food and wine was very reasonable. The service was a little slow, but other than that: I’d go back!
Delicious food and great wine. We had a huge group and the wait staff accommodated us expertly. I will absolutely be back!
Amazing as it always is!!! The food, service, scene and the eclectic crowd make this a wonderful experience every time I go!!
Great authentic spanish food but not only, extensive choice of wines, great service, very nice evening
Unique place with an eclectic vibe, old world charm, new world spirit and delicious foods that range from the freshest oysters on the half shell to sumptuous tapas to a wine list that will satisfy any palate. Excellent, knowledgeable, and attentive service and perfect location.
Great night all around. Went for a birthday with a bunch of friends and the setting was perfect. Food was fantastic.
Very pleasant locale, a winebar with an interesting selection of wines emphasizing Spanish (no liquor), tapas and oysters with a happy hour deal of $1 oysters. Unfortunately on our visit they had only of the three kinds of oysters that they usually offer. Tapas were creative and excellently executed. All reasonably priced. Very pleasant staff.
Nice.. but very LOUD! Service was very good.. nice guy - Nick. Food was good. Very Dark inside.. can be very tight in terms of seating. Overall a good experience.
Favorite restaurant in the city but boy does it get crowded
Wonderful wine bar with both great wine and fantastic tapas! The octopus and the steak tartare are among my favorites. Super knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Good wine, good food, and nice service!!
We had a party of ten for a birthday celebration and they gave us the beautiful back room to ourselves. The atmosphere was intimate, the service was friendly and timely, and the food/drink was delicious. The salmon tartare, the crab meat and avocado, the croquettes, and the shrimp nachos were our favorites from the night. Would definitely recommend for large groups. So fun!
The Happy Hour was great. The location was accessible to my friends for a get-together. The ambiance had a nice old-world feel to it, but a tad dark. The waiter forgot our dessert until we reminded him, but up until that point, service was good and prompt. The long table could have been "partitioned" better so that we were not too close to the next group. The food was delicious. Overall, I gave it 4 stars for the reasons stated above. I will go back again.
My husband and I, though older than most of the Lower East Siders that frequent The Ten Bells, love this place. The tapas are fantastic, and the wine selection is splendid. The atmosphere is perfectly comfortable and cozy, like your favorite bar, the service is friendly and relaxed. Recommend the chorizo and the raclette on bread with pear! To boot, the place is a great value.
Birthday. Very nice and attentive. Would absolutely recommend
Amazing place! Thank you for making my birthday celebration so special! Enjoyed it to the fullest!
Really good service with a good French style service !
We order some wine which was not cold like we like, so the server offers us a first glass of white wine. So good wine !
Food was good. Good recommandation about the burrata with honey for our dessert.
Chocolate moelleux was amazing too.
Really good diner there, we will come back ;)
We reserved last minute for our party of 6 and the perfect cozy table was ready and waiting for us in the back. It's louder and more crowded in the front area so I was nervous about how comfortable we were going to be. Apparently there was no need to be! The back area for larger parties was cozy and quieter--the perfect place to catch up with friends on a rainy night. The service was great too! Our waiter was very accommodating with all of our varying preferences for wine and food and helpful. All in a all, a fantastic night!
Incredibly rude service... couldn’t even get a word in with the server who made the entire experience almost unbearable.
Great wine selection. Go as a group and get some bottles to try the really fun stuff. Service is busy but friendly and attentive. And they know their wine.
This is my all time favorite spot for a chill yet hip vibe, in which you don't sacrifice quality of food or quality of wine. I don't know what it is, but this place keeps drawing me back for whenever I need that perfect downtown wine bar experience, without the snobbery.
My entire party of 10 people was late by 30-40 minutes (some even later) which is often the breaking point for any restaurant! I received nothing but kindness and patience from Ten Bells though. The service was impeccable in this regard.
Food and ambience was really good. We ordered a Rose but the description on the wine menu didn't mention that it had orange. It wasn't bad, but was very unexpected, so one of the couples with me didn't like it.
Great local spot to grab after work dinner and a drink. Very cool vibe. I did not eat but the food looked great from afar. Highly recommend it.
Super fun, casual venue with an awesome selection of natural wines and good tapas style food. I love the peppers stuffed with tuna! The place can get quite loud, so one should realize that the vibe is more of a bar than a restaurant.
Cute quiet birthday dinner. Food and wine was amazing. Obsessed with the crab and avocado plate and the mac & cheese!
The wine we had was wonderful, a suggestion from the server. The food was quite good. Our first and last interactions with the staff were disappointing. Checking in for the reservation was confusing - no clear person to speak with, servers and bartenders all rushing by, no one asking us if we needed help for several minutes. When I got the attention of the bartender he seemed slightly annoyed and curt.
Our server during the meal was fine, not particularly warm or inviting, but not rude.
Leaving at the end of the meal, less than 90 minutes after we arrived, a different server asked us to leave as she needed to seat a large party where we were located. Granted she may have been seeing if she could move us elsewhere.
I had been looking forward to Tell Bells for a while, as I work in restaurants and with natural wine but the service won't have me rushing back.
Five of us enjoyed Happy Hour wine and tapas prior to attending show at nearby Dixon Place. Our server was very accommodating in getting us out the door in just over an hour.
Cozy yet lively vibe!
Nice place, good service, good food. We appreciate or 31 december. Thx!!!!!
The restaurant was delicious but I would book for more people that you need to. We had a reservation for 14 and were squished on a table that was more for 10 people. Once the people next to us left we were able to expand but seating is TIGHT!
That being said, food was really reasonable and the vibe was right! Would definitely go again.
Went here last night with a group of 11 ladies. We ordered the whole menu and it was a perfect amount. Everything was delicious! Service was good. The place was packed - in a good way! Great wine list! Great place for groups!
Surprised my husband for his birthday at The Ten Bells and invited 5 friends. We had a fantastic time and didn't want to leave. The staff was phenomenal. Very attentive and accommodating. We'll definitely be back!
I went here with a party of 5 and we had a great evening. Our waiter was accommodating and friendly, and the food was delicious. We came in from out of town just for the night and this was the perfect place to spend the evening. Can't wait to go back!
Best food in lower East Side ! Everything tastes great good and speedy service great prices
Made reservations for a party of four but they only had two chairs. When I asked to be seated somewhere else they said everything else was reserved. I later asked if they can bring any other chairs but they didn't have any. Half the party had to stand for over an hour. What's the point of making reservations if you're not guaranteed seats. Food wasn't anything special. I wouldn't wouldn't recommend this place.
Interesting, a bit dark for early evening tapas, sharing plates were very acceptable , service functional, general ambience suited to folks wishing to cash in on happy hour,.
natural wine bar, comfort food and tapas. Some wines were overpriced, but happy hour pricing was good on oysters and rose carafe. we did enjoy ourselves. was crowded on arrival but thinned out around 730. I would recommend to anyone to go.
The service was very good - what you'd imagine at a tapas bar... friendly, somewhat attentive, helpful. The food was the star of the show as almost every dish was great. The ones that I didn't think were really good was mainly an issue of preference. If you get there for their happy hour, you can get oysters for cheap... their oysters were very good quality for the price. Definitely recommend if you enjoy tapas.
