The Teahouse Restaurant
One of Stanley Park’s historic seaside landmarks, this popular meeting spot is minutes from downtown Vancouver and boasts an outdoor fireplace on the restaurant’s patio, which looks out to sunset views of Georgia Strait from the western tip of Stanley Park.
For private events, the Teahouse has three distinct rooms; perfect for seminars, meetings or special occasions of any kind. Each room offers ocean views that are unmatched in Vancouver.
The Teahouse is a contemporary dining experience with a difference, accompanied by the longest sunsets in the city.
Beautiful setting as always. Food was very well prepared. Service was on point.
Mark was a great server. Took advantage of Dine out Vancouver, they put on a good selection and great wine paring.
Great food and service plus lovably location.
I am an eggs bennie lover, and I had their salmon with hollandaise on a crisp bread, garnished with greens and broccoli, the best eggs benedict I had! Jason Kelly, the manager on duty was awesome!
Server was excellent as was the food and wine. Great experience!! Highly recommend the restaurant.
Teahouse always have great food.
One of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver because of location and coziness. The place is casual but the service is excellent. Two critics: the terrace is relatively shadowy and does not offer best views because of surrounding plants and chimney wall. The second minor critic is the limited tea selection which does not keep up with the name of the restaurant. Anyway, it is still the perfect spot to reward yourself after a walk or a biking tour in Stanley Park!
Excellent location, service and ambiance. Three in our party had the salmon raft and all three thought the food was delicious. I had the waffles and duck confit. Unfortunately, I found the duck and waffles to be on the dry side and the syrup had an unusual taste that was not very palatable. I did not enjoy my brunch as much as the others.
Teahouse is by far the best place to dine. I’m always pleased with their service and attentiveness to the patrons. Looking forward to visiting you again soon.
P.S. Thank you for the great service Vara. Happy new year
Amazing birthday brunch. Never disappointed, have been coming for years.
Eggs had glowing orange red yolks and ham had little flavor and was very chewy. The hollandaise sauce tasted more like dijon mustard. Not sure whose classic Benedict this was. Not mine. The potatoes appeared to be bland, hard cubes of long ago molded into dice shaped cubes and baked hash browns
Good meal and service! It would have been nice to know that the brunch vs lunch menu was being featured.
My husband and I went for Christmas dinner. It was our 2nd time to have a Christmas dinner there. Food is always nice and this time was the same. However, we were disappointed about the service this time. Our waiter was not paying attention to us at all. Although his service got better towards to the end but it was minimum service we could get and he missed one of the dishes including in the Christmas menu. We only indicated that at the end when we paid. He said he could bring it right away because it was ready already but we were already full and ready to leave.
Lovely experience, great ambiance
Always a special place to dine. Location/ ambiance trumps all. A little noisy on what was a very busy night. A little cool/ draughty in the winter - bring a sweater. VG attention from a competent server.
This has become a Christmas Eve tradition. The ambience is magical, but the carollers make the
experience so special. We will be back again next year.
Had a really nice Christmas Eve dinner here. Very warm ambience and food was very good. Only slight complaint was the speed with which the courses came. We had barely started our cocktails when the first course arrived. Would have liked a little more time to enjoy our drinks before the food started coming. Other than that, service was great as was the food. Lovely place to spend Christmas Eve!
We ate here Christmas Eve from the set menu. My gluten-free salmon dinner was excellent; I enjoyed how generous and moist the salmon was. Hubby was looking forward to a special turkey dinner but was disappointed with his meal, especially the stuffing. The servers were very attentive and the atmosphere is always classy. I agree with another reviewer that the babies crying detracted from the overall ambiance.
Even though the restaurant was beautifully decorated with lots of wonderful natural light flooding through the expansive windows, and the ambiance was festive, the food did not meet with my expectations. I had the 3-course prix-fixe lunch menu: carrot soup, salmon, and creme brulee. Both the soup and salmon were quite bland and boring, including the accompanying potatoes and broccolini . I had to add salt and pepper to everything (which is something I rarely have to do when eating out). It felt as if the food was prepared for an old folks home. Add to the fact, that the wrong dish was initially brought out (although this was promptly corrected and my prosecco was comped as a result) and there were screaming children, it kind of spoiled the Christmas Eve experience I had anticipated. For a Sequoia restaurant I would have expected "fancier" fare, both tastefully and visually. Maybe if I'd chosen from the a la carte menu and not visited during the busy holiday season, I would have had my expectations met, which is why I am willing to give the Teahouse another chance.
A thoroughly delightful experience. We requested a change in table due to an additional guest, and were promptly and pleasantly obliged.
Came here for a holiday date and it was lovely! The restaurant was well decorated for the holiday season. The food was not as good this time. I just felt like we’ve tasted better dishes here in the past. My boyfriend wanted the prime rib dinner but they sold out. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious! We still love it here and will be back in the future!
We made a reservation at The Teahouse for the Sunday rib roast and we were not disappointed. The meat was very tender and tasty. Love the Yorkshire Pudding too!
We enjoyed our meal at The Tea House.
Great ambiance 👍
Amazing hidden gem in the heart of Stanley Park to have a festive brunch with family. Great brunch selection of food and drinks. The view is breathtaking. Thank you for the great service and memories.
The Ventura’s & JDon
The Teahouse Restaurant is one of my all time favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The only thing I can say that was disappointing is they no longer have the Kings Delight (a wonderful pastry filled with custard in the shape of a swan floating on a pond of melted chocolate - Yum, Yum). We did have a dessert and I had a wonderful Shrimp Cocktail with a twist instead of cocktail sauce we had avocado, horseraddish cucumber mixed. All of the food was so delicious and it was easy to get to, parking was readily available and we got to have a tour of the park on the way...the view of the bay was also very soothing.
I am never disappointed by a meal at the Teahouse. The view, the surroundings, comfort of the restaurant, the food choices served by very capable friendly staff. The Teahouse is a special Vancouver Gem.
Overall very good
Overall good traditional classy type restaurant
Not the usual stellar experience I've come to expect from the Teahouse. Food was fine, not outstanding. Service seemed disjointed at times. Not a busy evening so though it could have been better. With all of the great choices in Vancouver I'll probably look for other options
I met up with some friends from work. We’re all retired now and one lady has moved out-of-town. The Teahouse was the perfect place to have lunch and be able to catch up. The food was great, the view and ambience were lovely, and it was quiet enough to be able to hear each other, unlike a lot of restaurants in downtown Vancouver. We had a lovely, leisurely lunch and didn’t feel pressured to leave. I’m planning on going back with my husband one day soon.
Great food as always. Perfect steak. Not too pricy. Good portion
It was my mothers 83rd Birthday and was the first time either of us had been to the Tea house. Waitress was excellent and food was very good. Felt very comfortable in the surroundings.
My wife and I will be back. We now have two favorite spots, The Tea House and Carderos
Food and service were excellent, as was the old-world atmosphere inside the Teahouse, while a table by the window enabled us to enjoy the distant lights and the occasional passing boat. Unfortunately, a nearby table was occupied by about a dozen people — an office party? — whose conversation and enjoyment were readily apparent.
Wild mushroom ravioli was delicious; service superb; appreciated the fleece throw offered to the patrons; was very rainy day so used throw as a shoulder wrap; cosy setting; creme brulee was light with a crunchy top; tasty coffee but quite strong. Be sure to pay for lots of parking time - meter expired and 15 mins later my car was ticketed to the tune of $45.00!! Annoying bc there were over 20 vacant spaces, so beware.
Great service, the food was delicious and well presented. Beautiful view. I would highly recommend.
Good service ! We had a good time .
Lovely perfect ambience for a cold wet day. Cozy but bright, quiet for good conversation. Picture natural light from mostly a dome of glass and a large wood burning fireplace along with ocean views.
Prices reasonable, especially given the location. Food pretty good.
The only thing I didn't like was the sense of timing. Felt somewhat pressured to order and food came too fast. Though at the end they said we could take our time leaving (which was nice, and made sense as the restaurant didn't seem overly busy). I don't think the timing issue was on purpose.
Having said all that I would definitely recommend and come back.
Large private corporate event contributed to the noise level but it was fine
