Mother's Day Menus & Specials
Diamond Mills celebrates this Mother’s Day with a specially designed brunch menu crafted with love by our own Chef Marcos Castro. Discover the Gem of the Hudson Valley here in Saugerties, NY and pamper your “mom” with a waterfront brunch overlooking the Esopus Falls at The Tavern at Diamond Mills!
We arrived late for our reservation and due to a glitch with the Open Table app we almost missed out on my birthday dinner all together (the app had the restaurant’s hours wrong). The wonderful staff welcomed us in from the rain, however. We had a delicious dinner and the service was top notch. Our server was personable and attentive. This will definitely go down as one of my best birthday dinners! Thank you!
Remember this is still COVID-19 time and The Tavern is not busy for lunch.
We thoroughly enjoyed even the noisy (thanks to the mills falls!) on the outdoor terrace and hope to return when both the charming dining room(s) and terrace are newly opened. Service was impeccable and friendly; the food was delicious. We recommend the Sticky Tofu and mussels as appetisers: quite yummy! My teenage grandson (very discerning!) enjoyed the risotto with crab cakes, an unusual combination which worked! Portions are generous and easily shared.
By way of a little explanation: we were 3 generations: my daughter and my grandson joined me; all were (for different reasons?) delighted to have made the journey from across the river where we live in southern Columbia county. Well worth the trip and we hope surely soon to return.
Love Diamond Mills and have enjoyed it for years. It is a wonderful spot for Saugerties to have.
Beautiful setting, considerate and attentive staff, very clean and safe. Food is excellent, bar drinks perfect. Our Easter Brunch tradition looking forward to celebrating more holidays here.
The food was amazing and the staff was very helpful.
Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Server was charming but a little overextended (not his fault.)
Good environment felt safe and enjoyed our m al
Food was good service was horrid
Hidden Gem, amazing food prepared fresh, incredible view (overlooking the dam & waterfall), attentive staff (Server Drima was outstanding, as well all the other staff). Would highly recommend if you are in the area for lunch, brunch or dinner. We 2 times (Dinner and lunch) during our stay next door at the Diamond Mills Hotel. We cannot wait to return when it gets warmer.
Great food, great view! A couple of vegan options but more would be nice. Everyone there is very nice and attentive!
Would recommend this tavern for occasional outing or a romantic dinner with your spouse. Was an absolute pleasure going here.
Everything tasted great but the chowder could have been warmer. It was warm at best.
The First Friday dinners are a welcome respite from the COVID-19 shut in lockdowns and are affordable for those of us whose incomes have been affected.
The restaurant was gorgeous with a lovely view. We had minor complaints about the food- the risotto was made with brown rice which made it very chewy as the rice didn’t break down (not the creaminess you’d expect from a risotto) and the chicken sandwich didn’t have enough sauce on it to have the full honey sriracha taste. But overall, very good. There is a fantastic bottomless mimosa option at a great price and they come DIY style, which is always an excellent touch.
Everything was incredible; the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We were seated by the fire place. The perfect spot for a cold winter night! We will be back again soon!
A beautiful and quiet place to enjoy a delicious meal. The ambiance is perfect. Very polite and accommodating wait staff. We will definitely return.
Had Valentine’s Day dinner there. Waiter seemed very off and it wasn’t busy when we were there at 5:15pm. He came over and read us the specials 3 times. We ordered our meals, I had steak medium well and he had crab cakes. It literally came out 7 mins after we ordered. Steak was so dry and fatty. I didn’t complain or say anything about it, but I did waste half of it. We both had one drink. Quick and simple meal. Fast forward, we get the bill and it came to about $85. The bill came and it looked like it was already paid for. We asked the waiter but he didn’t really seem to know. So I went to the manager to inquire and it turned out that his sister called ahead of time and bought us a $100 gift card for Valentine’s Day and his bday and it was supposed to be presented to us before the meal bu the waiter but it wasn’t. He just opened the envelope and charged the gift card inside without even telling us about it. We would have ordered another drink to use the full amount. The waiter that night really had no idea what was going on and like I said it wasn’t even that busy at the time. So needless to say we didn’t even have a chance to use the gift card to the full amount that his sister paid for. The whole experience just was not what we expected for such a highly recommended place.
We have been to Diamond Mills about ten times and it’s always a treat. Amazing food. Staff are friendly and hard working. I highly recommend Diamond Mills. Also there is a great view of a waterfall, and the decor is wonderful. They have special meals all of the time. Great place!!
Perfect restaurant with great service and delicious food ! We will come back!
We had a great dinner with excellent service. The food was served hot and on time, the salads were fresh and tasty and the desert was fabulous.
The food was great and everyone was very nice but it took a very long time to get drinks. We finished our appetizers and our plates were cleared before I received the champagne I ordered when we first sat down. Dinner was amazing and our server was very nice but when we were finished our check sat with a credit card on it for over 20 minutes before I had to ask another member of the service team to give it to him so we could leave.
Food was delicious and our server was fantastic! I’ve been going here for the past 3 years for Valentine’s Day and it’s always amazing.
Love this place... everything is amazing! Try the impossible burger!!!!
We celebrated the new year at Diamond Mills and it was absolutely incredible! Our server, Christine, was knowledgeable and personable. If you’re lucky enough to get her as your server, you won’t be disappointed. It turns out that January 1st also happened to be First Friday, a monthly event at Diamond Mills. This month’s menu was so delicious, I can’t even explain how good it was. The chef did an outstanding job creating this menu. The theme was Italian and included a five course meal; Italian wedding soup, antipasto, the most heavenly pasta you will ever have in your entire life, an entree (braised chicken, swordfish, or vegetarian) and dessert. I was too busy enjoying that I forgot to take pictures of all the courses. Thank you for an amazing start to 2021!!!
Fabulous as usual
Great fireplace
Superior service
I had my first Impossible burger, it was quite good
This us a great place to visit
Food was great. Set up was much better than the Thanksgiving meal last month. Very happy.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Tavern today. The short rib grilled cheese was amazing! It was the perfect meal to keep warm on such a chilly day. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the fire place created a warm and cozy atmosphere!
Amazing food
Fabulous Service
The chef is the best
We love dining there
From start to finish, from servers to dessert, everything was top notch! I would highly recommend.
This was my first time attending the First Friday event at Diamond Mills and let me tell you, it was spectacular. The dishes were warm and comforting - perfect for the chilly weather! The gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had, and the chocolate dessert was literal heaven. Thank you, thank you! Always a wonderful meal when I go to DM!
Everything was great! The outside was heated and everything was safe. Food and drinks were amazing.
Went for post Thanksgiving brunch and had a lovely view of the falls from the outdoor tent. We were warm because the sun was shining on our table and we had a heat lamp too. Everything except the Heuvos Rancheros was good. The Huevos was really basic and any person could make a better one at home.
Excellent service
Food was decent. The set up was a bit lacking... small table for more than two plates. They served the sides, including gravy and cranberry sauce before the main course & took it before we were served the main course. Thus, the turkey was dry. The beef was over cooked & the stuffing was not great at all.
The desserts were tasty and overall it was pleasant.
Exceptional, Food,Service and Covid compliant. 10 Stars ⭐️ for this outstanding Restaurant
This visit was for Thanksgiving dinner, so it probably shouldn’t be taken as an overall evaluation of the Diamond Mills Tavern. For a start, it was served in the ballroom, not the tavern, to provide a safer environment in the midst of a raging pandemic, something we really appreciated.
The space was arranged with about 20 feet separating tables in the large ballroom. Servers all wore masks, and food was brought to the table on large trays, from which diners could serve themselves for most of the dishes.
Service was of varying quality, which we forgive based on the circumstances, but service varied in timing from table to table; for example, we were served well after most of the other tables (even though we were the first to arrive). However, a manager made a real effort to see to our needs once it was brought to her attention.
The food was much better than average for a mass Thanksgiving dinner, with a very large selection of main courses, an ample choice of vegetarian dishes, and excellently prepared side dishes. While the $50/person dinner was well below the $150/person dinner we had in Philadelphia the previous year, we enjoyed all of the dishes and even took some back to our inn.
Overall we would do it again.
And birthday

We have always enjoyed the Diamond Mills for it’s ambience, delicious well presented food, and service. As always, the views are spectacular and it was nice to sit outdoors with heaters. This visit was an incredible disappointment.
We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant Week (HVRW), for which we found the attached website and menu on the Diamond Hills own website (attached screenshot from today’s date.). We also made the reservation through your Open Table HVRW website. The manager said they were not participating and asked me to send the link, which I had showed her at the table. Her email rejected mine when I sent it. She did not have the courtesy or good business sense to even offer a complementary appetizer or dessert with our trouble (and proof of their false advertising).
My Impossible Burger was good, despite being slightly burnt. My husband’s brisket was a complete embarrassment; dry and bland , with no seasoning or sauce. The puréed parsnips and carrots were also tasteless. Both dishes were overpriced lunch servings. A $21 burger in Ulster county?
Maybe we would give it one more chance, but we recommend they rehire their previous manager, cook, and waitstaff, all of whom made DM a high quality, classy eatery. It’s lost in every category.
Took 30 minutes to have our drink order taken. The table next to us was seated after we were and their order was taken right away. The waiters tended to all the tables around us and did not even glance our way, despite my waving my hand for attention. It was not busy. Food was bland. We were about to get up and leave when the waiter finally came over. Claiming there was a shift change. Which is nonsense because our reservation was for 7:30. No one helped us until 8, and the restaurant closes at 9. I’m not sure what happened but it was definitely disorganized and annoying
