We were lucky enough to get a table next to the window right away. Julian, our server, was excellent! Every recommendation she gave us on menu items was a winner! We will definitely be back.
MAKE SURE YOU PUT THIS AMAZING FOOD on your hit list in charleston. Do not be fooled that this restaurant is at the Francis Marion Hotel, It’s not just a guest services eatery. It is serious. This place will blow your mind. The food is second to none and could easily be five blocks up on King Street where you would pay $80 a plate and be happy about it, sincerely!! I enjoyed fillet and tail tonight and I will tell you Halls chophouse better pay attention. The filet Melted in my mouth and not on my fork if you know what I mean. We Brought a friend in from out of town and he was blown away.
See if you can get a table by the windows to enjoy the King Street nightlife.
Service was by Julian who was fantastic. She knew her food, knew the ingredients and made excellent suggestions.... and oh by the way, the drinks were out of hand. It was like they could pour you a weaker drink, but they would hate themselves in the morning. On Our first experience here, our server was Maya and she was amazing She happened to see us and came over and visited with us and we told her that our second dinner was even better than the first.
Locals and tourists: this is a little gem that instead of paying $80 a plate you will pay a little bit less, but receive top service and food that is just fantastic. Prepare to blow the taste buds right off your tongue...(in a good way:).
The food I ordered was not very pleasant. It could’ve been Me. Enjoy around me seem to enjoy theirs. I will be back to prefer something else.
I had planned a Valentine's weekend get away as surprise for my husband with our date night dinner at The Swamp Fox. I was very nervous, as my husband usually does all the planning, but was extremely pleased with our reservation and the food! Service was great, ambience was perfect and social distancing was maintained. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work in making everything 100% perfect... We will be back!
Valentine day special was a wonderful experience. Had reservations for 6PM for me and my lady. We were promptly seated and the food and service was excellent. We were seated a little to close to the piano player so it was difficult to carry on a conversation.
The piano player was the best in the dining experience.
Very nice setting, great food and service. Good date location.
It had a great view of Marion square, wonderful low country cuisine and a very responsive staff! I highly recommend this restaurant...
We stayed at the Francis Marion hotel for a little local’s getaway to celebrate my birthday. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent. My husband had the filet mignon and it was amazing! I had the petite shrimp and grits. It was exactly what I was hoping for and the portions were huge! It was a nice romantic atmosphere with great service.
Overall our experience was great! The food was very good and shrimp and grits was some of the best I've ever had. Our server was very sweet but super uneducated as how to do wine service and another server seemed very uncomfortable and kept her hands in her sleeves at her table the whole time. Just need to train them better...but since I'm not picky it was overall a nice time!
The Pork and Gnocchi and the bacon/cheddar hush puppies were delicious.
Enjoyed this date on a rainy night but surprised valet parking only for residents not diners. Ran out of Moet (!) so Mumm a reasonable substitute plonk.
My husband and I tried this place because they extended their restaurant week offer, plus included a free glass of wine, so we figured it would at least be an inexpensive night. We were completely and pleasantly surprised to find that the food was excellent and our server was attentive, warm and friendly. We both had the She-crab soup to start- it was hot, full of crab and had the perfect amount of sherry drizzled on top. We then both had the Brussel sprout appetizer, which was amazing! The Brussels were crispy and seasoned just right with an aioli sauce on the side that was phenomenal. I had a burger- cooked exactly to order and not over-salted. My husband had the salmon, which was a decent portion and cooked perfectly. The only "complaint" was that it looked like we were dining in the breakfast buffet area of a hotel (which I believe we were) but the food and our amazing server, Maya, made up for it. Looking forward to returning!
We have been dining at the Swamp Fox Room for many years. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston. The food & service have always been good... and the meals are not over priced. We did miss the pianist that is usually playing - but do understand during these times that is not always possible.
Had dinner and breakfast. Dinner food was okay. Breakfast was great.
Very nice place overall. Staff was top notch.
Food is the best of Charleston! We enjoyed our shrimp and grits and salmon . Wonderful service! our waitress ,Silvie, was very attentive ,energetic, and professional! Best food and service always!
She crab soup was very good. I was expecting a cup, but got a bowl. Great value.
Service was somewhat mid level for this Resteraunt.
food and service were great.
Amazing shrimp and grits.
Great spot in walking distance to everything. Went for restaurant week, everything was an amazing!
This was a reastaurant week meal ... great value for good food inckuding a glass of wine apiece. Service was prompt and attentive!
Very yummy and tables spaces far apart for covid safety!
Great food and great service. We dined during restaurant week and the price was outstanding.
We attended your restaurant during restaurant week and it was exceptional to say the least. Our waitresses name was Sylvia and she was magnificent. I have already highly recommended your restaurant to several people. Thank you
We love Charleston and we love the Swamp Fox restaurant breakfast is great dinner is great the staff are great the atmosphere is also great we will be back
Not a fancy restaurant
Food was good but not memorable
I visited during restaurant week 2021 & I was very pleased with the three course meal! Great price point, the menu options were so good, it took me a while to decide what to choose. The she crab soup with the sherry drizzle was a hit. Will definitely return.
Our server, Sylvie, was amazing! So friendly and personable and she provided excellent service. We really enjoyed her and our delicious lunch!
It's a hotel restaurant so don't expect fine dining. Overall decent but it's a one and done for me.
Great food! Loved the restaurant week deal. Would come again.
When my sister comes for a visit we always go to a restaurant we've not tried. This visit we chose Swamp Fox. Our lunch was Wonderful, not just the food but the service too! This is the one restaurant we will do more.
Not a real restaurant, just a hotel lobby. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes and didn’t see a single worker so we left.
Highly recommended! Amazing food and great service! Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Charleston.
The food and customer service was not good or what I expected. Our hostess MAYA did not interact with us at all. My husband's chicken was burnt. We will not go back there when we visit Charleston again.
I planned a walk around Marion Square and needed a place for New Year's Day lunch. The Swamp Fox was the perfect location because it is across the street from Marion Square. I REALLY wanted a traditional New Year's Day meal and their special of the day included Hoppin' John and Collard Greens. Our table was ready when we got there and the service was excellent. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits. I tasted his and they were superb.
NYE dinner at the Swamp Fox was really nice. The owner of the hotel stopped by our table to say hello. The steak and pasta was delicious!
New Years dinner celebration!
