She crab soup was very good. I was expecting a cup, but got a bowl. Great value.
food and service were great.
Amazing shrimp and grits.
Great spot in walking distance to everything. Went for restaurant week, everything was an amazing!
This was a reastaurant week meal ... great value for good food inckuding a glass of wine apiece. Service was prompt and attentive!
Very yummy and tables spaces far apart for covid safety!
Great food and great service. We dined during restaurant week and the price was outstanding.
We attended your restaurant during restaurant week and it was exceptional to say the least. Our waitresses name was Sylvia and she was magnificent. I have already highly recommended your restaurant to several people. Thank you
We love Charleston and we love the Swamp Fox restaurant breakfast is great dinner is great the staff are great the atmosphere is also great we will be back
I visited during restaurant week 2021 & I was very pleased with the three course meal! Great price point, the menu options were so good, it took me a while to decide what to choose. The she crab soup with the sherry drizzle was a hit. Will definitely return.
Our server, Sylvie, was amazing! So friendly and personable and she provided excellent service. We really enjoyed her and our delicious lunch!
It's a hotel restaurant so don't expect fine dining. Overall decent but it's a one and done for me.
Great food! Loved the restaurant week deal. Would come again.
When my sister comes for a visit we always go to a restaurant we've not tried. This visit we chose Swamp Fox. Our lunch was Wonderful, not just the food but the service too! This is the one restaurant we will do more.
Not a real restaurant, just a hotel lobby. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes and didn’t see a single worker so we left.
Highly recommended! Amazing food and great service! Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Charleston.
The food and customer service was not good or what I expected. Our hostess MAYA did not interact with us at all. My husband's chicken was burnt. We will not go back there when we visit Charleston again.
Anniversary
I planned a walk around Marion Square and needed a place for New Year's Day lunch. The Swamp Fox was the perfect location because it is across the street from Marion Square. I REALLY wanted a traditional New Year's Day meal and their special of the day included Hoppin' John and Collard Greens. Our table was ready when we got there and the service was excellent. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits. I tasted his and they were superb.
NYE dinner at the Swamp Fox was really nice. The owner of the hotel stopped by our table to say hello. The steak and pasta was delicious!
New Years dinner celebration!
Keeping in mind the crazy times our country is experiencing, especially how it affects the food and dining business, we did not want to be too critical. My crab cakes were way too salty and many of our dishes had substitutes of their sides/accompaniments from what the original description on menu was. Small issue, but waiter should have alerted us. Service was good, spent many evenings in the bar area and the bar tender was wonderful! Overall, would dine here again.
Everyone was extremely friendly fun food and be ersges
The sides were probably the best of the entire meal. The waitress was new so service was a bit slow. The macaroni & cheese was top notch but the fried chicken was half-burnt. Should have just stick to the sides which were all good.
Food was excellent. However, because we had a later seating, the kitchen ran out of some of the selections. Our server was exceptional. He went above and beyond to make everything right. Despite the hiccups we had a good experience.
We enjoyed the food, it was super, prime rib and swordfish. However, the piano was so loud we had to talk loud to each other. Service was less than wonderful, as the server left plates that were empty, the special appetizer they served on Christmas, the entire time we were there dining. Also, there was a miscue on our beverages, we were told, a beer and a glass of wine were poured twice. Well, he brought all four to the table, horrid. My husband's 2nd beer (free, as was my 2nd wine) was not cold when he was ready to drink it.
The shrimp and grits were great! It was a nice change of pace on Christmas day.
Dinner on Christmas Day was wonderful. The wait staff went above and beyond to make the entire experience very special. Will do this again soon
The live piano music added to the ambiance
Food was very affordable and tasted great
Sylvia was extremely pleasant and welcoming. I has Christmas dinner at Swampfox. Fixed menu and several choices. The mimosa was very heavy handed on the alcohol. I sipped it and left it. I would have preferred a glass of juice but wasn't asked why the mimosa sat there untouched. The mushroom bisque was absolutely outstanding! The highlight of the meal and experience by far. I ordered the prime rib plate. Rib was good, correct temperature. Au jus tasted tarragon heavy. A nice horseradish cream would have been excellent I'm sure. Mashed potates and root veggies were ice cold. The veggies bordered on raw with no butter or flavor. I asked for the apple desert to go. Later on when I looked in my bag, it was pecan pie. I am grateful to have had a nice meal in such a beautiful setting, and on Christmas Day! Thank You to all that worked hard to make this a nice experience
Excellent bar service and waitstaff. The prime rib and au jus were a treat and our table had an awesome view of the Christmas tree in Marion Square.
The restaurant was delightful. Our server was very attentive to making sure we had a superb experience. Selvoi was funny. I definitely will go back.
Went there for our 20th anniversary based on previous reviews. The food was ok, but not special. The salmon came with a load of oil on the plate soaking the mashed potatoes which spoiled the otherwise well-prepared dish. Otherwise, the atmosphere was somewhat eery. But that might be because of the general emptiness due to corona.
Food was fabulous;
Southern hospitality at its finest!
Nice restaurant with a great menu. It was very quiet and the service was great. My husband and I both enjoyed our food. A had a 1/2 size portion salad and it was huge. He really enjoyed the truffle burger. We will go back, for sure.
Food made partner sick within 10 minutes of leaving the restaurant... will not return.
Great food. Good service. The salmon special was delicious.
Our family o f four members enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at The Swamp Fox. It was a delightful experience with excellent service and delicious meal options!
Wonderful thanksgiving meal!
We’ve been there before and loved it, but it came up short this time.
