The service was very good. Our server was very friendly and professional. The food we ordered was excellent. The piano player was very good and gave a calming atmosphere. The only time it was noisy when big tables came in as they tended to shout to each other and it echoed. Definitely would eat here again during our next visit to Charleston.

Enjoyed a beautiful dinner here last night. Our server Joe was extremely attentive, kept our drinks flowing, kept the bread coming, and spaced out our appetizers and main courses beautifully. We had the deviled crab, Bibb salad, short rib ragu, and the fried chicken 10/10! We will definitely be returning.

I really wanted to like it — but we waited 10 min before the host came back to the stand. And the food was not great — the best thing was the free sourdough bread. The fried chicken was dry and unseasoned: mashed potatoes tasted like there was cheese in them. Grits were “interesting.”

They had the best fried green tomatoes I’ve ever had. It was next level with the bacon marmalade.

Good food but it’s a noisy restaurant. Service was a little slow, but great flavors.

The swamp fox restaurant is nestled in side the Francis Marion Hotel. It’s not too fancy a place to enjoy dinner and is recently quiet. We ordered the shrimp and grits which we strongly recommend as it was delicious. The service is good as well as the food. We thought it was a good value. Lots of good things to eat on the menu.

After reading the reviews I was expecting more. The dining room is tired and could use an update. Most options are fried such as the green tomatoes and the hush puppies. Neither were very good. The homemade bread and the pasta special were very good. Overall I thought it was overpriced for what we ordered.

Great dining experience and place to bring out of town guests where you can have a conversation and actually hear each other. The service was very attentive and did a great job answering questions regarding the menu.

Had the she crab soup and petite shrimp and grits and they were superb. Live piano music and a comfortable dining area made the evening extra nice. Very good service and easy to make online reservations made this a great visit all around.
