Brilliant lunch, wonderful round table and even though it rained, we had such a lovely time! Thank you very much! The restaurant was lovely and light, food was delicious and service was fantastic.
Lovely venue, setting and atmosphere. Food was great, though poached eggs were over cooked. Service was a little slow.
We were not informed prior to booking that we would only have our table for 2 hours. We were not told on arrival at the restaurant either. We found out when we ordered dessert and coffee by a very Curt waiter telling us he will check if we have time !! Not what I expect. Extremely disappointing and ruined the whole evening out with our friends. I have emailed the restaurant but as yet have not had a reply.
A delightful venue.
Made to feel welcome. Felt safe as well ventilated on the canal side.
Beautifully presented food efficiently served.
Was amazing experience.
We gonna come back definitely soon.
Lovely setting, amazing food and great service! Will definitely go back again
Lucky to have table for four by canal. Served by a charming Irish waitress whose pace was calm and efficient. Brunch was plenty and delicious for all of us. Really can not fault the Summerhouse, I love it here.
Very friendly staff and great service
Our friends came from France and we wanted to make a good impression: they placed us in front of the channel, with the ducks dancing in front of us! It’s was sooo good :)
Can’t wait to be back! Thanks team!
The venue and food were amazing, however our food arrived very quick and we felt rushed. We had revived all three courses within an hour and therefore didn’t feel as welcomed as we would have expected.
This was our second visit and again we were delighted with the service, ambiance and exceptional food. Overlooking the canal it is a superb setting and we cannot wait to return in the very near future.
One of my favorite restaurants in London, a secret gem :)
Our first visit and such a suprise and perfect spot for a meal. If I’d known how many plant based options there are I would have come here sooner! We will be back.
Wonderful location on the canal, and with tremendous ambience. The food that we ordered was quite good.
I've been going to the Summerhouse occasionally for years! If easy, cosy super cute ambience with great food and service is what you are looking for then this place might be right for you! Whether you want to meet up with friends/family or take your date for a romantic evening meal the Summerhouse is always goo idea!
Great location on the river and lovely seafood. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful experience brunching and enjoying the canal boats float by. What a wonderful experience. Lovely service staff too, thank you!
Utterly incredible setting! Food was amazing, so much variety and the service was impeccable! Can’t wait to come again.
Amazing seafood - easily my favourite place in London for it and I've eaten at quite a few.
Expensive (sides plus fish mains are ~£30), so not somewhere to eat regularly but good for special locations. The tables located by the canalside are particularly picturesque and make for a great dining experience.
Another lovely relaxed meal at a neighbourhood favourite. Great little hidden gem. George and the team made us feel very welcome.
I regularly day dream about their king prawns peeled at the table with a simple splash of lemon juice and a saucy dip of mayo. The food is great with a leaning towards seafood that reminds me of a lovely seaside port town. The crowd is always smart and local heavy and the service is just right--not over or under bearing. Nothing beats a meal here on a summer evening.
A light and summery space in a charming setting, albeit with plastic foliage.
Clientele were smart yet unpretentious.
The service was attentive and
the food and, in particular, wines were good value.
I'm curious to see if it's equally seductive in the depths of a London winter. The 'plant' life should survive!
Shall be recommending (and revisiting) this gem of an eatery.
Can I start by saying that the food and waiter service was very good.
However the visit was to some extent spoiled due to the front of house manager. I booked a table for 2.30 to ensure that we would get a table by the canal. The restaurant was about 50% full. We were shown by the manager to a table on the canal. I did say to the manager with it being very hot that we might have to move to another table. He was very surly in his response and said only if there was a table available. We did find it too hot and I saw another table on the canal with 2 seats out of the sun. I said to the manager that we would try sitting there but would move if it got too hot. Once again the manager was rather unpleasant with his response intimating that there might not be another table available. All of this with a background of a half empty restaurant. In fact and the manager must have known this that after our arrival only one other group of five people arrived.
Whilst I am sure that in a busy full restaurant our moving around would not be acceptable in a restaurant half full I do not think that we were unreasonable and the manager should have been more polite.
Enjoyed our dinner here. The food was fresh and tasted delicious
Gorgeous setting for lunch beside the river, happy staff and really good food and drinks
Service was diabolical. Waiting 20 minutes for iced water. Staff did not seem to have any idea. I spoke to the manger on two occasions and was really disappointed as the setting is gorgeous. Food was okay but the experience was ruined by the service.
A very special place to celebrate my birthday. The food is fabulous!
The four of us had a splendid leisurely luncheon on 06 September. Thank you very much indeed!
Absolutely superb food and price was very reasonable for the quality. Really good service, very attentive, didn't have to wait for anything. Only criticism would be the 12.5% "optional" service charge which I thought was excessive. We asked it to be removed and left a tip for the waitress. But overall excellent dining experience would definitely recommend and would go there again if we are in the area.
Great find! on the canal so nice view tucked away behind a wall good decor for the location good food
Fabulous venue for a special treat. Love the sunmerhouse
the food did not have a lot of taste, all a bit boring really. I had the swordfish tartare and the pan fried prawns. the lemon tart with rhubarb sauce was better.
Great food, atmosphere and service. The setting is amazing. A lovely late summer lunch
Food was pretty average. Not worth the price. A nice enough place nonetheless.
Great food and excellent service
Great place to take someone special in London - food is amazing along with the service and great value for seafood
Amazing ambience, and food was delicious. Really great tough with providing the free scoop of ice-cream with a candle for the birthday girl, it was very much appreciated and a wonderful gesuture.
The location is everything! Wonderful experience.
Wow. Summerhouse keeps on getting better and better every time I go and last night (when I took my date there) it was probably the best experience I've ever had here.
The decor with vines, greenery and candle mood-lighting combined with the beautiful canal view creates a very romantic ambience which you notice as soon as you walk in so it's perfect for a date night.
When it comes to the food we had the popcorn shrimp, scallops and whole lobster then shared their knickerbockerglory ice-cream dessert, all of which were absolutely delicious, fresh and perfectly cooked.
Special thanks to our lovely waitress Daniela who could not have been more attentive, efficient and friendly - first class service!
10/10 amazing - highly recommended and we'll definitely be coming back soon.
I’ve been here twice before with friends and had wonderful lunches. Yesterday I took my wife, unfortunately I ordered a wine which after tasting she didn’t like. When asking for a change they informed us we’d have to pay for both bottles of wine. Whilst I can appreciate their position it was a disappointment given what I perceived as the quality of the restaurant! They were inflexible in their approach regarding this issue. I ended up paying therefore for a bottle of wine we didn’t drink on the day. At my insistence they retrieved the cork and I took the bottle home. I would have hoped that in future they might be more flexible with regards to an issue such as this.
That said the food was good and the ambience agreeable.
