My wife and I had our 3rd anniversary at The Strand House. The service was excellent and so was the food. But the personal touches like the glass of champagne, personalized menus and greeting from the manager Martin was amazing and made our night.
Have always been quite pleased with the fare offered. On our favorites list
All amazing from beginning to end :)
The set ice was very slow- had to keep asking her get our drinks and had to wait a while before the drinks were served
Our server, Craig was great. He has a lovely way of describing all the dishes. Knows the menu inside & out. We had a table by the window with an ocean view. The food was FANTASTIC. Best oysters I have ever had. We also ordered the octopus to start, delicious. Among us, we ordered the branzino (a must!), the pork chop (another must!) their pasta (to die for) and salmon (an original preparation with beets, so good!). We’re really not doing dessert these days, but we ordered the cheesecake for the table. The cheese blend was so good, delicate and decadent enhanced by winter citrus accented with a dehydrated slice of blood orange.
The restaurant is busy and pretty loud. We had to talk loud and lean in to chat at our table.
Over all it was a great experience!
It was restaurant week and the place had an excellent fix prix menu. Service was excellent. View was beautiful. Had a drink at the bar beforehand and that was fantastic. Price was very reasonable. My steak was excellent. The duck was cooked great. My wife's lobster pasta and her beet salad were a big hit. The donuts at the end of the night were wonderful. All-in-all, an amazing experience.
We brought some out of town friends here for dinner on a Sunday night. The view is spectacular but the noise level in the restaurant makes it almost impossible to hear anyone at your table. The food was very good, I had the Branzino which was excellent, the oysters were good, and my husband’s rack of lamb was very very good. Really the noise level was the only draw back to the restaurant. Staff was very responsive.
Love coming here for dinner and brunch as well. Had a great time with my friends to celebrate my birthday plus the view is spectacular.
Excellent Food, love coming here for dinner and drinks.
Great sunset great food
Good food, great service and the BEST view! Recommend for meals and drinks with friends.
Nice meal, but a little expensive for what it was! Cinnamon roll for dessert was amazing though. Really loud in there — it was hard to hear my tablemates!
Went for brunch. Beautiful ambiance, solid brunch menu and the service was great! Request an indoor table by the window facing the ocean—gorgeous view on a nice day!
A great staple for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Food is great and service is always consistent.
My friend and I had a wonderful lunch with a magnificent view of the ocean. Our server was first rate.
The Strand is one of my favorite spots.
The views are outstanding, but more importantly so is the service and the good. Had the Branzino and it falls into my top 5 all time Branzino dishes. This place is a must!
I’ll start by saying my initial glass of water was brought to my table with pink lipstick all around the rim & a string of hair. Our waiter, who greeted us over 15mins after being seated, was far less attentive than necessary. He forgot to put in our yellowtail & french frie order (we started with the small bite menu, later ordering from the 5pm dinner menu) which left us waiting over a half hour for two of the simplest items on the condensed menu. I’d communicated that it was okay & that we’d wait to order from the dinner menu once available but after running to the kitchen for a few moments he insisted it would be out to our table in 1-2 minutes.. it was easily another 5-10 minutes before we received our forgotten/rushed order. Though the waiter provided the dinner menu promptly at 5, as promised, we were well into our meal before the waiter checked in again. We were then, finally, able to ask for a wine menu in order to pair a glass with our half-eaten entrees. We were presented with the desert menu, then our deserts, which was quickly followed by the un-requested check. If it were not for the ambiance, average food and location, this dining experience would have been completely dissatisfying. Overall, our experience was less than desirable with subpar service. Thanks.
Went for New Year’s dinner. Enjoyed the 4-course chef’s menu & the live jazz band. Great experience!
Celebrated New Year’s Eve dinner at the Strand. Great place!
Our third anniversary! We come here for brunch every year!
Great staff and great food! We’ll definitely return.
Nice view and their wine list are great, food quality are okay
Noise level was normal. Didn't understand the rating. Great service, wonderful food, gorgeous sunset view. Accommodated food allergy and time constraint efficiently and professionally.
Great location and the food and cocktails were very good although overpriced. The position of our table was lovely and right by the window but unfortunately the doors were left open all evening and by 8pm on a cold December evening it became unpleasant to stay. We did mention this to our waiter but nothing was done. Had it not been so cold we would have had more cocktails and dessert.
The view was gorgeous. The Bloody Mary was fabulous. The salmon Benedict was a mixed bag. The salmon was good but salty, the eggs were poached well, the spinach didn’t add anything to dish, the Hollandaise was good but there wasn’t enough of it, and the muffin was soggy. The donuts on the other hand were to die for. The waiter was a little too hands off.
Over all not a bad experience but probably not one I would seek out on my own but if someone invites me there I would go.
We had 12 people for brunch...all were pleased with their selections!
Very nice restaurant, great service, ambiance, crowd and food is delicious. We ordered kale salad - good size for sharing, delicious! Hamachi was fresh and tasty. Octopus was perfection. My daughter and I split the fish. The dessert - donuts were warm and freshly baked. We had two drinks. Expensive but good!!! Will definitely come again!
We took our son out for a nice dinner and the Strand House did not disappoint. From the grilled octopus and the boar sausage pizza, to rack of lamb and scallops, the food was delicious. Drinks were top notch also. Slightly disappointed with the attentiveness of our server. Was not up to their usual standard. Big disappointment was the $53 parking ticket that was on my windshield after dinner. I misread the obtuse sign about parking.
Fantastic view of the Pacific and food was delicious. We enjoyed everything. Specialty donut desserts are unique and worth a try! We hope to return again.
Service and food was great. A little pricey for the portions (on the smaller side). We prefer reasonable sized entries if the price is right. The location and views are spectacular so that made up for the price.
The pork chop was undercooked and the grits had no flavor.
Well we went in to watch the last half of the Saturday night football game. We have been there on other football game nights and the manager would put the sound on for the game. However, this night Martin, evening manager said it was NOT aloud, we would have to go somewhere else to watch the game. This is NOT the service and attitude we expected from this upscale restaurant. There were other patrons that wanted to hear the game as well. The restaurant and the waitress lost at least two hundred dollars in business.
I hope to return with better service from the staff
