Food was great, but service was lacking. We had to wait 25 minutes for brunch to arrive, while the table next to us ordered after us and finished their meal before our food arrived. I was a bit surprised that the two extra Waffles I asked for to go with my chicken and waffles cost me $11. Seems disproportionate to my $24 dish. Service was slower and less friendly than desired. Nonetheless the views were great, food was good, and balanced out the not so great parts.

The Strand House was recommended to us by a friend. We live in Michigan but had to come to LA. Not only was the food excellent, the ocean sunset view was spectacular! We’ll return every time we visit!

on the lower balcony, the heat lamps and umbrellas created a crowded space with a four top table. may i suggest relocating the heat lamps when it is not required and ensuring the dining chairs can move comfortably without getting caught on the umbrellas? other than the ambiance, this is a wonderful resturant with a team of experts!

Initially, we were disappointed in the location of our table but having Craig for our server more than made up for it. He’s the perfect combination of a professional, well-trained server while making us feel welcome and giving great tips on the food and drinks.

Beautiful views and gracious service. Went for brunch - the fruit platter was fabulous with perfectly ripe selections and a delicious scoop of icy pitaya or acai goodness. I cannot say enough about the English muffin that came with my omelette. Tasty cocktails ... a great experience.

Having just "found" The Strand a week earlier there was no hesitation on where to bring friends from out of town when they said they wanted to dine by the beach. I am a creature of habit and ordered the "happy waitress" breakfast, again. Everyone else had some form of Eggs Benedict and all plates were cleaned. Of note, the crab version was "the best I've ever eaten" as exclaimed by one consumer. The service was timely and non-invasive. The group arrived prior to me and had already dined on the "mini donuts" which they loved.

This was a terrible experience. We go out to eat every weekend in the South Bay and will never go here again. When we asked for water they said they can not serve tap water and made me buy bottled water. When I asked for bread they said I had to purchase it. My wife and I shared 1 appetizer, 1 salad, and 1 entre. The entre was Branzini. We also had 3 glasses of house Pinot Noir (not 3 each, 3 total). The bill was $152.00!!. Highway robbery. I do not mind paying for a good meal, but at this price it should have been off the charts, and it was not. I do not recommend this restaurant

The Strand House is my top "go-to" restaurant when I visit Manhattan Beach. It has an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and the Manhattan Beach Pier, and bar service and menu items are creative and well-prepared. Since I was only in town less than a day, I requested a specific table location and the staff was courteous, professional, and met my request. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the brussell sprouts was fresh, delicious, and not "overly-prepared" nor highly seasoned the way some restaurants do.

Not cheap, but you shouldn't expect that at a place like this. Wait staff was very pleasant and helpful, bartenders held good conversations, huge wine list. Food was great - lobster, different fish options, fantastic rack of lamb, even the chicken dish. Not the most extensive menu, but good options, and a huge wine list. Obviously the location is great for romantic sunset dining, but the layout was pretty good for groups, too. It's a little loud, but tolerable. We had a group of seven and they took care of us well.

Ambiance was great since it is right besides the beach. The food was ok but what was very disappointing was my scallops entree. They gave me literally 4 small scallops. My gf was even saying if it was an appetizer. Service was ok it took them a bit to get to us to get our orders, then was informed later that one of the appetizers was not available then came back after awhile and said that it is actually available. Oysters came with no small forks or spoons for the dips. It was so loud that we literally have to yell at each other. I mean I know they have a bar at bottom floor but wow for the upstair diners have to yell at each other was pretty bad. And finally the price. For the price I paid I wasn’t very impressed. But then again you are paying for the location. I had been to other high end places like the bazaar and catch and those places I frequent but this place my gf and I agreed never again.

We returned after some time with a cousin visiting from Toronto. The pork belly and grilled octopus appetizers were delicious. We all shared a pizza Margherita, a branzino with Porcini risotto and a grilled chicken. It was all delicious. The wine selection was expansive; we had an Oregon Pinot Noir which turned out excellent. Our server was delightful. Highly recommend dining at The Strand.

The strand has an all around wonderful set-up. From the moment you walk through the fire lit door way you are greeted by wonderful hostesses. They are super attentive! All of the servers were also extremely attentive and made sure to check in on our party throughout the evening. The food was fantastic! I ordered the salmon which was out of this world delicious. It melted in my mouth like warm butter. Others in my party ordered the pork chop and ceviche, both were wonderful. The pork chop was cooked to perfection, we licked the plate. I would recommend you come by and check out the food and stay to watch the sun set. Totally worth it! #ilovethestrandhouse

The restaurant was too noisy for easy conversation, definitely geared for the younger crowd. But then that is who eats out the most. The food was great but the service was a little slow but then the restaurant was very crowded. The wait staff was working very hard, now there fault the service was a bit slow, they had their hands fulol.
