I’m late. And called the restaurant to postpone the reservation. But I received an email which said no-show. It’s not true.
great place, delicious food, my family are agree with me. We would come again.
A beautiful location overlooking Manhattan Beach Pier with delightful food to match. We look forward to returning again (especially for the donuts!) the next time we are visiting Southern California.
Four of us had a birthday dinner for a girlfriend. Got the booth I requested; service, food, vibe all outstanding and hopping on a Monday evening!
Another great meal at The Strand House. Cocktails always on spot. Shrimp cocktail tasty. Everyone's mail course was excellent. Great place to celebrate a birthday.
The view was beautiful, and a good selection of food items for brunch.
This is my third time dining with you since February 2019. Perfect service, wonderful food and drinks. Our servers always took time to answer any questions we might have had about both food and drinks.

Incredible service and delicious food, they even printed custom menus for us as we were celebrating our anniversary. Food came out fast but didn’t feel rushed or sloppy and of course the views upstairs are worth it alone. Wonderful!
I would recommend to friends based on the deliciousness of the food; however, it was quite expensive and the noise level was very, very high (evening). Three of us ordered the lobster pasta dish and one person got the bouillabaisse. It all was very tasty, but the amount compared to the price wasn't equal, in my opinion. I am not from the area, though, so the pricing may be fair compared to other establishments in the same area with same quality.
very busy on this Saturday night and waiter seemed a little too busy. It took a while to get a wine list and then have someone actually take our order. The food was all very good. The Branzino and the pork shop were tasty, but a bit overpriced.
The server was amazing. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the menus reflected that. Overall, the evening was so perfect!
There was a very large table - guessing 16 or more people in the center of the room immediately adjacent to our both. No restaurant charging the prices of this restaurant should book this large a party in the main dining room. That’s what Private dining rooms are for!!!!
Great views. Terrible service. We waited 45 minutes at our table before a waiter came over and we had to ask for that waiter. Food was average and very expensive
Amazing venue for a special family anniversary. Staff is always professional. We have had Autumn assist twice now and she provides a remarkable level of service.

Strand House is consistently excellent. I don't get there very often because it is a distance for me, but when I go I always enjoy it and want to come back. The view is fabulous nnd the food and service are tops.

Food was fabulous - and the service was superb, Francisco was helpful with his recommendations and created a truly enjoyable experience for us. The drink options were unique and refreshing.
The bronzino with trufflles and risotto is worth driving from Europe for. Great wine by the glass list. Desserts are weak which has its benefits. Wonderful ocean view if you are from elsewhere.
Staff has not always been optimal - I mean, it is the beach - but a new to us guy, Mathew, was just great - very personable unlike the tall(er) lunchtime guy and knew the menu, even cared if we were satisfied!

It’s nothing like it used to be. There was nothing special about the food. The mojito’s tasted like pure flavored club soda, the brussel sprouts were like mush and over cooked, the lamb was lack-luster and to top all of that off, we had an extra charge of a $15 drink from the table next to us. All of that for $200 was the biggest waste. We were looking forward to coming here for months but we will never be back!

We felt like we were on vacation at the Strand House. The views are spectacular. Our server Peter and his team were attentive and took care of every request. The food was fantastic... the first course we had the crudo sashimi, oysters and shrimp cocktail... delicious! We all the beet and burrata salad... cleaned our plates. For dinner we had the salmon, branzino, bouillabaisse and the Mediterranean vegetarian... everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Great job Chef Austin!! We are lucky to live in the South Bay and can enjoy The Strand house... thank you to the Zislis Group for creating this dining experience. Cheers!

Awesome waiter! Menu even said happy birthday! We were celebrating my aunt’s 83rd birthday and it was very special. Noise level was quite high but otherwise perfect. The avocado salad was awesome! We added grilled chicken and it was fabulous!
I have been to Strand House over a dozen times. The service was absolutely amazing as usual, but this is the first time that the food has been fair. The stuffed French toast didn’t have much flavor (although the fresh berries were sweet) and the huevos rancheros was OK. I have had the huevos rancheros before and it was great so not sure what happened. The French toast looked like someone barely stuffed it so there wasn’t flavor from the stuffing. I think the kitchen was generally off as the food took longer than normal and all the food didn’t come out at once. Every other time I have written a review for this place it has been five stars. Hopefully next time they are back to the five stars.
My wife and I, plus my 2 daughters had dinner Saturday March 30th at the Strand house. Over all dinner experience was superb, our waiter Greig was Super knowledgeable and professional, that by itself is very rare now at days and makes any dinner experience more enjoyable. We began with the Caviar service, my wife ordered the mix green salad, then Greig recommended the double cut pork shops medium rare which were delicious. My wife the Italian branzino cooked to perfection. One of my daughters had the margarita pizza and my second daughter had the salad. It was a very pleasant evening, the food, drinks, and the service. Thank you Greig.

As management knows ... it was an important dinner... and each guest came from over an hour drive to “meet in the middle” between their respective companies.
We’d asked for a quiet table and were put against the glass - but it was not any quieter than any other table in the main dining area - acoustics were harsh.
Food is ok... definitely nothing worthy of absurd overcharging for miniscule portions you’d find in Beverly Hills ... except BH got over this absurd phase 15 years ago.
(Example ?? Poached crab ... $32 ... yielded two tiny patties the size of a small dumpling... and was fairly flavorless. We literally left one of the two plattirs for the waiter to clear.)
A salad cost 17$... and was just half the portion of any normal side salad at Spagos.
Pricing aside ... the worst of the evening was the Waitstaff. We weee saddled with a loud overbearing gent who fancied himself the life of the party - and soon proved he was coarse and very inexperienced (or worse / just BAD). When he finally go around to taking our main order - he showed surprise at items on the menu !! Explaining “well they just have just added that !!”.
When he returned to take our order after disappearing for 5 minutes he asked “are you ready...?” (we were) and then proceeded to tell us what he thought was outstanding !!! (???). I had to interrupt him go place the order we were ready to order 10 minutes prior.
As management is aware - I had to excise myself to let them know our waiter was hardly around and we needed better service.
Instead of giving us someone else ... we got more bad service from our waiter except now he offered up jokes about how bad his service had been. Water was finally refilled an hour into the meal. And our “quiet table” became adjacent to a late night bridal party of over 30 guests placed at a long table a YARD away from us half way thru...
Dessert was on the house ... topped off with more bad jokes from our waiter about his service.
Go early for a walk on the pier, settle in for some awesome appetizers, great wine selection and the wood fired pizzas are incredible! Absolutely do not leave without catching the beautiful sunset and most importantly always end the evening with the doughnuts!!

Pricey but worth it. We went all out though. Very delicious food that’s beautifully prepared with thoughtfully chosen ingredients. Big venue with multiple floors and stunning ocean views. Service was top notch. Felt like we could take our time and enjoy our meal. Expensive but strong (so worth it) cocktails. Loved the mules
This restaurant has what I consider the best view in the South Bay. Sitting on the wall of glass windows overlooking the ocean is just calming and beautiful at the same time. The food is excellent with large portions but not a lot of sides included. The fact that you have to pay extra for rolls and butter is a little disappointing but I guess I can over look it. It is not the best value as each entree is in the $40-$45 range and appetizers are also pricey. I guess someone has to pay for the location and view.
Saying all of the above however, I have been there many times, and will continue to go back many more.
When you go to the Strand House you are basically there for the view and good food. I think the portions are way to small for the money and therefore the value suffers. For instance, I ordered the scallops. It’s ends up being 4 scallops and 4 pieces of pork belly. So you end up paying scallop prices for pork belly.
I also had the lobster pasta appetizer. It’s was way too small of a portion. It’s a tease for a lot of money.
But the view is super nice and great for out of towners.
