   My only complaint was that we were charged for parking after getting our parking ticket validated! Not cool! Otherwise, the food was excellent, staff was great, ambiance couldn't be better.

   We had the crispy chicken and filet for our entrees, and they both were delicious. The chicken breast had a perfectly crispy skin and tender juicy meat. I would highly recommend it. Also the bar did a fantastic job with cocktails, and the service was just right.

   Our table waiter was very good. Food was another story. New York Strip steak reminded me of a steak at an old Ponderosa steakhouse restaurant. It was very thin and tough - a far cry from medium rare. We ordered coffee with cream, but it came with skim milk instead.

   My parents and I took my daughter to brunch at the Statehouse. The food and Bloody Mary's were fantastic but what stood out the most was the wonderful service we experienced from Luis. He was warm, energetic and very funny (especially with my father!). They accommodated us when we asked for a window seating and everything about this experience was top notch. Looking forward to our next visit - and will absolutely request Luis!

   Not the best experience. Wrote on my reservation that I was celebrating a birthday, and then called in a few days before to let them know. Wanted to make it a surprise for my husband and got nothing. Then after waiting 20 mins to pay the check I asked if he could get a slice of cake to go, as we were celebrating a birthday. Of course I got charged for it as well and had to take it home and celebrate. A let down,to say the least. Don’t think I would go ever go back as it was nothing special.

   The Statehouse sounded like a great place to eat and watch the sunset -(if the clouds went away). Since it was the last day of school for UW there were tables of young people enjoying life. We were warmly welcomed when we checked in. Our server, Sabastien was very attentive & friendly. The cheese curds were delicious ! My 2 skinny hamburgers were great & my plate was Full of very tasty French Fries. My husband's Filet was done just as he likes it. The restaurant is inside the Edgewater Hotel. Overall an enjoyable evening.

    The charcuterie was varied and appropriately sized. The "crispy skin chicken" was moist and flavorful (although it didn't seem to have any skin). The kale salad was yummy.

    Had to wait quite a while for a server to come to our table. We didn't even have any water for at least 10 minutes. Other than that the server did a good job. Loved the bloody mary's! and Eggs benedict!

    Beautiful view over Lake Mendota. The three of us has a pork chop, chicken and salmon. All are overdone. I enjoyed the beet salad. We enjoyed ourselves overlooking Lake Mendota at sunset. It's a beautiful place but food could be improved.

    Service was very slow. The restaurant wasn’t even half full but there appeared to be only one server. The bar was backed up so it took very long to get our drinks, then our food came soon after. That’s a big pet peeve of mine.

    The service was slow. It was a loud restaurant so the waiter had a hard time hearing what we wanted to order. He never came back to fill our water until we asked. My daughter asked for pasta with butter, that’s all it was, and they charged us $25. The Soggy tasteless fries were $13. The beef mini tacos were good but not great. Molten cake was good but Very small for $13. I live in a metropolitan city so I’m used to expensive menus but this restaurants prices did not equate to what you get. Best part of the experience was that the restaurant has big windows that overlook the Lake. They sat us in a booth in the back corner but could see out a little bit. Ask for a table by the windows if you still decide to eat here.

    Beautiful location, clean. Staff were polite, but bar service was very slow, 15 min to get drinks. Had to ask for more water, ask for check. Would have had dessert , but didn't want to wait the extra 30 mins at that point. Interesting food, great appetizers.

    We had a great experience! My steak was perfection!! Cooked just right and great flavor. My companion had the fish fry, which didn’t have much flavor according to him. But everything else was delicious! They even comped our dessert because it was my birthday! I will definitely be coming back.

    Great Lake view. Such a beautiful space that doesn’t seem to have a big following. Went for brunch. Shocking how slow it was. Service was good. Brisket was over cooked and a disappointment. The rest of the food was good, but nothing stood out. Madison has such great restaurant options, so for the money would like to maybe higher quality offering.

    alright so I'm just gonna start this review by saying there's not a lot of restaurant choices in Madison Wisconsin. The pickins were slim so we opted for Statehouse because their cocktails looked yummy. Upon arrival they sat us right away, and you could tell it was one of the nicer establishments. The service was pretty meh but also I understand they seemed pretty busy. Our waiter Louis was very nice, just seemed like they were short staffed or maybe we were under dressed so they didn't pay that much attention to us but whatever we got the beet salad, truffle fries, cheese curds, chicken, pasta, cheese burger and chicken sandwich. the food was pretty good, but honestly the blood orange margarita stole the show. truffle fries were light and so crunchy and delicious, and the beet salad was the perfect mix of sweet, and savory.
