The Spinnaker - Sausalito
Great food excellent service. Wonderful experience
Good food, great location with a view of the bay and San Francisco city lights, easy parking, good valet service and we did not have to wait too long for the table.
Great food, great service, and a beautiful view of the bay.
Overall good experience. Service was VERY slow. Restaurant is looking tired... i.e. Carpets were thread bare. Terrible waste of a fabulous location and view.
Very crowded on Valentine's but the atmosphere was great. Food was mass produced as prefix meal, was good but not great like what we're use to.
We requested and got a special table, thanks to Tom, and our special 10 year anniversary dinner was great. Love this place and eat there on all our special occasions
wonderful experience dining with views across bay at San Francisco.
Male host seemed overtaken by stress, displayed a lack of customer service skills
The views are spectacular and the food is too. It was sunset and San Francisco was glowing.
Celebrating a friend’s birthday
Our meal was very good, however was very disappointed when there was not any complementary dessert offered. I stated when I made the reservations that we were celebrating a birthday. I don’t feel we should have to tell them again!
Great location, valet parking, staff, menu, etc.
Overall great exoerience
We had to wait for the window table but it was worth it. Service was ok but not especially friendly.
We have a great time at Spinnaker! From the moment we checked in to the end of our meal, everything was top notch. The GM was very friendly and make our experience phenomenal. The view was incredible of the city with the moonlight. I would go back again!
the waiter was great. we had the best table in the house. Very good food. First time we came to the Spinnaker was forty two years ago for our high school prom. Still remains the restaurant to beat.
Thanks for all the memories.
Service and ambiance is nice. We were given a window table without requesting one, which was very nice. My husband had the Chilean Sea Bass which was extremely tasty and nicely cooked. I had the Halibut special (on a bed of risotto with a fruit glaze) and unfortunately the fish was very dry and overcooked. So, overall a patchy experience.
Great view! A mainstay restaurant which caters to all. The restaurant has a traditional menu with special that often a newer twist. Service is stellar and the food is consistently good.
Food just ok but overpriced. Waiter was so unfriendly and never once smiled or asked if we’d like refills. I’d recommend for the views only
The Spinnaker is our favorite restaurant. The view of San Francisco is spectacular and the food is delicious. The menu doesn’t change which is great—nice to have something you like stay the same!
As always, an excellent meal with top flight service. This was probably our 5th-6th time at The Spinnaker - we'll definitely return.
Another terrific experience (and we fly up from Los Angeles! Several of the new/updated items on the menu (i.e. the seared scallops) were OUTSTANDING - the crab and shrimp club sandwich was also a hit and the tri-chocolate torte was out of this world - So appreciated the beautiful view table and Alene made everyone feel welcome - many, many thanks for you all!
I've been in Marin more than half a century, so the Spinnaker is a well known and predictable restaurant. The views are extraordinary, that's an understatement. We had an efficient and attentive staff. The hostess gave the two of us a superb corner table. My friend and I had not seen each other for years and there was no attempt to push us along or interfere with our vivacious gossip session. My lunch was good but not extraordinary and the crab cakes I ordered did not cause me to swoon in delight, but were OK. All in all, though, an excellent experience.
The food was excellent, the service was efficient and it was quiet - always important to us!
Our party of 4 had reservations at 5:15 & table was waiting for with spectacular views of the harbor at sunset! Great dinner & wine. Would highly recommend this place. Easy parking with valet & handicap accessible.
Superb location, easy and ample parking, fine food . the service is friendly and enthusiastic, all in all,
a very pleasant experience.
We went for a birthday lunch. Can’t beat the view, service was great, but the food lacked a little pizazz. But honestly, when you have the luxury of taking the day to celebrate a birthday in such a fantastic area, it’s all good!
The absolute best view of the San Francisco Bay, the City and Marin. Large menu is basic but good.
Great spot, perched out over San Francisco Bay. Easy parking, attractive interior. Lot of menu choices, great food - I had the bouillabaisse and my wife had the scallops. Have not been there in a while and almost forgot how wonderful it is. We'll be back a lot sooner next time. Great spot for date, anniversaries, birthdays - taking friends. A great restaurant on every level.
Brought guests from Vancouver, Canada and there was such a beautiful sunset and evening, night twinkling sky. I tried the mixed seafood dish for the first time and so did one guest. It was such a nice variety of seafood and very flavorful. The other guest had the Chilean bass I usually order. We all enjoyed our entrees, the clam chowder soup and surprised ourselves by completely finishing the 3 desserts we shared: Tiramisu, Chocolate Cream Puff and apple pie! Always my favorite restaurant with ambiance, great service and food!
Loooove the restaurant!
The Spinnaker is our go to place for celebratory dinners. It has a great location on the water, the service is great, valet parking is free, and the food is good. It is not a cheap date, but given the location and service it is reasonable as Marin restaurants go. The food varies from ok to great. Oddly for a seafood kind of place, it has a consistently great grilled steak. On our last visit my wife's Chilean sea bass was a bit undercooked, but my crab cakes were fine. We (and our friends) keep going back so that says a lot.
This was a very special event -- grandchildren celebrating their grandma's 90th birthday. This "heads up" was stated in my Open Table reservation -- and was obviously conveyed to the Spinnaker staff/servers because they were "over the top" in making our small family dining experience there magical and memorable in their welcoming ways of attending to everyone's wishes and needs -- and delivering "out of this world" tasty and satisfying varieties of food servings. Everyone (including our two typically laid back teenaged grandchildren) in our family gave raving and unconditional expressions of "wows" and "what an awesome event" on our way home -- that clearly was a memorable tribute to the Spinnaker's food, ambiance and staff our family will always talk about in the future. Great job -- all.
We did not get the table we requested with our reservation which was made many weeks in advance. The service was not nearly as good as it use to be, same can be said for the food. The bread is served cold. The Brie from the appetizer is very small for the price, again served with cold bread and presentation is subpar. Nothing about the food (steak, swordfish, salmon, prawns) we ordered warranted the price tag as they nothing to rave about. The waitstaff pushed a cart back and forth next to our table that did not fit the walkway and people from our group had to scoot their seat numerous times. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be coming back. We have great memories of taking our family there since they were little, they are adults now but will be going elsewhere moving forward.
We made reservations for 4 for a late lunch on a Saturday, used the valet and self parking (easy--both super close) and were seated promptly and had an absolutely beautiful view (of course--). Food was delicious, bread served quickly as well as drinks. Really enjoyed the food--but we had unadventurous stuff like petrale sole macadamian nut-crusted (delicious) and fish and chips (delicious). Very happy....and I'm kinda hard to please!
we took our son their for his birthday and our table was the best on in the entire restaurant. We had views of the bay.
The food is very good but the view is spectacular. There are few better views of San Francisco from anywhere and Sausalito is there to explore.
This is one of my top favorite Marin Restaurants. Been here many times - with friends - and clients. Went on 1-17-20 with two clients. Generally, the food experience is fabulous. I was quite disappointed yesterday. The [one of the specials of the day] Maui-Maui was good although the bed of risotto it was sitting on, with shrimp and/or crab was very over-cooked and tasted awful. I didn't want to make a fuss with waiter (Robert W) who was excellent, plus it was a nice social time with clients-friends. Generally, the best food there are the salads. I haven't had really good experiences with cooked meals. I highly recommend the ceasar shrimp salad. Fabulous.
The setting of the Spinnaker restaurant is beautiful, both inside and outside. There are spectacular views of the Bay, of San Francisco and the Bay Bridge. The food is very mediocre, and some of it is downright not good. So order something simple, and you'll probably be pleased with the meal.
