Our server Jorge did a wonderful job: cheerful, solicitous and efficient. And with a good sense of humor as well!
Would also like to note Mohammed who has served us in the past and has always been polite, attentive and friendly.
Overall, really appreciated the care taken to help us celebrate my niece's graduation from High School.
This place is nothing short of amazing! The service was absolutely phenomenal. I went home thinking about the entire ambiance. Thank you!
It was a birthday dinner and it was perfect setting for the occasion.
What a great find! I googled “best carrot cake in DC” because we were celebrating my son’s girlfriend’s birthday and she loves carrot cake. Boy were we in for a treat! Not only the best carrot cake ever, but the food was amazing and our server Anton was extremely helpful with the menu and a delight to chat with! Will most certainly return!
Birthday, its so expensive.
Plus the ploy of offering “3” appetizers ensures One had to pay more for the 4th...
Wonderful menu, great service. Always a favorite. Hoping to visit again soon.
Amazing menu, service and quality from start to finish.
Best dim sum anywhere!!! Imaginative, tasty and lovely to look at and eat.
my one word for this restaurant is: civilized. You system wants me to write more. I thought in this case, less was more.
We thoroughly enjoyed The Source. The entire staff was extremely attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. Chef Russell's creations were outstanding!! It was our anniversary and no detail was left undone. We highly recommend that if you get the chance to visit DC that you do not pass up the opportunity to dine at this outstanding establishment.
Went back after several years during which we never considered the menu interesting because the current menu seemed to have changed for the better with a new head chef. We loved what we saw now on the menu. Our evening was great and we felt the restaurant was as good as when it opened more than 10 years ago. The food was delicious, including starters of a platter of mixed sushi and sashimi and a scallion vegetable pancake which was like a thin crusted pizza only with an asian flair. As mains, we had a halibut and chicken, both done with Asian flavors and served with fried rice and vegetables. Each dish had a distinct asian flavor and was delicious. Our waiter was excellent, being attentive but not interrupting our dinner or conversation with the ubiquitous question of "is everything fine"?
It was wonderful - the service is outstanding - Jorge is the most attentive, fantastic server & Russell's food is outstanding!
Food was outstanding. Service excellent and not too loud which is usually the case. Will definitely return!
Fantastic evening! Thank you for making this so special.
One of the best !
The Impossible Potsticker are a must try!!
This is my second time going there for brunch. The first time I went with friends to
Celebrate a birthday and we received excellent service. I was so impressed I asked my husband to take me there for Mother’s Day. We were both dissapointed with our server. She seemed stressed and hurried.
The reason why I choose restaurants like the source on special occasion is because I know
I’m going to receive excellent service. This will make me apprehensive about going there on special occasions.
We ordered appetizers; tiger shrimp & carrot dumplings (excellent with a spicy chili oil), crispy duck (delicious) and potstickers (lovely) when THE Wolfgang Puck walks up to the table and greets us. He talked for awhile about the restaurant and gave us some tips on dinner. I had the wok-fried whole bronzing and it was amazing. I would eat anything fried in a wok, but this from presentation, aroma and taste was completely outstanding. My friends Amish chicken was bland (I told him it would be, but had to have it). Another got the scallops and they were perfect (he didn’t share, but continued to tell us how wonderful they were...his last dinner invitation 😬).
Outstanding service, food and presentation is this restaurant. Don’t let the address fool you definitely a must try
Celebrated our Anniversary and had a great meal! The attention to detail by the staff made it special. The menus said “Happy Anniversary!!!” at the top & on our dessert plate. Service was attentive and kind.
My buddy from college days was in town recently and I thought what better place to meet for dinner than The Source - always reliable, and my favorite DC restaurant. We both had a terrific time catching up over a delicious meal. We were greeted warmly and started off the evening with delicious, light scallion buns. Our waiter, Juan, was very helpful pointing out some treats from the new menu. Appetizers of Suckling Pig and Impossible Dumplings tasted great and were beautifully presented. For main courses, my friend enjoyed his Chirashi Bowl, and I was very impressed with my Halibut that is poached in fragrant chili oil and comes with crab fried rice and spring vegetables.
This is a wonderful restaurant with great people who work as a tight team. Juan, our waiter, provided friendly service and timed the meal perfectly. Between courses, Evan Moore, the Source's very personable General Manager, stopped by to introduce himself since this was my first visit since he took on his new role. Chef Russell Smith also visited our table to say hello and see how we enjoyed our meal. They both made us feel right at home.
We ended our evening with a light dessert and cappuccino. All in all, great dining in a wonderful light-filled environment that provides views of the local area. The food and the service are excellent and highly recommended.
It was a most excellent location for a business lunch
Had a great meal at The Source. Each dish was creative and delicious. The cocktails and wine were great as well. Make a reservation if you’re in the area.
Seafood, Asian, Spice, FLAVOR! All mixed together makes for a phenomenal evening. There is meat on the menu, but we were more in the mood for seafood which was available in abundance. One of our group is vegetarian and the waiter went out of his way to point out vegetarian dishes and those which could be made vegetarian. Food is somewhat spicy - though I am certain they would tone it down if requested. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and appropriately attentive. My only regret is I could only eat one appetizer, main and dessert! Everything merited a taste! We will be back for sure.
Food is amazing, my server Alvaro is so good, however please consider the front desk person.. his attitude really made me felt angry
Jorge is the best — the food is of course excellent but we come back for Jorge!
We were from out of town and so excited to be able to eat there. Our servers and hosts were warm and genuine. The wait staff were very helpful with explaining the menu. They welcomed my questions on foods I was not familiar with and encouraged me to try something new which I rarely do. The menu had the impossible meat I'd heard about, but never tried. I'm so glad it was in an entree. I'm trying to gradually cut back on meat consumption and this was a wonderful introduction. Thank you also for seating us with blue jeans and running shoes. We had just finished a day on the mall of museums, were starving, exhausted, and dreaded having to return to our hotel to only have to get all dressed up. We appreciate the staff seating us as we were. We definitely recommend the restaurant.
Saturday dim sum was outstanding. There were 5 of us and we tried 16 different items and Solitaires..plenty and ea h dish was e ctional. The best was the duck bro, then the lobster roll and fried rice.
Great Saturday brunch. Pick 8 of 15 dim sum/dumplings/fried rice/dan dan noodles, etc. Exceptional saucing and professionally served. A bottle of Proseco and you're set for the day.
Everything was great but the food was put down by a runner and then the waiter came late every time and had to be prompted for the explanation of sauces etc.
The scallion buns and dinners we had were simply perfect! Portions were quite large-leaving is leftover food.
It was, as ever, a fantastic experience, from the appetizers & entrees to the specials and desserts. And the staff is absolutely top flight; friendly, knowledgable, efficient and

Alvaro was The Best! He made the experience even better than we are used to. Thanks!
Most dishes were great to share. Very good Asian-fusion cuisine.
The food was great and I had the best service. Everyone was very attentive and accommodating. I will definitely go back.
I was disappointed. We got to the restaurant early because we had tickets to a concert starting at 7:30. The place was not very busy when we got there except for a reception on the first floor. After having to literally squeeze my way through a bunch of people we were seated upstairs where it was not very busy. The service was good until the restaurant started getting busy and it then went downhill. Had to get up and find our waiter to get our check to leave.
The food....the dumpling appetizers were very soggy. I ordered the Branzino and when the waiter set it down it was beautiful but before I could get a word out he started pouring a sauce all over it and drowned the fish in a sticky, sweet overpowering sauce that was awful. The meal came with a side of asparagus and peas that were in a bowl with another sweet teriyaki type sauce that left no hint of the flavor of the vegetables. I barely ate my food and my bill with tip was over $100. Would not go back.
We went for our anniversary. We had a great time, the staff was very friendly, and the food was excellent. We were not expecting anything but when the end of the evening was
approaching we had gotten a small anniversary dessert. It was unexpected and a wonderful surprise.
I haven't been in awhile and I was really excited that the food was as good if not better than I remembered. 3 of us split the 8-plate dim sum tasting menu and it was delicious!
The food and service were outstanding. We were celebrating an anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to make our evening a special.
Lunch was very good but we miss the former lunch menu and the “amuse Bouches” which the chef used to serve to lunch diners , including the tuna tartar cones and the green Beans with pecans . And the chocolate chip cookies weren’t the usual — still warm and gushing over with chocolate chunks —Also service was a bit slower than usual —- busy day I guess —
