A local gem. I'd try anything on the menu on any given day. The whole fried fish of the day always leaves me happy.

We went of a rare date night. It was a very disappointing night. From the beginning, our server seemed untrained. The surprise of a mariachi band was nice though.
When you think Latin food, you think bright, lively flavours - that turned out only to be true of 1/5 dishes. The ceviche was delicious. The octopus was carpaccio style, but completely tasteless. As were the pork tacos, even after squeezing the dry lime all over them. When the owner (?) asked for feedback on the food, he seemed totally unconcerned at our disappointment. We actually left without dessert, and went to another neighbourhood restaurmat to order two other ( fantastic) dishes to try and salvage the bad taste in our mouths. We will not be going back.

Group of six went there on a recent Saturday night pre-GCTC. We were all impressed with the food, be it small or large plates. Will definitely return.

it was our first time at the Soca. I was hoping to have Paella, unfortunately, Paella is only for special occasions. Didn't matter because we ended up trying other dishes that were different, very good tasting. We will be going back to order the other dishes that we didn't have.

Really good place for delicious tapas Very cozy vibe. Service is average. The staff seemed shy and reserved.

I went there for the Thursday oyster day for the first time. Upon seeing the bill, it wasn’t what I expected. No one has mentioned, prior to me ordering the special, that there’s a disclaimer...the oyster goes up in price every 15 mins. They only showed me the paper (disclaimer) after I have already paid. Hope this doesn’t happen to other customers.

If you haven’t been to this place, it is still worth a try. Food is delicious!

The ceviche is very disappointing. Every time we go, the plate and the serving get smaller and smaller and for the price its not worth it. It used to be one of my favourite dishes...

The tapas are just delicious bites of food... tasty, nicely prepared. The grilled calamari with homemade yogurt are fantastic -- such a welcome alternative to the breaded and fried option that is so common. The Cochinita pork tacos are packed with flavour. It was my second time to Soca and I will definitely be back!

Every time I have been to Soca Kitchen it has been a great experience. The food is exceptional. The service is also excellent, they don't rush you along. I am looing forward to the next excuse to go back.

We loved Soca and will be back to try the famed cauliflower steak. I've spent a lot of time in South America but that was the best Pisco Sour I've ever had. Attentive service, honest recommendations....the room needs a little bit of sound baffling in my opinion as it was hard to hear my husband but hey, everyone was having a good time.

Delicious food and gorgeous spot, I just always wish the kitchen would stay open later! Makes you feel like you have to leave instead of lingering over more drinks and good conversation. Regardless, still one of my favorite spots, and the food, drinks, and service are always top notch.

Our experience at The Soca Kitchen was excellent! The service was friendly and efficient and the food was incredible. The flavour combinations were amazing, especially the orange braised pork tacos. Everyone in our party agreed that they were the best tacos we've ever eaten! We can't wait to go back.

It was nothing out of the ordinary, the food wasn't great. The oysters were not tasty at all, it was the first time ever I don't finish the oysters. I wouldn't go again, I was dissapointed and it was definitely over priced for what it is.

Had a great time. The owners take the time to visite you. The only thing is, the food came out really quickly. In some sense it could be a good thing but with tapas I thought it would be more progressive and have time between plats. All in all, definitely recommend.

Overall great first experience. Tacos were amazing. Drinks were a little low on the alcohol factor. Oysters were fresh . Five ceviche was a little to lemony for my taste and tart. But overall quite pleased. Will go back.

Last Sunday, we three had a most enjoyable evening meal at the Soca Kitchen: Excellent flavourful, healthy food, agreeably served. Each plate had an appealing presentation, making me think- this is "haute cuisine". We started with the impressive sea food tower, complete with a full lobster, that was a pleasure to deconstruct. We followed with several other specialty dishes, all served with the chef's touch: sliced octopus, sliced plantain, beefsteak strips, each with remarkable scrumptious toppings or sauces-; and a delicious "pan tomaco". We would also recommend not leaving without a desert. We had the very tasty cinnamon cooked pineapple and what they subtitled as a cheesecake, but which I would call a perfect "parfait". I highly recommend the Soca Kitchen as an excellent place to bring special guests on a special night out.

We were very pleased with the dinner: a very nice gin-lime cocktail, assortment of tapas we shared, included an excellent set of oysters, charcuterie for two, whole beet salad, octopus, beef strips. Interesting pineapple strips for dessert. Highly recommended, reasonably priced.

A tad pricy, however, worth every penny. The food was outstanding, specifically the tacos and the sourdough bread combinations. The cocktails are so different and delicious too! Will definitely be returning.

We felt we were pressured to order our food and leave the table as quickly as possible. Our server didn’t explain the menu but suggested we should order our main meal at the same time as our charcuterie dish for two. Our mains were then delivered to our table and we were barely 1/2 way through the appetizer. The tapas should be delivered one dish at a time, not when you are eating the appetizer and not when there isn’t enough room on the table. The food was good but not enjoyable, because we were rushed. We wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for that reason.

Always a good time. Food on point (gotta bring back that Dirty Rice dish though) and the tamarind Mojito to die for.
My girlfriend and me celebrated valentines a day early and were surprised that it wasn't busy at all but it was nice cause we got basically the whole restaurant to ourselves.
We enjoyed the tacos, piqullo peppers, shortrib steak, grilled calamari, and the totistos.
Highly recommend if you enjoy a sharing plate type experiences.

Incredible dinner at The Soca Kitchen! Loved how they pay with sweet and salty in their tapas! I had the calamari, beets, crispy plantain and bread with tomato and everything was outstanding! Next time I will try the charcuterie.

I was super excited to try the Soca kitchen. Some of the food we had (the pan guerilla, the beet salad) was super delicious. I found the calamar and tacos to be just good. The churro dessert was a huge let down, and extremely overpriced. An unfortunate way to end the meal. We often waited a long time with empty glasses, waiting for drink orders to be taken and drinks to be brought. The restaurant is in a lovely old building. Unfortunately, this means poor insulation. We sat upstairs and would freeze for 6 minutes, and then feel like we were in a sauna for 6 minutes alternating. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning as it was slightly unpleasant. Overall, I would say that although some of the food was really great, and the service was super friendly and kind, we were a little disappointed.

We were looking for something different from the usual. When we arrived and began reviewing the menu, we then decided to let our server be our guide. Gustav was very helpful, we let him lead our adventure. There were 4 of us and he chose a great selection of sharing plates with lots of variety and the $ amount at the end of the evening we felt was reasonable.

Je regrette que la carte n'était pas bilingue.
