Terrible experience. The waiter forgot one of the starters then later forgot a main and all of the sides. The manager apologized and the meal was free but the service was overall awful. The meals that did come were not correct or cold.
The filet was very good, kale salad is worth ordering again. The duck confit was dry, flavor was off, the duck breast was ok, could have used a little more time under the broiler to crisp the skin. Bread was average. The location is great, ambience is nice. Needs a little more inspiration in the kitchen.
Waited 90 min for our food and spoke to the manager to see if our food was ready and he came back and said the food wasn't even put through to the kitchen. He said he enter our order himself and that he was sorry. Waited another 30 min and food still wasn't at our table. We got up and left. 2 more tables after us left as well. We heard the manager apologizing to many people while we were there.

We have been coming to Snowmass for a long time, and a few years back, added Snowmass Kitchen to our dinner rotation. It's always been a good finer dining choice for Snowmass. This year something was way off. The waitstaff seemed to have little or no experience waiting tables, the cadence of the entire staff (hostess, bus boys, bartender, waitstaff) was off, and the Short Rib was so tough if was like cutting through a log. Additionally the calamari looked like french fries and my seafood loving husband barely touched it. I sincerely hope this was just an off night, since it is great to have a nicer place off the mall in Snowmass.

This was, by far, the worst dinner experience I’ve ever had. To the length of time it took to get our food/drinks, to the TERRIBLE food, and then the automatic 18% gratuity to top it off. I would never recommend this place!
The wait staff was kind and attentive but the food took almost 90” and was fair. They kept apologizing and bringing more drinks and offering more bread. The reason for the wait is that there was a lot of room service. This restaurant needs a good consultant!
Worst experience ever. Service was slow throughout. It took an hour and a half for our food to be served. And then the food was cold. Never go there. I will never return.
The only thing they did well was nit charge us! It's not even Snowmass Kirchen anymore AND NOT A STEAKHOUSE. They've "rebranded" to be like every other restaurant on the planet that serves a filet, grilled salmon and a Caesar salad. They couldn't make a martini even after 3 tries, they served Italian bottled dressing on the Caesar and the filets were grey. It was a disaster! We never would have gone if they had properly described it in Open Table.
Terrible. The staff were not well trained. The restaurant did not have a proper wine list. The prices were high. The chef was unable to produce a medium rare steak. The manager had no idea how to deal with their failure and blamed the client for not recognizing what a properly prepared steak looked like. When asked for dressing or mustard etc failed to return in time to use those requested dressings. They did not offer any kind of reduction for their errors. It took us a very long time to complete our dining. 2 of the 4 of us had lost their appetite by the time the salads arrived. I could go on.
only two servers for Valentines Day, we were told that one server had quit that day and were short staffed. It was quite obvious that the two remaining waiters were overwhelmed.
I had the swordfish with a lettuce wedge. Great selection.
Service was excellent.
This is a serviceable restaurant for the hotel but nothing more. Although the wait staff wanted to provide good service they just don't seem trained in exactly how to accomplish that. There are plenty of servers just not working yet quite as a team. The menu is very pricey - both food and drink - so you really expect GREAT food which sadly was not the case here.
Service was virtually inexistent. The drink order took forever. The food, took even longer. When the food did arrive, the steak arrived alone on the plate. The wine I ordered 15 min ago still didn't show up. The side dish finally arrived about 5 min after the wine. It wasn't until 1 hour into dinner I had my complete order. Also of note, there was no Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot, by the glass, available. The food was good, but poor service ruined the experience.
NYE prix fixe. Total ripoff. The food was average at best. The staff was not trained on how to provide service. We got water right away, then waited 15 minutes watching several of the staff bustle around ignoring us(not their table). We thought maybe everyone thought we were someone else's table. I finally flagged somebody down and asked if we could see a waiter, order drinks, get things started. Three of our party ordered Filet, the waitress never asked how we wanted it prepared. I thought maybe they were fillet tips or something but no they were steaks and they all came out differently. Even getting the bill was a chore. I had to flag somebody down again. She brought the bill I put my credit card up and we watched her clean glasses and clear tables for about 10 minutes before we finally flagged her down again to run the card. I don't think they were willfully providing bad service I just think they didn't know what they were supposed to do. There was also a little bit of a language barrier. When I made the reservation I was told it was a New Year's eve buffet but it ended up being prix fixe, sort of the opposite of a buffet. The fancy lunches we had at Gwyn's High alpine were half as expensive and ten times better.
We ate there for News Year Eve. Food was outstanding.
We were disappointed in the amount of food we received with our orders. I ordered the shrimp & crab meat. Four pieces of average size shrimp with a sliver of crab meat & nothing else to go along with it for $34. Needless to say I was hungry when I left. My husband ordered the free range chicken (expecting a hardy meal) and it was skimpy. Way over priced for the amount of food. The service was great and we enjoyed our ahi tuna appetizer, but the food is was over priced.
Our first waiter did not give us ample time to peruse the drink menu. He kept standing just a few feet away and made us feel rushed to decide. Eventually he just left and another waiter showed up with no introduction. When we started to order he had to stop us so he could get a pen. When he came back just 5 seconds later, he had gotten our order wrong. Then our wine came BEFORE our aperitifs. My side order was forgotten, then two of them came together. Add screaming kids and it was not an enjoyable evening. Snowmass regularly hires young, foreigners as wait staff but this group was very poorly trained. We will find a different place next year.
Disappointing overall. Limited menu, slow service (especially to start with) despite being virtually empty.
I'd say a restaurant that doesn't have to try very had due to location...so it didn't try very hard!
Unless you stick with a simple burger, you will be disappointed. The ahi tuna tasted like it can out of a can. The mussels were not edible. Huge dissappointment for a New Years Eve meal... Stay away
Great New Years tasting menu. Highly recommend the Elk. Service from waiter was outstanding. We knew Amy from food and bev. Great service all around! They even verify that cuts were cooked correctly.
We went twice, once at the restaurant downstairs and another at the lounge. 1 hour to be served at the main restaurant and food was disappointing.
Hamburger at the lounge was very good though.
All of our group was able to find items on the menu that really hit the spot. Great service. Neat drink menu. Will visit this restaraunt again.

Dinner menu not as represented online- completely different including much higher prices, no pasta, no pizza. Waiter admitted discrepancies and apologized but offered no compensation. Bottom line: over priced; mediocre food for dinner. Lunch spot only!
The menu for new years eve wasnt that good, and it took too long to bring all of my 5 courses, but they have a good service overall
Restaurant had already run out of two items by our 7pm reservation. All of the other items we ordered (filet, chicken, potatoes, soup) all tasted bland, like not a grain of salt or pepper was used.
Had a nice Christmas Eve dinner at the Snowmass Kitchen. Started with Caesar salads that were very nicely prepared and very tasty. Had small spoons with capers, bacon, onion egg and pickled anchovies that you could add to the salad. Was unable to get the salty anchovies instead of pickled.
The meatloaf and the ribeye were excellent. Cooked perfectly great flavor. Unfortunately the asparagus came out cold but they were promptly replaced.
The blackberry cosmo was excellent and the wine was very nice. I might suggest for a high end restaurant they use nicer wine glasses. Service was very good; nice and attentive.
We are summer residents and decided to try the Snowmass Kitchen in spite of mixed reviews. We were pleasantly quite satisfied with both the food and service which were the focal points of the negative reviews. We will go back.
Great alternative to on mountain lunch. GF free friendly. Also easy and yummy for dinner with the kids. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Popped in to the Snowmass Kitchen at the last minute for a quick bite. Ordered the burger and was really impressed! One of the best burgers that I have had in months.
Decent food in cosy set up. Diverse menu. Unfortunately, quite a few (noisy) families with children.
Our waitress never looked our way once we ordered our food. We couldn't order more wine with dinner and the manager had to come to our table and ask us what we each had so he could split the bill. It was obvious that the waitress was busy with another party in a private room because she walked back and forth near our table. The food was good, but overshadowed by the poor service and I resent the 18% gratuity tacked on for our table of eight.
There were 7 of us for dinner. We had a very nice table in a corner of the room with great ambiance and plenty of space. We were able to converse with everyone at our table without a problem. The food was good, the service was good although the food was a bit slow in arriving. We will go back to this restaurant.
Food was not great. Doughy pizza , long wait. After asking to move from a table near the front door - was moved to a table near the kitchen. Prices were 5star but food and ambiance and service was 2 at best.
I have dined here for lunch and dinner. Lunch has been fine. I had dinner there twice last Feb ski trip. First experience was great so I dined there a second time sane week. I ordered the same chicken dish. It was so salty that it was not eatable. I dined at this restaurant again this week with my family. My husband and I both had the Italian Wedding Soup. It was so salty that neither of us could drink it. My main course was also very salty - both the chicken and the mushroom sauce. Told the wait staff. They didn't act surprised and the chef didn't come out to tell us they tasted the food and whether they agreed or disagreed with us. I think the chef has a salty palate or is not supervising his cooks. I don't recommend this restaurant
The restaurant has no idea what it is doing. Staff tries hard, but it feels like no one told them how a restaurant runs.
Unfortunately the food was cold. The "rechauds" did not work properly.
Creme Brulee was out at 7.00 pm. Quality of the food was good. Used plates
were not removed from the table quick enough and cutlery was not replaced.
We had to steel it from another table. Seats at the window are quite cold, we had to put on a coat.
