Offered a high top table despite a reservation. Blaring Christmas music on December 2nd, second only to blaring commentary from a GA football game. Menus sticky, table sticky...we walked out into a rainy street rather than stay. Lucky us.
I have been to the Shrimp Factory once before for dinner and twice for lunch and it has never disappointed. This time the food was even above the others. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and everything else was just as great. It is definitely my go to restaurant on River Street.
Very nice time dining here. Calamari was great. Fried Green Tomatoes nothing to right home about, but fine. Food was good. Our waitress was excellent.
We went to the shrimp factory for Thanksgiving. We are from Virginia and we felt so fortunate to find a restaurant that was open and that was serving the traditional meal. It was delicious food. The waiter did an outstanding job. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
Our assigned waiter did a good job until the food was served. Afterwhich, he was not to be found. This was such a disappointment experience for me and my family to fly over 2,000 miles to a restaurant that was highly recommend. The occasion was sadly my 62rd birthday celebration.

We were in town for the weekend and had dinner on Saturday night at the Shrimp Factory. We were seated quickly and had a wonderful server. She was pleasant and friendly. The salmon was well cooked and the shrimp were large and well prepared. We will definitely return when back in Savannah.
Server was great and the food was very good. We had 2 appetizers, two entrees and an adult beverage.
I eat fried shrimp frequently and their fried shrimp were very good. The stuffed shrimp were good as well. The calamari was on point as well.
I wish the crab and shrimp dip would have been more creamy and cheesy instead of so much spinach, it was still tasty. It was good on the bread they served the table. I think I like that better than the fried tortilla chips it was served with.
I was very disappointed with the shrimp and grits. There was not any flavor and the grits were gummy.
I was also disappointed with the Chatham Artillery Punch.
Food was fantastic. The key lime pie is absolutely amazing. The server was really nice and helpful. Let my fiance and I sample some of the local beer choices to pick one. It's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Would definitely recommend
Super touristy. Slimy salad. Must have been made in bulk ahead of time. The service was good, but the drinks & food were Applebees quality or lower. Would not recommend.
Great food, service and ambience. Historic building and lots to to do within walking distance from the restaurant.
The Fried shrimp was delicious. Fish Tacos were also very good. Would definitely go back when I am in the area
We went there for scallops. After we ordered dinner and drinks we were told no scallops were available. Employees should know what’s available before diners order. We felt we couldn’t leave because we already had our drinks and bread. My friend asked the waitress for a specific drink she said I don’t know what that is I can’t make that! In the age of smart phones all she had to do is look it up. All the ingredients were on the web. Not very accommodating. My shrimp au grautin was very chewy. The shrimp was over cooked and rubbery. My side of broccoli was cold! All in all not a very good experience! I would not recommend going here!
Waitress asked me for my ID & refused to bring my wine until I produced it. My youngest child is older then she is. What a joke. Dinner was less then ordinary served by the same waitress who chose to wear her long blonde hair in a braid down the front of her chest! Yes, freely flowing over the food that she served! THIS health code violation didn’t seem to bother her, the manager, or anyone else at the restaurant but they found it necessary to ask 60 & 80 yr old people for their ID’ds! My suggestion, go somewhere else! Start to finish, not worth it!
Suggested by hotel concierge , very disappointed. Blacked grouper was dry. Stuffed shrimp with deviled crap was fair. Oysters on half shell were not available but Rockefeller and fried oysters were available... ? Gotta wonder...
Fun vibe, good seafood, very slow service
Fried green tomatoes were super, coconut shrimp good, pine bark stew good, stuffed flounder kind of yucky. Fish dried out, stuffing mushy. Service was friendly but inattentive. Okay place to eat but nothing to seek out.
It was very good!
We went in for a 245 lunch so it was by no means busy or slammed but it still took 20 minutes for drinks and overall lunch took 1.5-2 hours. Though waiter was nice, Service was extremely slow, took kitchen forever to get food out and Atleast 10-15 min for even melted butter (it’s a seafood restaurant). Food was overall good though.
Not just shrimp! Nice menu, great service. We enjoyed the guitar playing in the background.
Great menu and recommend to anyone who wants a great meal
The food was mediocre at best. The service was just below average. It was very noisy. The music was loud and the bar patrons were yelling and singing. The shrimp were not deveined in the dish we ordered, some people don’t mind this but if you do keep it in mind. The first glass of wine we ordered was served in a dirty glass.
The waitress seemed overworked and overwhelmed. The bar service was slow. Some drinks were served in plastic cups, some were served in glasses. The calamari was over-breaded. The grits were stiff and barely warm. They were so dry that I requested more gravy (shrimp and grits). By the time I received it, my food was too cold to eat.
The shrimp were small and unimpressive given the name of the restaurant. Honestly, I spent 4 days in Savannah and this was the only disappointing meal I had.
My husband and I often stop in a the bar for drinks and have a wonderful time but this time we brought our son for dinner and the service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and when the food finally got there it was less than impressive. This was terribly disappointing because we have been here so many times and had great food and a great experience. I truly hope this night was just a one off.
We went to The Shrimp Factory because of the ratings but we were very disappointed. The food was mediocre, the service was ok at best. We sat next to the window which could have been nice as the view was of the river front; however, the window was so dirty - inside and out, that it made me nauseated to look out of it.
Food was ok. I had the fried flounder plate. It wasn't very big and the breading fell off. Atmosphere is really cool and I loved the smell of the building.
Service was incredibly slow. Received a coupon from the restaurant when we arrived for a free shrimp cocktail, handed in the coupon, never received the shrimp cocktail. We did not make a fuss about this as we did not really need the shrimp cocktail but why bother passing out the coupon? Saw this happen to other customers as well. Wouldn’t go back to the shrimp factory.
Service was slow and needs improvement. Manager took action to correct the problem
Pretty much the worst. Menu looks great and was excited to try the items, but unfortunately, everything from entering to leaving the restaurant was horrible. The only silver lining was the caesar salad, it was killer. The dressing was out of this world.
We went to The Shrimp Factory for our anniversary dinner. My husband ate the fried seafood platter and was very satisfied by the different options on the platter, as well as the taste and quantity. I'm not a seafood eater, so I ate Cajun chicken pasta. It was delicious, but not as spicy as I expected. We were seated at a window table with a water view. Our server was attentive but not pushy, and the value was good. Great evening!
Very disappointed. Won’t be going to this restaurant again.
Shrimp, crab, artichoke and spinach dip was a delicious (albeit decadent) appetizer
Food and atmosphere was good. Service could use some improvement but believe it was just the server we had.
Enjoyable, pleasant server, we arrived early seated right away,
Server Trish was fantastic. I had the blackened grouper florentine which was quite tasty. The interior of the place is a bit dark and dated but the food was good as was the service.
Food was good , service was great, steak was a bit over cooked but overall pretty good
The manager initially gave us a hard time about seating our large party in nearby tables despite our reservations. Later when we asked our waiter if he could bring out our three year old's grilled cheese sandwich kid's meal with the appetizers or as soon as possible he told us he could not accommodate that. Our meals took an hour and a half to come and we could tell they'd been sitting under the lamp for some time. Our three year old fell asleep without his dinner. The bill came with an underserved 20% tip already added.
We had a great dinner during our stay in Savannah. Our server, Anna, was great and provided great service.
The service was great. I took my girlfriend for a birthday dinner. We had the Calamari, shrimp and corn rissoto, shrimp trip and the creme brulee cheese cake. Everything was delicious. The squid was not chewy and the sauce was a nice Thai sweet chili sauce. We were seated a few minutes earlier then our reservation. Waiter had our drinks to us promptly and food order was delivered in the time it takes to make a rissoto from scratch. Very satisfied with the whole experience.
The food was delicious, the service was not top notch. Host at the check in was a little rude when telling us we would be seated right at our reservation time (we were five minutes early). Table size was too small for four people to sit comfortably. Food was excellent and a great value - waiter was as attentive as possible working tables all over the restaurant. Drink refills slow and removing dishes from the cramped table could have been improved. But again, great food!
