Great food, large portions, great staff!
Food was great and our server, Chandler, was outstanding. A member of our party had to take a very important phone call just as his soup was being delivered. Chandler realized the soup was getting cold and as soon as he returned form his call Chandler brought him another cup of warmed soup. Certainly going the extra step and we really appreciated. Thanks again for a great dinner
Try the flounder stuffed with crabmeat. Excellent meal!
Very good experience, food was tasty and the service was prompt; reservation was made on-line; it was honored on arrival.
Food: Oysters tasted fresh; be cautious when chewing small bits of shell noted; fish and shrimp were seasoned just right. While fries were lukewarm when served, our server noticed and promptly had them replaced with fresh hot fries. We also tried the shrimp and grits, while pretty tasty, temperature of dish/mainly the grits were lukewarm. Our primary concern was irregularities with food temperature was the only blemish cited during my experience. Overall, the experience was good, hostesses and waiter (Jeb) were very attentive and attempted to make sure all of our requests were met.
Looking forward to our next visit!
The Hostess working inside almost make me feel like leaving. She wasn’t friendly. She Seamed disinterested with no hospitality skills whatsoever.
This wasn't a great experience. It was ok, but for the price we paid the quantity of food was a HUGE disappointment. Not to mention we were the 1st of 3 tables to be seated and ordered placed and the last to be served. I wouldn't eat here again.
The service could use some TLC. We were greeted by the hostess outside and she took us over to our table. We sat there for 10 minutes before our waitress got there. The sad part is the manager stood behind the podium doing nothing as well as another employee occasionally looking over at our table. He (the manager) could have come over to greet us and get our drink order or even had the employee that was standing there with him get the drinks. That podium needs to be relocated from the front because it is a hang out spot for employees to stand there and complain about management. Very unprofessional. The food was ok, soup was watery with shrimp and strands of crab meat. 1lb of snow crabs cost $26 and I didnt even get 2 full clusters. Most of the legs were broken off. The drinks were good especially the peach long island. Will not be returning.
Good choice for the River Street area of Savannah. There are many choices there and this is one of the best.
Was a little crowded but once we got seated everything was fine. Our server Tim was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
Outstanding service and food. Very happy with this restaurant. Will go again.
Drove in from western PA on the way to Florida. Had a fabulous meal.
I visited Shrimp Factory based on a friend bragging about the fried green tomatoes. I drove 1 1/2 hrs to be told they were completely out. When I received my appetizer approx. 25 min later they were cold. Our waiter was nice, but not attentive to our needs.
Same slow waitress that waited on us the last time we ate there. They continue to operate as if it were a mom and pop when they really have a great location and reputation. Too bad!
Loved the food, the service was really good.
The tables were sticky for starters. The oysters were huge and delicious! The rest of the food was clearly frozen fish, the stuffed flounder had bones in it and basically tasted like mashed potatoes, not delicious. I had shrimp and crab legs which was pretty good, the seasoning and temperature was great, however, it only came with 3 crab legs for the 1/2 pound. Our server was amazing, she was doing her best to please. The French cucumber martini was outstanding! Best part of the meal!!!!
This was such a letdown from start to finish.
Upon arrival, the hostess was curt and dismissive. We had a reservation but were treated as if we had walked in without one.
A manager rudely addressed one person in our party about where she was and was not permitted to walk through the restaurant.
Two of us had coconut shrimp that neither of us could finish, and would not recommend.
There seemed to be some major confusion regarding caesar salad. Caesar salad definitely should not have cheddar cheese and cucumbers.
Between the host and the server, no one was able to set the table for 7 - we were short waters and place settings.
It didn't affect me personally, but how do you run out of lemons?
Overall - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
We were last there 10 years ago, so was looking forward to another great experience...really didn't happen. Had a reservation, seated to close to entrance so loud people were waiting on a table..no salad made at the table, last time received coffee in french press made at table with cinnamon offered, this time tepid coffee. I asked for appetizer as an entree...had to ask for a salad...no sides offered even at additional charge..server just interested in getting order and moving on. Next trip we will try somewhere else.
Great place. Food was delicious.Noisy but worth it! Server was a little unattentive.
I wasn't wowed by my dinner which was a crab legs plate. I was sadly diappointed they were old, cold and dry maybe sitting under a heat lamp for awhile...I will say that our waiter ask what was wrong an fix it with fresh crab legs and corn...ahhh perfect! That's how crab legs are supposed to look and taste!
I will add they were a little skimpy and I had a few legs that did not even have crabmeat inside.
Waiter was a little slow with service, didn't tell us his name so I don't have a name
My husband had shrimp and sausage creole and he said it was really good and enjoyed every bite!
Bread was fresh and hot and we really loved the pimento cheese side.
We really are not sure if we would visit again with some many other seafood options to choose from.
Our Valentines Day dinner at the Shrimp Factory far exceeded our expectations. Thinking this was going to be a price fixed limited menu and a rush out the door job we were totally wrong. The service provided by our waitress Tricia was first rate and she enhanced our experience being pleasant and thoughtful. Her attentiveness to detail was much appreciated. Our meals were ordered from the restaurant's full menu and served within a reasonable time. The food was delicious and plentiful. Our only regret was not having room for dessert! The rose presented to my wife by the establishment for the Valentines Day festivities was a very pleasant surprise.
The whole service was outstanding. the waiter made us feel like all stars it was great ..
The restaurant was very nice. The staff was patient with us as we had trouble accessing parking (traffic blocked due to accident) so they waited until all guests arrived to be seated without issue. Waiter was very helpful to our group and provided prompt service. Restaurant was clean and food was absolutely GREAT! No complaints and would definitely come again when visiting Savannah, Georgia.
We were there early, food was great, not very expensive.
If you are walking on River Street and want to grab a nice meal, The Shrimp Factory is a great option.
Started off with some homemade Bloody Marys. Ask them to kick it up a notch! They use OldBay seasoning on the rim. Nice touch.
We had a coupon for free Shrimp Cocktail appetizer. Tasty sauce with plump ones.
Wife had the Shrimp and Grits. Very good. Nice big shrimp.
I had the Shrimp Creole over rice. Would get that again in a skinny minute.
Finished off with a Bananas Foster. Made tableside! Very cool and so good. Don't miss that if you are a Fosters fan.
Saving the best part for last. Karen.
She was absolutely awesome. Definition of "hospitality" should have her picture next to it. Made the whole experience so pleasant. So eat at TSF if you are in the area. I'll be back.
Pleasantly surprised as most touristy restaurants (River St in Savannah) are overpriced and /or mediocre food. Nice attentive waitstaff, good food and fair prices. Will definitely come again and refer friends. We dined around 5:45 on a Tuesday night in January 2018 - not crowded. Althiugh it was restaurant week, we ordered from the regular menu.
Service was excellent! Food was okay. They didn’t have a lunch special for Restaurant Week, which was why we went there. Also, no Gluten-free specified items on the menu; the server had to ask the kitchen for each menu item I wanted, whether it contained wheat. That was a bit cumbersome. Otherwise, it’s a decent place to eat.
My Wife and I really enjoyed the food. Pricing was good and the service was excellent.
Great location, reservation time honored. Great table & our server was excellent. We had scallops, oysters on the half shell & boiled shrimp. Could not have been better...I would return.
The shrimp cocktail was very good but the stuff mushrooms were not cooked all the way through.
Fine establishment little small on the inside though
The food was not good. I had shrimp and crab legs. The crab legs were not fresh and the shrimp had no flavor.
The restaurant is old building waterfront historic on Riverwalk which makes it very attractive but the wooden tables that we were seated at were sticky on the top from the gooey finish coming off. They need to have the tops refinished. The bar special running all day everyday was margaritas for 5.00 so we asked about strawberry and the waitress said no strawberry but they had raspberry so we ordered the raspberry. Our bill came and we were charged 7.00 for the raspberry. We inquired and the waitress admitted that she had not told us right and she would see manager. She came back and told us that the manager would not give us 5.00 price. We spent 240.00 in that restaurant and the manager wouldn't honor waitress mistake accounting for 4.00 overage. Seems small deal but to me it's a big deal because it says that the manager could care less about the customer and doing things properly. Won't go back solely for that reason and wouldn't recommend either.
We enjoyed our meal and the waitstaff very much
My wife and I were on a quiet getaway, we enjoyed our Evening Meal at the Shrimp Factory very much. Our server was friendly, attentive and gave us a brief history of the building. The food was very good I. I got the Low Country Boil and my wife ordered the Crab legs everything was seasoned well. I do recommend the Shrimp Factory!!!
They changed the shrimp and grits recipe ans they are not as good! The service was slow. However, the owner was accommodating and awesome.
The food was amazing! But it took about 15 minutes for someone to wait on us, and even then, we had to initiate it. Apparently, the person who was supposed to wait on us just didnt, so the waitress working the adjacent tables ended up taking care of us. Thankfully, she was awesome! Also, the other issue is we made reservations through the website, but when we arrived the hostess never asked if we had reservations, and never gave us the chance to say we did. So then we received a snarky email from OpenTable chastising us for not keeping our reservations, when in fact we had.
Disappointing. Food was costly. Fried flounder was mostly bread and no fish, coffee was cold.
Both service and food were below average. Much better restaurant options in Savannah.
Not the same quality of food and service as when I was last here 4 yrs ago.
Great food and great service. Were glad it was highly reccomended to us.
