We hadn't eaten at Seafare of Williamsburg for over 8 years and I wanted to go there again for a birthday celebration. The service was great but the food was not. I had the stuffed shrimp and the shrimp were medium sized at best, butterflied with the crab stuffing piled on top. The shrimp were dried out. My husband had the salmon and that was good but not great. The way the meals were priced we expected better quality.
Our first visit, the tricky part is that my wife is allergic to crab, lobster and shrimp. There was enough good choices to choose from. We enjoyed the meal but service was slow paced, there was only 1 other couple there. With that said, we will return.
If you enjoy fine dining where every detail is committed to excellence; you will enjoy and appreciate the Seafare.
We've been patrons 20+ years and have never been disappointed.
Family owned with much pride which is clearly reflected in every moment of the dining experience.
We really enjoyed our meal at The Seafare. I had the veal and my husband had flounder. Perfectly prepared and presented and a very generous portion. I started with the escargot and it too was the perfect temperature and so delicious. The ambiance is wonderful and enhances the entire experience. Service was impeccable. We waited until early January as it is almost impossible to get a table during the holiday season. We will definitely eat here again!
Mediocre food. Three serving of bread - sweet (dry), dinner rolls (too crunchy) and corn bread which was good. Just not very good food overall. Sad that this was one of the few available seafood choices for NYE dinner.
Birthday celebration. Was wonderful
Fine dining at its best. Delicious food. Great service. Great value for money.
Best seafood restaurant I've eaten in. So good went back a second time and are going again tonight. I've never gone to the same restaurant three times in a week. The seafood menu is so large, there is plenty to choose from.
First time at this iconic spot did not disappoint. Food was nicely presented and delicious and we enjoyed our dinner and will be back.
The food was very good and an excellent selection both for seafood lovers & meat lovers. Our waitress was outstanding but overworked due to staff shortages. Given the circumstances they did well overall .
Excellent restaurant. Best crabmeat stuffed mushrooms I’ve ever had. Wife agreed and the crabmeat on the stuffed shrimp was great. Filet was very good. A little undercooked but still enjoyed it. The vegges did not knock my socks off but I never eat them all. My daughter got the Oscar Medallions and cleared her whole plate. She is picky and we rarely see that.
My son and I went to Seafare for Christmas Eve dinner. We enjoyed shrimp cocktail, and soups for starters. He had the crab cakes & I had the flounder. All of the food was delicious. The restaurant was packed so the service was a little slow. But considering it was Christmas Eve - they did a great job. Will definitely go there again.
We took our whole family to eat here on vacation. Everyone’s food was delicious and the service was exceptional.
We had a family Christmas gathering of 11 and everyone enjoyed ages 12 to 83.
Excellent dining experience. Waiter was attentive without hovering or making us feel rushed. Would recommend.
Very good restaurant. My wife had scallops with peppers and mushrooms. I had the veal Oscar. We both had pecan pie for desert which was excellent
food ok. not that good.
The service was great - very pleasant and accommodating. The ambiance was also very nice. However the food was truly awful. Steaks were poor quality - fatty throughout and the flavor of what I imagine dishwater tastes like. French onion soup was also bland. Also extremely overpriced for the quality of what was provided. They did take off the charges for the steak at least since they were inedible. Would not go back though.
This was my 87th Birthday dinner and it was SPECTACULAR! The Crab Bisque was so delicious as was the Wiener Schnitsel, Rice Pilaf and veggies. The Peach Melba was also a visural and taste treat! Our waitress was a delight and we hope to come back again for my husband's birthday in April as well as our anniversary in late June. What a pleasure to dine in quiet elegance. Many thanks for a truly memorable evening.
Old fashion setting , service was great and server was pleasant and knowledgeable. We had the salmon and scallop dishes which were delicious and cooked to perfection! They brought homemade cornbread and sherbet between courses. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. Highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, food and service. Very clean restaurant and pleasant staff.
First time visit to the restaurant, every aspect was on target, food was excellent. Looking forward to visiting again when we come back.
The service was excellent. my husband had the veal oscar which was tender and flavorful. I had the grouper which was also tasty.
The food was delicious, and my granddaughter and I loved the ambiance of the room. We will come again.
It was wonderful! Definitely a great place for a nice date or equivalent get-together. All the courses were equally delicious, and separated with refreshing palate cleansers.
If anyone is looking for a nice dinner, this is the place.
Classic food artfully prepared. Excellent service.
Nice dinner pleasant staff
Impeccable service. A nice quiet, classy, restaurant with extremely friendly & attentive staff. And cloth tablecloths and napkins!
The waitress we had was not a very friendly person. She took a lot out of our experience.
All the nice touches to a meal from pre-dinner rum cake to sorbet to cleanse the palate to hot corn muffins served with the well prepared meal. Servers were pleasant and attentive - a hidden treasure in Williamsburg!
Of our party of 4, two caesar salads served were inedible being soggy lettuce, that was not fresh, drenched in a tasteless dressing. The seafood meals were more like fast food caliber also tasteless The server did a good job which was a saving element of the meal. There were not many guests dining and some areas empty. We were seated in a room where there was a very large party having fun but extremely loud making it near impossible to have a conversation over our meal. Too bad they hadn’t been seated in one of the empty areas. Overall it was a very disappointing experience with prices not commensurate with the food served.
The seafood was frozen and tasted as if it was cooked in a microwave . Exceedingly salty and soggy and the baked potato and vegetables were the same. Rarely do I find food inedible .
My steak was tuff snd over cooked
My cocktail was very weak
My server was fast and friendly
Food wasn't bad but a bit high for what you got and it was very noisy the entire night we were there.
Excellent service with very good food and drinks. The Veal Oscar was excellent, and the pound cake dessert tasted great.
Great for a special occasion
Food was not good very expensive for poor quality. Restaurant smelled musty and they didn’t have a restroom to use for the public. Will not return.
The Seafare of Wmburg was a DELIGHT. It was a high quality seafood meal, nicely served in a quiet dining room. It was “old world” in the nicest way possible. Everything was real and fresh and prepared exactly as ordered. We will be back!!
Dinner was fabulous! Out for date night and was treated great. Food, service, ambiance we all THE TOPS! Be sure to order one of the flambé deserts, Peach Melba made tableside was to die for! THANK YOU!!!
