The Seafare of Williamsburg
Signature Crab Cakes
lump crab meat, whipped potatoes, seasonal vegetables
Crab Bisque Soup
spinach, rice, seasonal vegetables, balsamic cream
Outdated, ousters were good but fries, and “grouper” which didn’t taste like grouper were awful.
Rum bread was amazing. Crab bisque was bland. French onion soup was good. Crab cakes were amazing. Scallops were good. Beef medallions were warm/cold. Glass of white Chardonnay was terrible - could have been open too long. Overall - disappointing experience.
Food was delicious, but the best part was the service. Victoria is the best!
We had a wonderful experience at the Seafarer last night. The food was fabulous! Our server Christine was excellent, so pleasant and efficient! The general manager, Howard, stopped by our table to say “hello” and truly topped off the evening with his outgoing personality. I highly recommend this restaurant!!
Sorry, this is the wrong restaurant. But this restaurant was nice.
This is a great place for a quiet special dinner. The ambiance is quiet and fancy. The service is excellent. The food is very good and the price is very reasonable for a "fancy restaurant".
The restaurant looked tired and dated. The waitstaff were very nice. The food was just OK, nothing to write home about. They seemed more interested in presentation rather than quality of food. Every person was served a square of some very bland bread with an icing on top before they were even given a menu. Odd. They brought out orange sorbet to cleanse the palate after the appetizer or before if you didn't order appetizers. Odd again. Just couldn't seem to decide what kind of restaurant they wanted to be.
We had a really nice experience at the Seafare. The service, background music and food quality was to the level that we will come back again when we’re in town.
Steak and Seafood Platter was delicious! Beautiful cozy place with great service.
Very best service and atmosphere. Seafood well prepared and tasty!
This was outstanding! Party of 6, 4 adults 2 older children. 6 different entrees, 3 apps. All were excellent. A great fine dining experience for adults and fine kids.
It's been quite a few years since I dined here and it was just as good as I remember it from the 70's and 80's. Glad the kids and grandkids were able to experience it. Compliments to the owners and the chef!
Good food. Try the crab cakes! They were delicious AND LARGE. It is not a contemporary restaurant. More like an upscale traditional restaurant. Quiet enough to hear and listen to your dinner mates
Only bad thing was that they didn’t have any oysters
Food was sub par... service was slow.. took 20 min after sitting down to get drinks... was just slow from there...
Seafare is a classic in Williamsburg but we were a bit disappointed this time.
We made a reservation and then waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated, then waited another 15 min or more for a server to come by and then had to ask for water. Perhaps there are fewer servers covering more tables but with spring break and other activity in town it would have been helpful had the management been better prepared. Server was very pleasant and worked hard once our table started to be served. Service was a bit slow and food was good but nothing outstanding for the price.
Food was great Service was also great. Will return again
We recently visited the Seafare for dinner for the first time. We really loved the nautical themed decorations and paintings. The ambience, food, and service were all excellent. I highly recommend it to anyonebfor a night out or special occasion.
It was very good. The food was excellent but the soup was a little cool.
Return visit did not disappoint. Will visit when I again stay in Williamsburg.
The food was fine, not the best seafood I've had. The prices were a little high for the quality of the food. The restaurant was empty, so it seemed a bit uncomfortable.
The atmosphere and service was outstanding. Our meals was delicious. The only thing we can't remember our hostess but we give her thumbs up nice and pleasant. We would recommend this Restaurant to our Family and friends. We will definitely dine here again in the near future
Excellent all around. Attentive staff, fresh food, very polished elegant atmosphere that takes you away from the central hub in town where the restaurant is located. Unique bread and sherbet options in between soup/salad course and main entree. Succulent surf and turf portioned correctly to enjoy appetizers and desserts. Superb value especially taking everything entrance to exit into consideration. We have already recommended this fabulous place to all our Williamsburg friends! Thank you for the special night for my wife and I!
We had a wonderful dinner! The food was great. And so was the service. I had perfectly prepared salmon. My husband enjoyed the oysters. Ou server was very attentive but not over the tip. We recommend the Seafare.
This place hasn't been updated in a whiiiile (aesthetically or otherwise). Service was good although not as attentive as I'd have liked, and for a $200 meal I was not impressed with the portion or the quality of the meal. Also, they were out of several sides when we were there. I would go back because the food was fine, but not for this price.
This was an intimate romantic dining experience. The food was delicious too.
Great food. Great service. Great place!
Steeping in the Seafare of Williamsburg is a step back in time. Decor, Staff uniform, lighting all belong in the mid 80's. Our server never asked if we wanted more drink from the bar, 2 minute check back did not happen; the best part of he evening I was with my wife. This is a no go fo us, and do not recommend unless they spend months overhauling from the floor up, to include the menu.
The food probably came out of the freezer. It was tasteless.
Limited liquor selection.
Great food, but the menu was a limited due to COVID-19.
I had the fried seafood platter, which was excellent. The wait staff is very attentive.
It took an hour just to get appetizers. They were out of literally every 1st option I chose, drinks included. I made the reservation with a note about our anniversary...not even mentioned. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. The food was unimpressive and extremely expensive for what you were served. Mary our waitress was kind but didn't even apologize for timing as if it was normal to wait an hour for a shrimp cocktail and escargot. They weren't even worth the wait. The rice with my entrée was served in a saucer and ice cold. Save your money!
The food was good as usual, but we shouldn’t have had to wait for almost two and a half hours for our entree. Five couples came in after us and left before we finally finished our meal. Heard a tray of food dropped about the time we should have received our dinners, but staff didn’t own up to it. Not sure if it was ours or not but assumed so with the delayed service. Would have had a better experience if staff had told us the problem so we didn’t have to ask manager and waitstaff why the delay. Second time for special occasion and terrible service. Regular dining we’ve had no issues and risked it again for special event but no more.
Wonderful dining experience!
The service was great. The food was delicious and ample. The crab cakes among the best I have ever had. Very fine dining at a reasonable price.
We were seated in the large dining room on the left as you walk in. Ou immediately response was a wow!! It was elegant and beautifully decorated. It just got better from there. The wine to the appetizers to the entree and to the dessert were absolutely outstanding. We were so thrilled with our meal we went back there for dinner two days later!! It was just a wonderful. It will be a regular stop whenever we visit Williamsburg in the future. The service was excellent also as you would expect.
Fabulous dinner! Unfortunately COVID restrictions have hurt an excellent restaurant. Our server Mary was fantastic!
We were there on a Friday evening. Seating capacity is probably 200 seats plus. There were four of us and two other tables with a couple and one family. Needles to say empty restaurants don’t feel good. The special was stuffed lobster, which was a fantastic deal and a nice entry. The other two meals were ok. Service was fine but hardly exceptional as the waiter nothing else to do. The ratings exceeded the meal
Poor service. No one ever came to wait on us. So we left. We never got a chance to experience the restaurant.
Attractive decor, pleasant, efficient service with excellent and reasonably priced seafood. Great oysters!
The crab stuffed shrimp is must to try. The portion is perfect. We come to Williamsburg yearly for Celebration and we always eat here. They are so nice and service is great. Will return next year.
