Very nice quiet and peaceful ambiance. The service was excellent. Very good variety of options on the menu and the food was delicious. This was our first visit but we will definitely be returning.
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner with family the last night we were in Williamsburg. Beautiful restaurant with a nautical theme, very clean, nice soft music. The waitress was great. Answered all of our menu questions and was very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing. We had baked grouper, a very nice size filet with vegetables, very moist and very well seasoned. The desserts were incredible, the banana foster was prepared in front of our table, the cheesecake was enough for 2 people and the baklava was fresh and great tasting. It was also large enough for 2 people. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. January is the slowest season for them so if you go you will have no wait and great service.
We enjoyed our New Years/wedding anniversary dinner at Seafare. One would not want to dine in haste there -- you'll choose and receive your drinks well before your food order is taken, and the pace is unhurried. Can't remember the last time we dined for nearly two hours. The staff are courteous, the food well prepared (we really liked the Norwegian Salmon), and the ambiance pleasant.
This restaurant is an old gem for Williamsburg. It is dependable and has a sufficiently broad enough menu to offer variety for repeat visits and consistency to make it a place for a specific preference available every visit. Both taste and presentation of the food is very good.
Waitress was surly, my steak with crab was cold, overall mediocre for what used to be a great Williamsburg restaurant
Best overall restaurant owner/manager—Demetris—in Williamsburg.
The setting, decorations, service, and food were all great. A special restaurant. Good place for ordinary dining as well as for special occasions.
We came here tl eat at 4:30. Only half dozen other tables were in use. Both my wife and I ordered different soups and both were lukewarm. The server took them back to kitchen were they got nuked. Main course was Norwegian salmon. I had special rib eye and 3 jumbo shrimp. My wife noted mash potatoes were salty. Again the server handled promptly and offered did side. My ribeye was cooked correctly. But it has gristle through the steak which took away the pleasure of eating. Service was the best part of this meal. But it was not worth the price tag.
The food and service was amazing here. This was our first visit, but we will be returning.
The only "negative", if you can even call it one...the lighting is a little dim to give the ambiance, so if you need light to read, make sure you have some way to overcome that.
Nice relaxing dinner - enjoyed free app through reservation via Open Table! ( Crab and artichoke dip was good!) The salmon was very good. Nice size salads! Definitely a place we will return to next time in Williamsburg !
I had crab cakes which were excellent. The prices were high but worth it.
Fantastic food and service !!! Will be back in the near future. Thanks
Adam was amazing, he treated my 8-year-old daughter like a little princess. Our food was timely and delicious but it left us too full for dessert LOL. I can't wait to come back and try the crab stuffed shrimp.
Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, very nice service, excellent price
We went for Thanksgiving dinner, which was great! We made a reservation for 6:15. We were seated at 6:45 at a table that had been empty upon our arrival. My elderly mother with a walker was with us so I had hoped we would be seated shortly after arriving, but no. Others who came in after us were however seated before us, again the table we ultimately sat at was empty, yet already set with napkins, silverware, etc. The value for the food we received was very fair. My only complaint was they reversed the order of the courses of soup and salad which was no big deal but they did not tell us they had run out of mashed potatoes which were included with our meal. The only way we knew was because we asked and at that time we were offered a substitution. We were there from 6:15 until 8:30 as they were VERY SHORT STAFFED. We wouldn’t see our waiter for 30 minutes at a time. The host/manager was also a bit rude and didn’t bother to help serve or clear tables.
My experience here was horrible. We went for the special thanksgiving meal. The vegetables looked like something from a TV dinner and everything else was like a big pile of mush. Service was horrible. It was way overpriced and I will never return.
We enjoyed our visit to seafare. Food was great, service was excellent and the experience was great. Will visit again.
2 steaks were not well done after two attempts. Server did not acknowledge that juices from the steak were in the vegetables and mashed potatoes. This experience was not like my first experience.
The food, 12 oysters and two fish dishes, was excellent. Oysters were fresh and well shucked, the stuffed trout and fried platter could not have been better. Service was prompt, cheerful, and professional. Overall, this was a delightful first experience and one we plan to repeat.
The service was good. Our food was as described and very good.
This was the first time we have dined at The Seafare of Williamsburg. The interior was very well decorated. We were greeted at the door and immediately taken to our table. We made reservations. Our waitress was wonderful! The food was outstanding. My husband and I shared escargot as an appetizer which was great!
Wine selection was excellent. We look forward to dining there again when we return to Williamsburg.
Everyone enjoyed their food. I was a bit disappointed, I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and substituted mashed potatoes. They brought out crab cakes with mashed potatoes. I sent it back, and they brought out the shrimp with rice. I'm a waitress and it's the little details that can make it or break it. Otherwise though, the food was delicious and the service was not bad.
We were driving all day and very tired. The food and drinks were delicious. Our waitress allowed us to dictate the pace of our meal. She was outgoing and took time to chat with us.
Possibly the worst crab cake I have ever had. Mostly bread.
The outside is very deceiving because the inside is a fine dining venue. Our waiter was very informative and answered all our questions. He recommended the wine we chose and it was very good. We both had the crab cakes and they were delicious. We felt like we had our own private waiter as he was so attentive.
We will definitely be back to enjoy another wonderful meal and experience.
Celebrated our 50th Anniversary in Williamsburg, chose this restaurant and were not disappointed.
Highly recommend the Seafare! Great service, food and atmosphere.
My wife and I have been coming to the Seafare for years, but something has changed. The food quality was not the same. My wife sent back her meal it was so bad. I didn’t even finish my greasy meal. Won’t go there ever again.
It’s a very fine restaurant. Food is always good and the little chef additions to the meal, sherbet as a cleanser, a little sweet cake to begin, and wonderful corn muffins add to the dining experience.
The staff includes young people on a cultural exchange program. They are always fun to talk to. Highly recommend!
We have eaten here before and it was great. This time it was just average. Service was incredibly slow. We had six people dining, and everyone was disappointed in their meal.
Lovely as always! We always visit Seafare when in Williamsburg
Meco, our waiter was so nice and we enjoyed our conversations w/him. His recommendations for menu items were spot on. We had a delicious appetizer, soup, meal and dessert. Thank you very much for a enjoyable and wonderful Anniversary dinner. This was our 2nd time dining and we definitely plan on a future visit.
The place was empty which should have been a clue. I ordered a beer and the calamari. They brought me the wrong beer and the calamari was over cooked in oil that was long over due to be changed. We got the check and left. I was looking forward to a great meal, but it wasn’t to be had here.
Servers had trouble understanding what we wanted...but were very nice and cordial....one person tried to order a lemon drop martini and received a straight vodka martini with a lemon dropped in it
overall not to bad...
I visited this restaurant for the first time on my vacation. It was disappointing. The menu on the opentable app and website isn’t accurate. I went there specifically for the Chilean sea bass and they didn’t have it. In fact they had a pretty limited menu in comparison to what was on the website. I started to leave when I got there but figured I’d give it a shot. The food was terrible. I asked for the trout with imperial crab. They brought me a whole fish grilled with the skin on that definitely wasn’t trout. I had to remove the skin. The fish wasn’t seasoned and the inside where the crab imperial was was cold. The service was ok but the server never asked me why I left pretty much my entire meal on the plate. I ordered grilled oysters as an appetizer which weren’t cooked. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Our server was very slow. Food was very good even though it was a little pricey.
Food was absolutely awful. Rice tasted like medicine and the scallop and trout dishes had virtually no taste. The waitress had no idea of the lobster sizes and was very slow. This is the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Furthermore, this place is way over priced. Thank goodness we did not have guests with us. We will never eat there again and we are local williamsburg residents.
Nice menu with mostly well-prepared seafood. We were disappointed as one member of our party had her order forgotten--it arrived only after everyone else's was finished. Staff were apologetic but no one offered, for example, to throw it in for free or to give us something else instead.
While the service was impeccable, the food was not. Soup was cold and way too salty. Entrees were all undercooked. Disappointed.
Item descriptions on the menu are misrepresented. They were out of many dishes. It was our first bad experience at Seafare but it has changed quite a bit from a year ago. The attention to detail is now lacking. May try it one more time.
