Nice dinner pleasant staff
Impeccable service. A nice quiet, classy, restaurant with extremely friendly & attentive staff. And cloth tablecloths and napkins!
The waitress we had was not a very friendly person. She took a lot out of our experience.
All the nice touches to a meal from pre-dinner rum cake to sorbet to cleanse the palate to hot corn muffins served with the well prepared meal. Servers were pleasant and attentive - a hidden treasure in Williamsburg!
Of our party of 4, two caesar salads served were inedible being soggy lettuce, that was not fresh, drenched in a tasteless dressing. The seafood meals were more like fast food caliber also tasteless The server did a good job which was a saving element of the meal. There were not many guests dining and some areas empty. We were seated in a room where there was a very large party having fun but extremely loud making it near impossible to have a conversation over our meal. Too bad they hadn’t been seated in one of the empty areas. Overall it was a very disappointing experience with prices not commensurate with the food served.
The seafood was frozen and tasted as if it was cooked in a microwave . Exceedingly salty and soggy and the baked potato and vegetables were the same. Rarely do I find food inedible .
My steak was tuff snd over cooked
My cocktail was very weak
My server was fast and friendly
Food wasn't bad but a bit high for what you got and it was very noisy the entire night we were there.
Excellent service with very good food and drinks. The Veal Oscar was excellent, and the pound cake dessert tasted great.
Great for a special occasion
Food was not good very expensive for poor quality. Restaurant smelled musty and they didn’t have a restroom to use for the public. Will not return.
The Seafare of Wmburg was a DELIGHT. It was a high quality seafood meal, nicely served in a quiet dining room. It was “old world” in the nicest way possible. Everything was real and fresh and prepared exactly as ordered. We will be back!!
Dinner was fabulous! Out for date night and was treated great. Food, service, ambiance we all THE TOPS! Be sure to order one of the flambé deserts, Peach Melba made tableside was to die for! THANK YOU!!!
Great food service
My adult son and I took my husband to Seafare of Williamsburg to celebrate my husband's birthday because previous ratings seemed to be pretty good and we're always looking for good seafood restaurants. First, I want to say the restaurant was very clean and tidy. The tables were set with freshly-pressed cloth tablecloths and napkins and the glassware sparkled. The decor is a little dated--reminiscent of the 80s--but overlookable because of the cleanliness. We ordered the Crab and Artichoke dip as an appetizer to share. There didn't seem to be much crab or artichokes. Or baguettes, for that matter. It was mostly cheese. And lots of grease from the overwhelming amount of cheese. We actually tipped the serving dish on its side and drained off the grease (apologies to the dishwasher for the grease-soaked, paper doily stuck to the plate). My husband ordered the Super Sauton and my son and I each ordered the Veal Oscar. My husband commented the scallops were cooked to perfection but the lobster and shrimp were overdone and tough. He didn't mention the oysters or crab so I'm not sure if that meant they were cooked properly or if they didn't have enough presence in the dish to warrant comment. The veal was breaded, tough, and floating in grease which made the breading soggy. The asparagus was delicious and topped with hollandaise and four or five chunks of lobster. Unfortunately, the lobster chunks were overcooked and tough, as well. Our server did an excellent job of serving, ensuring our drinks were full, and clearing the used dishes and cutlery. Overall, we rated the meal as mediocre. Perhaps they lost their chef during the pandemic and haven't been able to secure a satisfactory replacement? At any rate, we visited Seafare of Williamsburg and ticked it off our bucket list but it's highly unlikely we'll make a return visit.
It was a truly lovely experience. The service and food was outstanding.
Food was good and it was a quiet environment for my son and I to have good conversation.
We had been wanting to try this since we moved to Williamsburg. We were disappointed.
Felt old and stale.
Chowder was good but overall, we did not enjoy and could not eat much.
Felt like at one time it was probably a really nice place but it has seen better days.
Unfortunately, there were were very few wines available and the service was choppy. I was surprised at how rigid the menu was. A lot of things went wrong tonight. Love the look and feel of restaurant. But the actual dining needs work.
What I thought was going to be an upscale place to eat dinner was mediocre at best. It seems the word is out since there were only a few patrons on a Friday night. The waitress was tentative and gave off the impression of being new. Our drinks were frequently left empty, there was no specialty drink menu, the food was okay nothing to go out of our way. If they are going to continue to compete they should step it up a bit.
Very 50s old school upscale dining! Great building and interior. Food fresh. Recipes a flash from the past.
Our server was amazing! The 3 different kinds of breads they serve and the fried shrimp were delicious, however the crabcakes were so salty they were inedible.
Food and service were outstanding. We will return the next time we are in town.
Out to on vacation. Promptly seated. All the food was great and excellent service!
Well worth giving yourself and significant other a beautiful night out. Service was outstanding, food was simply delicious, especially the cherries jubilee.
We had a reservation for my Girlfriends birthday at 9. But when we got there they said they were closing early. A phone call text or email would have been nice. Instead we went to the Fat Tuna where we were sat immediately and well taken care of.
The scallops are wonderful! The service is friendly and attentive.
Dining room was dated and falling apart. My husband cut himself on a broken chair and the booth was taped together. The restaurant got good reviews online so we tried it. We are not from the area. We dressed up thinking it was a nice place but other customers were wearing t-shirts and sandals. The food was expensive and not very good. We had the scallops and crab cakes. The bill came to around $130 dollars for 2 people including tip! The only positive was the good service. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Vacationing with friends first time visit. Crab cakes and stuffed trout were very good. Filet was tasteless. Service was poor due to what appeared to be too little help (thank you Covid.). Overall not memorable.
Even giving slack for challenges during the pandemic, this was horrible. 1.5 hours to START getting entrees. Took 15 minutes for all of them to come out. The filet mignon was way overcooked, ribeye undercooked, vegetables bland, fish overcooked. Unremarkable food that was way overpriced. The servers could do nothing but bring bread and apologize. Management was helping, I mean hiding in the back. A round of free drinks would have softened the situation or the manager making the rounds to schmooze.
Very dated decor. The food wasn’t up to par with the prices, and although the server was kind we likely won’t be back.
The server was nice and the portions were generous, but the ambiance had an unusual feel to it. We won’t go back.
Food was very good. Nice atmosphere. Attentive wait staff.
Filet mignon had no flavor. Not even like they used salt, pepper or garlic. Béarnaise was forgotten about. Escargot was good and the peach melba was mediocre. Service was good but the place was empty for a reason…
Excellent food and attentive service.
Our waitress was very short with us, curt and almost dismissive. She was very friendly with the white tables but didn’t are for the black folks. It seemed that way for every blank person in the restaurant. Our wait times were insane, the food was ridiculously over cooked (main courses) and the table seated next to us (white folk) stared so rich they made me uncomfortable. I will NEVER go back to this restaurant. As a black woman, I will never give this place my money again. I felt embarrassed and talked about and my husband and I were not treated as though we were paying customers.
Service was good. A little slow at times but they were busy and they may have been light on staff considering the current employment climate. We enjoyed our meal.
Very disappointing. While the salmon was well cooked and very flavorful, the baked grouper was terrible. It was tough and difficult to cut unlike any fish we’ve ever had. I would never do back.
I was expecting a high quality meal and it was just average. Bisque was rather bland, scallops were something I could have whipped up myself. My server was very attentive but the overall experience was just so-so. With so many great dining choices in Williamsburg I probably won’t be back.
