The Salt Creek Steakhouse
Overpriced food. Service was good but $45 for an over cooked filet with little flavor is a bust for me.
A little loud , great food and service.
Very satisfied with the restaurant. They were slammed due to it being a Saturday night during the height of ski season. The Elk was excellent, the bone in rib eye was very tasty. I’d go again.
This is our second trip back because the first last year was so great. The steak is hands down amazing. We missed the bone marrow being on the menu this time. We love the rustic ambiance. The staff was great and we even met the executive chef and tried his award winning cheesecake which was wonderful. We also got the brownie Sunday which was promptly gone before my second bite. If you are looking for quality food, I would definitely make this reservation!
My dining experience was excellent! Our server was attentive and offered great suggestions. The Brussel Risotto appetizer was delicious and the halibut was cooked and seasoned well!
The ribs and brisket are amazing. Maybe the best ribs I’ve ever had!
We took our daughter there for her 7th birthday. The menu choices for children was excellent, the wine selection was also excellent, and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be back.
Tall money but all was very good. We were in town for skiing so it was cool dropping that much money once. Food, service, atmosphere was all great.
Great, but due to the noise level, the older people with us didn’t hear her well enough at all.
Great food and awesome service. The steaks are incredible.
We made reservations and we were seated quickly. Steak was fabulous as was the BBQ ribs and brisket. I think they were a little short handed but we were served fairly quickly with drinks and rolls. Food all came out together too. Good selection of wine. Will go back if in the area again.
Great food and service! Steak was perfectly cooked!
Excellent Breakfast! Food was fresh and reasonably priced. Will be back for breakfast again!
Made a reservation and still waited 10 minutes past that time. If that was the worst thing that would not even be mentioned. The soup and the salad my son and I ordered were never delivered. The bone in ribeye is their specialty and was easily the second worst I. Have ever had. Not sure what the worst bone in ribeye I ever had was but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. It looked beautiful and was well season and cooked properly but the meat quality a far cry from prime. Tough, chewy, with a lot of gristle would be an accurate description. Not worth $51. If I was anywhere back home I would have sent it back but did not want to kill the moment chilling with the family on vacation. For what it worth, my teenage boys liked the lamb chops and the NY strip. I have to believe there is somewhere better to get a steak in Breckenridge.
We used to love this place, but with bad service and unusually high noise, this was disappointing.
Read some mixed reviews, but my friend and I got the two person porterhouse steak, with a huge Caesar salad, asparagus
All very good. The steak was huge, my friend and I had a hard time finishing it
We really hit it off with our server, who did a great job
The place was full because it was Friday night in Breckenridge
My friend doesn’t drink so that was simple
Our big two person stay, Caesar salad, asparagus, and a glass of wine was $120
Order the steak. It was prepared as ordered. The flounder was overcooked, asparagus was cold and at $45 a regrettable choice. Service was average. We had to ask about the wine we ordered as the sever forgot. He delivered it after we ate our salad. Overall, a decent steakhouse for Breckenridge that is not fancy, a bit loud, and with average service.
Great steak cooked perfect.
Food is amazing! A must stop when your in Breck. I highly recommend!
The food and service did not reflect the price. If I am paying 50 for steak I expect the service to be professional and the food quality to be great. It was basically Outback but twice the price.
We were seated on time. It was a set menu for New Years Eve, which we received no info on ahead of time. Prices were double that of on-line menu, because we were forced to take salad, appetizer, and dessert, per set menu. There were no prices on set menu.
Food was good. steaks well cooked. Pheasant rolls were outstanding app. They ran out of all three desserts on menu by 9:30PM. Waitress over-charged us for 3 salads ($36)and manager agreed to correct when posting charges. We were informed post-meal that they do not take Amex.
Atmosphere was great. Ski town steak-house feel was great. Quite energetic and very kid friendly.
We were there for New Years. Meal was incredibly expensive at $95 pp without drinks. They were slammed, and it took over an hour and a half after ordering. Mine was way overdone and tough (even though I ordered the veal). I rarely if ever send food back, but had to this time. But my guests all ordered prime rib and loved it. They also ran out of the chocolate dessert so my husband was disappointed with cheese cake.
Just average food. High prices due to tourist area.
The hostess was very rude. The waitress was overall good but the bartender forget to make our drinks. We ordered the scallops for appetizer. Wish we would have not ordered them they were not scallops in my opinion. The steak I ordered was 6 out of 10 it had room for improvement. My wife got beef filet medallion that was tough it was not a filet probably was a sirloin that they sold at the filet price. Overall not very satisfied had lots of room for improvement
Old time steakhouse feel, friendly service, good food. Chef visited the floor several times.
Amazing wait staff & executive chef. Can’t wait to return.
Restaurant was super loud. Arrived a few minutes early and had to wait for our table. Fun bar space upstairs where we were sent to wait. Drinks were average. Soup of the day “salmon bisque” tasted more like chili/tomato than salmon. Not very good at all. Wedge salad had 3 cherry tomatoes and minimal bacon and dressing. Entrees were better than starters/salads. Didn’t get dessert because menu wasn’t exciting.
Food was ok. Service not fantastic - expected more and was let down. Won’t go back.
The food was just okay. The atmosphere was a little noisy. The dessert was the best part of the meal. We weren’t overly impressed for what we paid.
We found you through Open Table and so glad that we did. Mike was an amazing server and made sure we had an incredible Christmas meal. Your porthouse steak was perfect for us 3 - travelers with no need for leftovers. Great wine and desserts too. Will definitely recommend to friends who visit and will return the next time we are in Breckinridge!
Food was good. Good steaks. However, Service was not acceptable given the price range for this place. Waiter had to be asked twice to refill drinks, took too long to wait on is, didn’t check in w our table.
Christmas Eve...nice meal...visiting from Florida and friendly staff!
Very nice place. Enjoyed our meal . Friendly atmosphere.
We really enjoyed a great Christmas Eve meal with our family of 11! The service was excellent and food was exceptional!
Our party ordered a variety of dishes including New York strip, lamp chops, filet, halibut and prime rib. All dishes were great, halibut was ok.
Desserts were all very tasty!
All-in-all a great meal and we will be back the next time we are in breck!
Lovely Christmas Eve dinning experience! I have dined at Salt Creek several times and it never disappoints. Owner Anthony always offers the best hospitality- you can find him checking in with each table to ensure they have everything they need. The food is the best of Breck (the BBQ, scallops and cheesecake are a must) and the staff/service is superb. If you’re looking for a solid meal, fantastic wine and great service, Salt Creek is a Breckenridge must!
Family Christmas meal while visiting Breckenridge. We were seated close to our reserved time. Service seemed a bit slow but there were several other large parties. We were eight. The food was good but every single dish from the appetizers, Mac and cheese, and the entrees were warm at best. Took forever to get one drink.
